Shin's POV
In the TearoomKim Shin had existed for years now. He was starting to lose track. His bride had left him, his sister and best friend had followed shortly after. He was back at square one, except having tasted the nectar of love and friendship, it was agonizingly hard to be alone again. Just like always.
The town had grown, blossomed and changed over the years. His favourite bookshop was now overgrown with ivy and honeysuckle, with stray vines trawling against its once white-washed walls. The streets were grey, worn by the thousands of feet travelling to and fro.
It was a fine winter morning, he supposed. The air was crisp and clear, the chill slightly pinching his ears. Traipsing aimlessly, he came across a movie set. Giving the people milling around a quick onceover, he gaped at the couple arguing in the centre.
It was them. They still wore the same faces. A warm feeling spread across his frozen heart.
It was them. They were here. Without their memories, true, but their soul, the essence of what makes them them were right there, standing just a short distance away from him, unknowing about the invisible bonds that connected them all to each other.
Typical, he thought. Just like that ugly duckling to choose to be an actress. A wry smile etched itself on his face. And Wang Yeo, did he still think he was a grim reaper? Wearing complete black and all, at least he got rid of that vulgar hat.
He focused on the scene unfolding before him.
“YAH! Unhand me, you thickhead! You are supposed to show me how arresting a criminal was done, not arrest me! The ‘criminal’ is there! There!” yelled his sister in petulance.
