Nayeon walks her way to her school, already forming her words and sentences as she returns the umbrella to her cru- ehem, to Doctor Myoui.

 

Holding a warm cup of coffee in her hand, and the umbrella to the other. She can’t help but think that everything that has happened between them was a dream, she couldn’t believe how Myoui Mina noticed her, how Sana is actually her sister, how she tried to forget Mina, but still the unexpected happened and now she even got to hug her from behind. Just remembering about it forms a hue of pink on Nayeon’s cheeks and it is definitely not the cold.

 

Nearing towards the clinic, she sees a luxurious looking car parked in front of it.

 

“Seems like someone from a rich family…” She stops, but shrugs it off.

 

But Nayeon couldn’t help to think about the car. It seems familiar and feels like she has seen it before, just not sure about it. She glances inside the clinic, and learning that it seems busy at the moment, Nayeon decides to just hand it to her later, when she picks Sana after school. Sure, she’ll have excuses to see the beautiful doctor again.

 

“Time to not be late again, Nayeon. You don’t want Jihyo scolding you for breaking your early streak now, do you?

So early in the morning, yet the world doesn’t have any mercy on her and gave her a headache this time of the day. She knew she’d come back, she always does, no matter what she says she’ll always come back. Mina glances at Momo then to Doctor Kang, their expression just the same as hers.

 

“Aren’t you guys happy?” The woman in front of them asks.

 

Doctor Son has been treating some of the patients for today and only stayed a little longer to help them with it. Seulgi did as well, checking the vitals of their patients, but the unexpected comes and they couldn’t help but grunt altogether knowing who was in front of their clinic.

 

“And you guys didn’t even welcome me. How rude. Did my presence disturb you guys so much that you all grunted.”

 

The doctors laugh, they couldn’t help but , she always have the best reactions when teased.

 

“Sorry, it’s just really unexpected. You didn’t even warn us.” Momo smiles, it’s been a while too that they’ve last seen her face.

 

“That’s why it’s called a surprise, Momoring.” The woman in front of them playfully rolls her eyes. “Anyway, busy at the moment, eh? Should I return later? Yeah, probably a lot better, but let’s hang out sometime okay?” She glances at Mina, “And you, we should talk later.”

 

Mina could only nod, and the woman left even before she could answer anything.

 

Mina screamed in shock, she hopes that the patients would understand her even a little bit. And Momo squealed, surprise with the sudden screaming of her friend, so basically the two were just screeching at each other. Seulgi and Wendy almost barged into the room when Mina immediately compose herself and told them that it’s nothing.

 

“WHY THE HECK DID YOU SCREAM?”

 

“I DON’T KNOW WHY DID YOU?”

 

“IT”S BECAUSE YOU SCREAMED THAT I SCREAMED OUT OF SHOCK.”

 

“WHY DID YOU SCREAM AFTER I SCREAMED OUT OF SHOCK NOW YOU’RE THE ONE WHO SCREAMED OUT OF SHOCK.”

 

Seulgi did come barging into their room, holding a clipboard in her hand ready to smack the heads of the two while Wendy is desperately, trying to hold her off.

“Nayeon what would you do? School fair is just weeks away, are you ready for the letters and roses that’s going to be given to you?” Jeongyeon wiggles her eyebrows at her friend, but Nayeon isn’t having any of it.

 

“Oh, wait no. Miss Myoui might feel jealous…” the hint of tease and sarcasm on Jeongyeon’s voice doesn’t even shake her.

 

“Shut up, you ostrich. And no, Doctor Myoui? Jealous? What are we? In another dimension?”

 

“Don’t act as if I didn’t see what happened yesterday, right Jihyo?” Jeongyeon nudges her friend who is currently having a peaceful cup of coffee.

 

Jihyo squints her eyes towards Nayeon, “I can’t believe after saying you’re ‘moving on’ from Miss Myoui then suddenly the world pushes you even closer than before, eh Nayeon? I can’t believe you got to hug her like that. Not a lot of people can do that to their crushes Nayeon, you’re lucky.”

 

Nayeon is pretty sure blood is rushing to her cheeks and she’s also pretty sure she’s beet red now.

 

“Oh shut it. It’s nothing, only an act of gratitude for looking after Sana, and it’s nothing really.” She mutters, standing up to attend her class now. Bringing the stacks of papers with her, which is the reply slip to be given to her students for the fair. She can still hear Jeongyeon and Jihyo giggling at the distance, but Nayeon only shrugs it off.

 

Just thinking of it, the possibility of Mina and her happening is impossible. How do they even make up these scenarios? That's just insane for Nayeon, she knows she couldn't reach Mina, no matter how hard she tries.

 

“Aw!” The sudden arrival of a new voice woke Nayeon, and she blinks, only to know she stepped on someone's foot.

 

“Ah! Teacher Minhyuk. I'm so sorry!” Nayeon immediately lift her foot and stepped backwards.

 

So much for not being clumsy, I guess.

 

He chuckles and Nayeon is confused, “No, no. I'm fine, Miss Im. Don't worry about it,” He shrugs it off but Nayeon could see past the fake acting. He was struggling, her heels must have been pushed into his feet, and Nayeon could only grimace at the pain he's having.

 

“I... am really sorry,” she mumbles, and helps him towards the school clinic.

 

“I really am sorry, Minhyuk ssi.” Nayeon bows before leaving the infirmary. She is flustered, out of all the things she least expected to happen today, it was stepping on someone's foot. This day really had to be something.

 

But not long, did she feel a tug on her hand and she almost squeals because Nayeon is sure she's alone at the hallway right now.

 

“Hi Teacher Im!” Sana's cheeky smile greets her, appearing behind Nayeon as she pulls Tzuyu and Dahyun.

 

“Sana? What are you doing here? I thought you children know the school rules of not leaving the classroom until the teacher arrives. I'm disappointed to the three of you for breaking that.” Nayeon frowns, looking at the three small faces in front of her.

 

“You see, teacher...” Sana starts, forming incoherent words in but Nayeon could only understand the 'Hng'

 

“You see, Teacher Im, being the good students that we are. We only wanted to help you carry these papers because for, uh, what happened a while ago. We never wanted you to be disappointed and we are sorry if we did.”

 

Everyone stood, shocked with how Tzuyu delivered her words. With the exception of Nayeon whose face seems unreadable at the moment. How can a kindergarten speak so fluently?

 

“What?”

 

The two sighed, Sana and Tzuyu, giving up on the idea. While Dahyun, the heaping ball of sunshine whose smile could literally lit up even the darkest places, offers her a pack of sweets.

 

“Want some jelly bean, teacher?”

“This won't work, Chewy. Nayeon unnie has been too preoccupied with her work. She won't notice how that other teacher tried to make a move on her!” Sana whisper shouts, but minus the whisper. She literally screamed in Tzuyu's face.

 

“Oh, stop overreacting Sana unnie. They barely talked with each other, and that was only an accident.”

 

“She's right, unnie.” Dahyun quips, "We were lucky Teacher Im didn't notice what were up to."

 

“But you see! That guy is going to try and make a move on Miss Im and I being the good student that I am won't let it happen. HE did it on PuRposE.”

 

“Why am I even bothering with this?” Dahyun asks.

 

“Why are we even bothering Miss Im's life?” Tzuyu asks.

 

“Why are we even following her?” Dahyun points towards Sana.

 

“Okay shush to the both of you!”

The piling of her works, the procrastination, the stress, Mina doesn't even know why she's still a doctor. Or maybe, she just really need their mother to come back now, because she really couldn't handle this alone. She clearly wasn't in the mood for today, after everything and seeing her again just after what? A couple of days? Mina is sure she's doomed again.

 

“Thinking of someone, perhaps?” Momo grins and Mina is thankful for waking her consciousness back.

 

“Not really,”

 

“Oh, okay...”

 

A few moments of silence and Mina was feeling something weird about it. She squints her eyes at Momo, “Spill it. You want to say something.”

 

And there she sees the flash of grin, the glint in Momo's eyes, she tries to hide how wide her smile is but she can't, not when there's only the two of them anyway. “It's about last night. So? How did it go? Did Miss Im made your heart palpitate? Huh, Mina? I'm pretty sure it did, guessing how red both your faces are after.”

 

“Oh shut it Momo,” Mina shoves her friend away but she couldn't hide the smile coming out.

 

“Don’t me, Mina. You should treat Sana and me, we really did a big help to your relationship with Miss Im.”

 

“What? Excuse me, relationship? I don’t fall for our patients, Momo.” Mina crosses her arms, shakes her head by the thought of it.

 

“Oh, don’t even bother with the ‘I don’t fall for our patients’. I know, YOU know you don’t treat Nayeon like that. Just tell me, you enjoyed her hugging you last night, didn’t you?” Momo gives her a teasing look and Mina couldn’t help but snort, “That sounds creepy. Just stop talking alright. And wow, you and Miss Im are on a first name basis now?”

 

Momo feigns a shocked expression, grinning towards Mina, “Don’t be too jealous, Mina. You’re so obvious.”

 

“I’m not jealous!”

“Children, don’t forget to remind your parents about the family day, okay? It will happen soon, and I’m sure all of you will enjoy.” Nayeon smiles to her students who are seated on the floor, surrounding her. They just finished their story telling about some big bad wolf and a little girl, and Nayeon was preparing them because it will be dismissal time soon.

 

“Now, fix your bags,” She says and stands up, the children following after. She glances at them, teaching children art is a wonderful feeling, and she hopes that her parents could see that she loves what she’s doing right now.

 

She didn’t realize how much she has been staring into nothingness when Tzuyu pokes her arm, “Teacher Im? Are you alright?” she asks, brows furrowing with the unusual action of her teacher.

 

“Of course, I’m fine. Now shall we go? The happy train will leave any moment.” Nayeon felt a tug on her heart when Tzuyu smiles, little by little.

 

As the bell rings, the children hurries to form a line, and all went outside. Nayeon warns the other students to not run while going outside, but as usual, they’re too excited to go home.

 

“Nayeon,” She looks around, and finds the last person she wanted to see again at the moment.

 

“Oh Minhyuk ssi. I am very sorry for what happened earlier. Please forgive me. I didn’t mean to step on your foot. I wasn’t looking where I’m going, and I—“

 

“Don’t worry, Nayeon. I’m just here to say it’s alright. Knowing you, I know you’d be worried about it. And no need to be too formal.” He says, and silence fell upon them, as Nayeon tried to awkwardly cough and leave away.

 

“Teacher!” Nayeon sighed; she prays that Minhyuk wouldn’t hear about it. It’d be totally weird if he did, that just proves that Nayeon doesn’t want to talk to him right now.

 

“Well, Minhyuk ssi. I’ll get going.” Nayeon bowed and hurriedly walked towards Sana.

 

“Our little Sana is really impatient, huh? And it’s still early don’t worry. I won’t leave you alone.” Sana smiles at her teacher’s reaction, definitely she grew too close to her teacher, almost treating her like her own sister. But the moment had to be cut off as someone caught Sana’s attention and her eyes grew wide the moment she saw her.

 

“Unnie?!” Nayeon raises a brow. It’s still too early for Doctor Myoui to come.

 

“Sana! It’s been so long!” Nayeon almost whipped her head towards the owner of the voice. That was definitely not Mina’s. Sana rushed to the stranger and hugged her tight. The woman carried Sana and ‘booped’ her on the nose, while Sana is giggling. Nayeon could still not process any of this.

 

“I’ll be the one to get you home, alright? I’m doing your unnie a favor,”

 

Nayeon thinks it’s time to speak now, the woman looks rich, rich af. “Uhm, excuse me but are you a guardian of Sana?”

 

Obviously Nayeon she is. With how Sana reacted and how close they seem to act with each other of course she is.

 

“Oh, yes. I’ll be the one to pick her up today. We’re going shopping~” The woman says, not leaving her eyes on Sana as she lays her down again.

 

But there’s still an itch on Nayeon and she couldn’t help but scratch it, “I’m sorry but school rules but Doctor Myoui told me that she’d be the only one to get her little sister.” It was true, it really was. She just couldn’t go around trusting people.

 

Sana speaks, holding the woman’s hands, “Oh! Don’t worry Teacher Im, she’s my sister’s—“

 

“Girlfriend. Her sister’s girlfriend.” The woman smiled in front of her and Nayeon’s mouth dropped.

 

“Oh, I… really.”

 

“We have to go. Don’t worry, teacher, I’ll take care of her, she’s like my little sister too.” They both leave suddenly, leaving Nayeon dumbstruck.

 

Nayeon couldn’t help but feel a little bit of her blood boil. (Let’s be honest, it’s not ‘little bit’) The woman is pretty, obviously rich, and very elegant and classy like Mina. How can doctor Myoui not like that woman, she’s like the equal of Mina in all aspects. Compared to her, awkward, shy, a human being, who only has an average salary, just the total opposite of that woman.

 

“What am I thinking? A chance with Doctor Myoui, that’s not happening. Why are you so delusional, Nayeon?”

Mina is already walking towards the school, she couldn’t help but feel that today is going to be a good one compared to earlier. Just one glance at Miss Im and she’s sure her day would be complete. She just didn’t think of that.

 

Arriving at the school gate, she’s confused as to why there’s barely any student left. Sana is supposed to be on that bench, sitting beside Miss Im who, as usual, looks very cute, and pretty with her bunny smile, and all Mina could hear is her heart pounding.

 

“What the heck? Sana and Momo must’ve occupied my mind too much,” She shakes her head off, and asks the guard. Instead of worrying about her sister’s whereabouts, why is she daydreaming about a certain teacher? Goodness, Mina, you’re a bad sister.

“Nayeon ssi? Someone on the gates is looking for you, someone named Myoui Mina?” The guard peeks at the door, and almost the whole room went silent with the name, no, only the three did, actually.

 

Jeongyeon must’ve expected for her to be smiling like a fool, Jihyo must be expecting her to be shocked, but the two were surprised when Nayeon didn’t even bat an eye, and just stood up with a stoic face.

 

“Oh, no. What happened?” Jihyo asks, looking at Jeongyeon but her friend could only shrug her shoulders, “I have no idea.”

Nayeon walks toward the gates, composing herself to be professional even though she couldn’t erase her flushed cheeks when remembering about the events of last night.

 

Doctor Myoui is here for her sister, not you. And she has a girlfriend. She reminds herself.

 

“Hi, Miss Im.” Nayeon wants to erase the smile off Mina’s angelic, beautiful, perfect, heavenly face.

 

Stop smiling at me like that.

 

“I’m sorry if your busy but—“

 

“Yes, I’m busy.”

 

The short response took Mina aback. And she couldn’t help but be speechless about it. Sure, she’s not expecting Nayeon to be friends or something with her, it’s not like they have something right?

 

“Oh… well, then I’m sorry about it but my sister, I told you that I’d be the only to pick her up so why don’t I see anyone around here?”

 

If Nayeon wasn’t that heartbroken, she would’ve squealed at Mina’s confused reaction.

 

“Why do you have to be so cute?” she mutters.

 

“Excuse me?”

 

“I mean your girlfriend took her. Don’t worry, Sana seems to be in safe hands. Your little sister seems to know her very well. And your girlfriend is really beautiful, you two suit each other.” Nayeon couldn’t help but feel that the last one shouldn’t really be said. It was completely unnecessary but what can she do?

 

She feels bitterness spreading all over her body, and she can’t help but feel irritated. She knows she should have ‘moved on’ from the feelings she’s having for the doctor but why did she have to believe in false hopes? It was obvious Mina has a girlfriend, with a face like that? She can get any man or woman she wants in her hands in the matter of seconds.

 

“I-Girlfriend?”

 

“Yes, girlfriend, you know the one you like and love to be with. Now if you’ll excuse me I still have things to do Doc Myoui. Goodbye.” Nayeon turns her back and Mina couldn’t help but feel her heart beating, okay, pissed Nayeon is hot, and she doesn’t even know why she’s thinking of that when her sister’s gone with her “girlfriend” and she’s utterly confused with how Miss Im is acting.

 

What did I do wrong?

 

Then a sudden ring on her phone, jolts her up, and she almost tosses it if she didn’t caught it too quickly.

Mina couldn’t help but sigh in relief, but still confused with what happened. But still the feeling of clarifying things with Nayeon hunts her. She definitely needs to ask Sana about it.
