Goodbyes in the Snow

You looked at the person lying beside you, your fingers intertwined as you rested in the soft snow which rested on the ground in an icy blanket. Breathing in and out quietly, you stared into his eyes.

“Jungkook… please don’t leave me.”

He only smiled sadly in return as he sighed a soft reply. His eyes looked so dull, their usual sparkle hidden by a layer of frost. The snow beneath him turned scarlet.

“I’m sorry…”

“It’s too soon, Jungkook-ah.”

Small tears sparkled at the corners of your eyes, almost fairy-like in nature. 

“I… I think it’s the end…”  Squeezing your hand gently, he took a final, weak breath.

“Please…”

“Goodbye. I love you…”
