Chapter 2

Slow start

Yoong was already in his class when his friends came in. "Yo, Yoong. Early as usual. I thought Seohyun is on study trip." One of his good friends, Taeng said as he sat himself next to him. As usual, Yoong choose the middle row seat. "And how did you know that Seohyun is on...ah, I forgot." Yoong said. Once again, he forgot that Taeng already had a girlfriend named Tiffany who is in the same department as Seohyun. While they were talking, the teacher comes in, with someone behind him. Yoong instantly knew the girl. "Yossi?" Yoong said loud enough for the girl to hear him. The said girl looked at him and smiled. She almost waved at him, but she held it in. "Class. Please attention. Today, we have a new student with us. I hope you help her settle in, because she's new in this country as well. Miss, please introduce yourself." The professor said to the girl. "Hello, my name is Jean Yossi, but I preferred to be called Yossi rather than Jean. Please take care of me." Yossi finished her greeting with a bow, not forgetting to cover her shirt. Yoong nudged Taeng's shoulder when he stand up a bit during Yossi's bow. "Now, to show her around the campus...ermm...Ms. Lee? Where is she?" The professor asked, then Taeng raised his hand. "I'm sorry sir, but Sunny, Hyoyeon and Jessica are absent. They have a swimming match today." Taeng said. "That's why I don't see any of the girls today. Then...ah, Mr. Im. It's on you now." Yoong surprised when his name are called. "Why me?" Yoong asked. "In case you forgot, you're the class president." The professor said. "Oh, that's right. Alright, I'll do it." Yoong's answer made the class laughed, including Yossi. "Alright then, Ms. Yossi. You can take a seat next to Mr. Im." Yossi bowed one last time before going to her seat, right to Yoong. Taeng was on his left side. "So, it turns out you're in this class." Yoong said. "Yeah. You know what? I was totally nervous when I saw no girl in this class, but luckily there's you. Someone I already knew." Yossi said. Yoong was about to reply, but

"Ahem." It was Taeng's voice. The two turned to the man beside them. "Aren't you gonna introduce us, Yoong? You clearly knew her, as it turns out." Taeng said. "Ah right. Taeng, this is Yossi. Yossi, this is Kim Taeng. The biggest ert in school." Taeng was about to shake her hand, until the last words came out. "Hey, I quit from that, okay? I have a girlfriend now." Anyway, nice to meet you." Taeng finally shake Yossi's hand, who just awkwardly smile. Soon, the lesson started and the three paid attention. Yossi, who had a "quiet not good" first impression about Taeng was surprised when he answered a difficult question from the professor. Yoong noticed it. "You seem surprised." He said, making her flinch. "Err...well...yeah...a bit...I guess." Yossi said making him laughed. "Don't get him wrong, he maybe like that, but he is the smartest in our class." He said. Yossi just nodded her head, and she was really impressed by Taeng throughout the whole day, until the final bell ring. "Yo, Yoong. Cafeteria?" Taeng asked his friend. "Sorry, Taeng. Remember?" Yoong said while pointing to Yossi. "Ah, I forgot. You have a date." Taeng said, smirking. Yoong just rolled his eyes. "Whatever, Taeng. Come, Yossi." Yoong said, and was about to walk, but Yossi stopped him. "Why don't we headed to the cafeteria first? I'm quite hungry too, actually." Yossi said. When they arrived, Taeng looked around and spotted a man sitting alone in the corner munching his food. He nudged Yoong and pointed the direction.
