The Sun to My Moon

A common saying is that

“You are standing in someone’s shadow”.

I felt that way.

But not exactly.

It’s not that I get no attention.

It’s that I only get attention for

Existing alongside that ‘someone’.

This situation reminded me of the sun

And the moon.

Alone, the moon is just a piece of discarded rock.

But, at night, it reflects the sunlight.

The moon gets attention for being bright and beautiful.

What people don’t always realize

Is that the moon is just stealing from the sun.

It isn’t beautiful on its own.

In my life, I am the moon.

Jeon Jungkook is my sun.

And I don’t know if I mind.
