The Gunman

 

  Baekhyun scurried into the huge building with the rest of his coworkers, chin tucked into his scarf and hands searching for warmth deep inside his coat pockets. The heat of the company worked to regenerate his limbs, but it was torturously slow. Edinburgh weather would always have you shivering, there was no doubt. Blowing his own heat onto his hands, he rubbed them together as he walked over to the elevator. Inside, he was met by the CEO, Aileen Coburn.      Baekhyun nodded at her as a form of acknowledgement, but as soon as the doors had closed, arms gripped around his waist and swept him into two full s shielded by fabric. He looked up at the woman and rose his brows, “Here?” He whispered, even though it was clear that no one else could see them. Aileen only smirked, “Yeah, here.” Then she slid the scarf down his chin and swooped down to grasp Baekhyun’s lips with her own. Aileen was fast around his mouth-- all hunger and need. Baekhyun tilted his head back to allow her further access and tried to pull his fingers through her charcoal hair, but she grabbed his wrist before he could do so and pinned him against the wall. Baekhyun let out a small groan at the impact. “Tsk, tsk, tsk, not here. You know how hard it is to manage this hair.”    Baekhyun’s lips protruded, left brow quirked. Meanwhile, the elevator was about to come to a stop until Aileen punched in another floor, leaving them more time to eat each other out.     She on the flesh of Baekhyun’s lips and left little to no space in between them, their bodies pressed together like glue. Their tongues slapped and wrestled in a fight for dominance, but Aileen eventually won and claimed Baekhyun’s cavern as her own. The elevator rang and then came to a stop, warning them. “Come to my office after your meeting.” She whispered against his lips just as the doors opened, but by then they were standing at two opposite sides of the elevator. Baekhyun fixed himself as a woman with a few folders and a cup of coffee entered. He looked over at Aileen, who seemed as composed as she could ever be. How she did it, Baekhyun never knew. Maybe she’s had a fling like theirs in the past, or maybe it's the CEO in her.    Eventually, the woman exited and they were left alone again. His floor was right after hers, though, so the doors opened right after one another. But as he walked out, he felt a hard slap sting his buttcheeks. Spinning around, he threw a glare at her as the doors came to a slow close. Aileen had only smirked back.      Shaking his head, he headed to his cubicle and also attempted shake the jitters out of his system. It looked like his shift had started early that day.


     After his meeting was over, Baekhyun headed over to Aileen’s office as he was told. He wondered what it was that she wanted, specifically if it was actually work related or not.    He knocked on her door and waited a couple seconds before opening it. Aileen was facing the window, speaking on the phone with a tone of irritation. Although he was hesitant, he decided to take a seat and waited till she was finished, though he had an inkling to wait outside.   When she was done, she turned around and released a heavy sigh. Baekhyun felt like he should ask what was bothering her, but decided against it.    “Ah, Baekhyun. I didn't even hear you come in.” She said as she turned around, the vexation that had been smothered all over her face having disappeared.    “What was it that you needed?” Baekhyun asked while her heels click-clacked towards the office chair.    “I have a proposal for you.” She revealed after taking a seat.    Baekhyun's eyes creased in curiosity, “A proposal?”    “Yes. Now, this may sound strange--” But before she could even continue, a huge screech pierced through the door and the ceiling and the windows and the walls-- everything that was around them. Whipping his head backwards, Baekhyun scanned the area behind the transparent walls but no one came in sight. Screams could only be heard. “What's going on?” He asked as he stood up, all the while Aileen did the same.    Right then, a man carrying a gun appeared out of nowhere, walking towards the office with strife in his steps. Baekhyun's eyes widened as sheer horror spread across his face. Everything seemed to have frozen as the man sent a bullet crying through the transparent glass.    “Baekhyun! Get down!” Aileen shouted out, and she didn't have to say it twice for Baekhyun to dart to the other the side, where he knelt down against the cement wall and winced at the stinging from the
