Chapter 3

Magnet for bad luck

He was standing in front of me. Smiling.
I was about to close the door, but he blocked it with his hand and made his way through.
'What do you think you're doing?' I was so angry.
'I thought you were interesting. So I followed you.' he said as he looked around my house.
'Get lost.' I was holding the door open for him.
'Is that a way to treat your guests?' he said as he was getting closer to me.
'What do you want?' I sighed as I closed the door.
'Do you have a boyfriend?' he asked me.
'No.'
'Good, good. I don't know how will I get closer to you with Bobby on my back.' he sat down.
'Get closer to me? How about that you don't?'
He smirked.
'I was never rejected by any girl.' he said as he stood up and started walking towards me.
He was so close to me I could feel his breath on my skin.
'I guess you just did.' I looked up into his eyes.
'Ah, why do you have such a bad opinion about me? What did Bobby tell you?'
'He told me to stay away from you. So I will.'
'I'm actually really nice.' Hanbin said as he caressed my cheek.
'I don't believe you.' I pushed his hand away.
'Now, would you please leave?' I opened the door for him to leave.
He chuckled as he looked down at the floor.
'Got it. See you tomorrow in school, Harin.' he smiled and left.

What is wrong with him? So rude.

Here we go, another alarm went off.
I hate school from the bottom of my heart but I was comforting myself by saying that this is my last year. I got this.

When I came out of my house, I saw Bobby waiting for me.
'Harin.' he ruffled my hair.
'Ya! I hate when you do that!' I fixed my hair.
'I know.' he said as he chuckled.
Tsk, tsk...

Should I tell Bobby about last night?
Probably not.. It's not such a big deal. I don't want Bobby to freak out and do something.

'What you thinking about so deeply?' Bobby asked. I looked at him.
'What? Why? Nothing. Just tired.' I said.
'Is it about last night?' He asked. My eyes widened. How did he know about Hanbin coming into my house??
'I didn't know they will come. I wanted to keep them away from you. I know what kind of people they are.' Bobby said.
Oh, it's alright. He doesn't know.
'Oh.. No, it's okay. You can't expect better from them. I can take care of myself too.' I said. Bobby smiled.

When I came into the class, I saw Hanbin sitting into my assigned seat.
Ah.. Why me?
I came to him and he ignored me as if I wasn't standing next to him.
I cleared my throat, he raised his head and looked at me.
'Hanbin, this is where I sit.' I said.
'Oh, really? What a coincidence. I didn't know.' Hanbin leaned and crossed his arms.
'You've been taking this class with me for 2 years already and you don't know?'
'I guess I never really noticed. You always sat alone and you were always quiet. How about that we change that now?' He smiled.
'No, thank you.' I turned around as I was about to leave but he stood up and grabbed me by my backpack.
'Sit.' he said. Everyone was staring at us.
'I don't want to sit with you.' I said as I turned around to look at him.
'That's not an option.' he pushed me down on the chair.
Eun came to our table.
'What is going on here?' She asked.
'Nothing. Just making new friends.' Hanbin smiled.
'Harin?' Eun looked at me with a worried expression on her face.
'It's okay. Don't you worry.' I smiled.
The teacher came in and Eun went back to her seat but I saw the confussion on her face.

The teacher's eyes widened when she saw Hanbin sitting next to me. But she ignored.
'So when will you let me take you out on a date?' Hanbin asked. I looked at him with disbelief on my face.
'Never. Not even then.' I said as I wrote notes into my notebook. He sighed.
'Are you playing a girl that's hard to get? That's just making you more interesting.' He said.
'Sure, think whatever you want.' I said as I looked at him.
'Harin and Hanbin! Enough of chatting!' The teacher warned us. I nooded and apologized.
Hanbin didn't say a word until the class ended.
When the class ended, he stood up.
'See you around, Harin.' he smiled and left.
'What the hell?' Eun asked me.

I told her about everything that happend.
'Ah.. I feel sorry for you. Did you tell Bobby about last night? What did he tell you?' She asked me.
'I haven't. And I am not planning to. I know that he will freak out and I don't want more drama.' I sighed. She nooded.

When the school ended, I was waiting in front of the school gates for Bobby.
Everyone came out besides him so I went to look for him.
I was walking down the hallway looking for him but he was nowhere to be found. I called him on his phone too but he wasn't answering.
'Why are you still here?' I heard a voice behind me. It was Hanbin. He leaned against the locker.
'Why are you?' I turned around to face him.
'Why wouldn't I be?' he said as he started walking towards me.
'What are you looking for?' he asked.
'Bobby.' I said.
'Ah, Bobby left after second class. I heard he had some business to do.' he said.
'Oh, okay.' I said as I walked past him.
But he was quick enough to grab my hand and push me into the lockers.
He brought his hands up next to my head and looked down at me.
'Bobby, Bobby, Bobby.. Are you in love with him?'
'N-no.' I said. Why is my voice shaking?
'You don't seem so sure.' he stared at me.
'He is my childhood friend.' I said and he nooded.
'So date tonight?' he smiled.
'You must be crazy.'
'Harin!' I heard someone's voice down the hallway. I looked and it was Bobby.
As he was getting closer to us, I saw bruises and scretches on his face.
'What happend to you?' I said as I ran towards him.
'Nothing. What are you doing here with this punk?'
'Ah.. Bad timing. We were just getting to know each other.' Hanbin smiled as he put his hands in his pockets.
'Let's go, Harin.' Bobby said as he grabbed my hand.

'What happend to your face?' I asked him when we left the school.
'Just had a little fight.' Bobby said as he was looking straight.
'Little fight? But your face...'
'I'm fine, Harin.' he cut you off.
'Who did that to you?' I asked him.
'It doesn't mat-'
'Hanbin's boys?' This time i cut him off but he didn't say a thing.
'I guess that's a yes.' I sighed.
We quickly reached my house.
'It wasn't them, okay?' He sighed.
'Who was it then?' I was curious. Bobby always stayed out of trouble. It wasn't his thing.
'You don't know them.' He said.
'It doesn't matter. You can tell me.'
'Iron, Jay and some of their guys.. sounds familiar to you?'
'No..' I said. 'All of them attacked you?'
He nooded. 'I mean I wasn't alone. Mino was with me. But he didn't pass with no bruises and either..'
'Oh my.. Will you come inside so I can help you a bit with those bruises and scretches?' I asked him.
'No, tha-' I cut him off as I grabbed his hand and dragged him into my house.
'Ya, there is really no ne-'
'Sit there.' you ordered him and he had no choice but to do what you said.
