the sun's lullaby
story 7
It was Monday, a day of a new beginning, a new start, a new ray of light, a brand new sky painted in blue.
And it was not a day of goodbyes, a day of separation or loss.
They tried to make it that way.
"Seulgi, why did you let go?"
"Of who?"
"Isn't it obvious?" The boy in front of her restrained himself, sitting across of her. The girl remained indifferent. It had been nine years since that time. They were too old to go berserk for the loss of love.
"There was..something wrong with me. That is why I let go."
"We could have fixed it together, Seulgi."
"Not this one," she shook her head earnestly. "It was never your fault."
Wonwoo pondered. He didn't know that Seulgi had the kind of love that it was enough for her to see him this close without having him. Having him too close instead terrified her.
"We have grown up, Wonwoo. I hope you can forgive me."
He only sighed, looking up to familiar feline eyes, warm and will never be his. "It's always there for you, Seulgi."
