Kyuhyun

Eunhyuk helps me back to the apartment and as we step in, I stiffened because… I hear it again. Someone is crying. Again. I pale and stand still and Eunhyuk senses my sudden reaction. He looks around and then releases me and walks over to the light switch, switching on the lights in the living room.

This time, Eunhyuk stiffens just like how I did. Because right there, leaning against the walls of the living room is Donghae in his pyjamas. He has his body hugged tightly against his chest and his head on his knees and he’s… Rocking himself back and forth. Eunhyuk turns and his fearful eyes meets mine. This is not normal. Something is happening.

I hear Eunhyuk clear his throat, “Do… Donghae?”

Donghae doesn’t look up, his body does not even react and Eunhyuk calls out his name a little bit louder. Still, no reaction. This time, Eunhyuk moves closer and kneels down next to Donghae and touches his shoulder. Donghae stops rocking his body and then finally, finally looks up. But he doesn’t look at Eunhyuk who is right beside him, he looks straight at me. Eunhyuk senses this and then looks at me too.

“Is… Is something wrong, baby?” Eunhyuk asks with an unsure voice.

Donghae slowly shakes his head, still not saying anything else. His eyes are wide and his skin is paler than usual.  Eunhyuk then touches Donghae’s face, cupping it and then instantly legging go, his expression surprised.

“Ha.. Hae… Your skin… Feels… Cold.” Eunhyuk stutters, “Are... Are you okay?”

Donghae does not answer but continues staring right at me. Eunhyuk uncomfortably shifts and then wraps his arms around Donghae’s and pulls him up, “Come... Come… Let’s get you to bed as well.”

Donghae moves as Eunhyuk helps him back to their room but as he pass by me, he stares at me and it feels like he’s staring right down straight to my soul. A shiver creeps down my spine as I shift uncomfortably. The aura Donghae is transmitting feels… Different. I am not the only one who feels this way because Eunhyuk looks slightly uncomfortable too but he continues guiding Donghae back to their room and then she closes the door behind them, leaving me alone feeling uneasy and creeped out by everything’s that happened.

I crack my eye open as I feel the morning sun settles in through the window, warm against my skin. I sit up and then stretch my arms out, feeling very satisfied for the good long sleep. I glance over to my boyfriend who is still asleep and then grin, leaning down to peck his full lips. He doesn’t stir and I giggle as I rest my chin on his chest, staring up at Kyuhyun’s handsome face.

I sigh in content, running my fingers over his face. Times like these are when my past haunts me. When Kyuhyun makes me realize that he is too good for me, too special for me and that I do not deserve someone like Kyuhyun. My fingers stoke Kyuhyun’s soft cheeks, admiring how sharp features and long eyelashes.

“I love you,” I quietly whisper, my voice thick with emotions, “I’m so… Sorry.”

It was a mistake. I hadn’t meant for it to happen but it did and there is no way for me to redeem myself except try to be the best boyfriend to Kyuhyun. Kyuhyun doesn’t have to know, no one has to. I can live with this guilt all my life on my own if it means that I will not lose Kyuhyun. I love him too much to let him go and I know if Kyuhyun ever finds out about what happened in the past then…

That’d be the end of us.

That’d break his heart.

That’d break mine too.

And I don’t think I can survive through the heartbreak.

Not wanting to dwell on it any longer, I brush my lips against Kyuhyun’s once more and then force myself out of bed. Kyuhyun and I have plans to hang out with our hyungs today and go do some sight-seeing. It’s a weekend and coincidentally, we all are free of schedules for the day so we decided to go out and have a little bit of fun.

I shower and get dressed and then head to the kitchen, deciding that I should just start on breakfast since everyone else is still asleep. It’s still a little early but I’m used to waking up early for schedules so I don’t mind. I’m in the midst of cracking some eggs to make some scrambled eggs when I hear shuffling of feet. I turn around and smile at my hyung.

“Good morning, Donghae hyung!” I chirp.

Donghae does not reply and I chuckle. This hyung still looks so effortlessly handsome even after just waking up. He is still in pyjamas and his hair is sticking up in every direction and I wonder if the hyungs had a long night with each other. I return my attention to the eggs and then continue making breakfast thinking that Donghae had left and went to shower.

I’m cutting up some vegetables for a chicken broth when I stiffened as I feel cold breath hitting against my neck. I side-glance and release a startled laugh. “Hyung! You scared me!”

Donghae is standing so close that I can almost feel his body pressed up against mine from behind. I shift a little, my attention still focused on the vegetables. But a minute passed and Donghae still has himself pressed against my back and I am starting to feel a little uncomfortable.
