“What’s your name?” The nurse asked before preparing the gauze and water for cleaning the latter’s wound. “Yoo Jeongyeon.” She answered. “Which platoon?”

“The 3rd, under Lieutenant Kim.” Jeongyeon looked at the tools that the nurse prepared for her. “Chaeyeon, can you please send a message to Lieutenant Kim that Private Yoo is not going to the training session today?” The nurse spoke to Chaeyeon, the other nurse that walked past them. “Sure I will, Mina.”

Myoui Mina. That’s her name.

“This might be a bit painful.” Mina then washed the wound that could be seen on Jeongyeon’s nose. Jeongyeon closed her eyes tightly as she started to feel the stinging pain of her wound.

“You’re already doing really good,” Mina whispered, but loud enough for Jeongyeon to hear.

“Excuse me?”

Mina continued to wash the blood stain off Jeongyeon’s face and said, “For whatever reason that you joined the army… you are doing really good.”

“Thank you… I guess.”

They immediately fell into silence, her reply made their little conversation ended quickly. But after a few moments, Jeongyeon grinned.

“Why are you smiling?” Mina questioned, starting to think maybe Private Yoo also injured her head.

“Usually people ask why I joined the army… but you didn’t.” Jeongyeon paused, “I am surprised.”
