He wasn’t supposed to notice him, more like pay him any attention.  He was just supposed to focus in school, earn appealing grades, pass all of his subjects and graduate while enjoying each and every day without anything else to think of, aside from where to get money for his tuition fees and school expenses that is, but no, he shouldn’t be thinking of anything else, anything, most especially about infatuation, yes, because something like what he’s feeling at the moment can’t be called love or so Baekhyun thought.
Still he wasn’t supposed to, but—
Every time he would see him walking outside their building, with his hand shoved inside his front side pocket while his other hand rubbing his eyes, trying to brush the sleepiness away, he could no longer dart his gaze away from him. He would then ask himself if when he ever fancied looking at the sleepy form of a certain someone; or every time he would hear him laughing along with his friends in the dining hall, or see his eyes glimmer with such delight whenever he would go teasing Sehun because, just because, he wasn’t quite sure of the reason; or every time he would see him helping out others, like one day, when their class were asked to bring some new laboratory equipment, he would always see him helping the others carrying the heavy thing, and would even come back to help carry some more, he would then turn his head, thoughts directed outside the window, looking at the latter one’s retreating back. He’s too helpful and kind, Baekhyun could only sigh; or whenever they would meet each other’s gaze, yes, there have been a couple of times, they would just look at each other even for just a split second, getting all too familiar with each other’s face, but never did have the chance to bump into each other nor talk, even.
Just every time things like that would transpire, Baekhyun would then contemplate if when did he ever begun to notice his own self noticing this mundane things about Park Chanyeol, he could only sigh. When did he ever begun to notice this things about him. These small things that as time pass by would starts to cause a little vibration on his chest.
“It’s not just nothing Baek” Kyungsoo would say and the latter one could only stare at him with so much disdain. “For now it is, but eventually, it will be something else” he then would add, shrugging his shoulders.
