Prince Charming's Masquerade

Mijoo in Fairytale Land

"This place is a mess," Nayoung said as she stared around the cabin, lifeless.

"And who's fault is that?" Soyee asked as she turned to her with a glare.

"Obviously not mine," Nayoung said as she suddenly looked at her nails to make sure they were still good despite the mess she had made while preparing for Sejeong's birthday.

"Sometimes I want to choke you," Soyee replied grumpily before she lost energy and slumped back on the couch, "But then I remember how much I hate my own life and there's no point."

"Come on girls," Haebin said as she got up and tried cleaning up the cabin, "We're doing this for our lovely Sejeong. We've watched her grow up and now-"

Haebin held her hand against as she felt herself getting emotional and tried to restrain herself.

Nayoung who was focused on her nails glanced up at Haebin and rolled her eyes. "Please. She's getting so old, she's already the same age as Soyee. We're lucky to be never-aging, but Sejeong is just so unfortunate."

"Yeah, before you know it she's going to try to rule over us," Soyee grumbled as she crossed her arms.

"You know, I wonder how she's never questioned us looking this young after all those years of taking care of her," Nayoung said.

"It's because we actually do look old," Soyee said with a lifeless face.

"Okay, whatever. Let's just clean this place up, finish the cake, and the dress," Haebin said as she passed Nayoung a broom.

"What's this?" Nayoung asked as she looked at the thing in her hand with disgust.

"A broom. To clean up."

"You expect me to clean up, with this? No," Nayoung said with a stern voice as she shook her head. "Nuh uh. No more. I've held it in long enough for twenty-two years now," Nayoung said as she started walking upstairs to the chest that had been locked for twenty-two years.

"No Nayoung, we can't!" Haebin yelled out, but Nayoung was already gone.

"Just let her," Soyee sighed tirelessly, "We need magic."

Haebin couldn't argue. The three girls were completely hopeless without magic, it was a true mystery how they'd survived so long.

"So," Mijoo mumbled to herself as she walked around the forest, trying to find something or someone. "Why am I here? In this messed up Wonderland?" She asked as she looked up at the sky, as if an answer would fall on her.

But it didn't.

"Maybe I'm in a story," She mumbled to herself as she looked around, "and in a story, there's never any empty moments, meaning-!"

"Mijoo!"

The blonde girl let out a gasp, recognizing the high pitched voice and turned around to find YooA and Ten... on a magic carpet.

"A magic carpet?" Mijoo asked as she watched the magic carpet lower down on to the ground. Oh right, they're Aladdin and Princess Jasmine.

"It's a long story," Ten said as they got off the carpet and walked over to Mijoo. "So, we're headed to the kingdom, and I know a couple of kids that can lead us there.

"Kids?" Mijoo asked as she raised an eyebrow, questioning Ten.

He only nodded before he started walking off, leaving Mijoo and YooA to follow him.

I have no room left to question these things.

"Yoooo Choi Sungyoon wassss u-?!" Jangjun stopped himself when he noticed everyone in the market turned around to look at him as if he were some lunatic and realized this was the fairytale world and not his real world. "I mean. . . My good friend Sungyoon!"

The older boy who went by the name of Sungyoon had stopped talking to one of the merchants and walked over to the loud guy. "Hey, what are you doing here?"

"You know how you're kind of obsessed about looking like a rabbit and brag about it all the time?" Jangjun asked.

Sungyoon was taken back and quickly tried denying, "I never do that," but he knew that was a lie. "I just get told I look like a rabbit because of my buck teeth."

"You talk about it as if it's something to be proud of all the time." Jangjun scoffed. "You even said you liked getting told that and that you felt cute or whatever-"

"Shhh okay, so why are you bringing this up?" Sungyoon asked, getting embarrassed the more Jangjun spoke.

"Well, I'm actually a rabbit."

Sungyoon didn't say a word. He stood there, staring blankly at Jangjun for a few seconds, before he to laugh loudly and uncontrollably. "What?! You?! A rabbit?! That's hilarious!"

"Shhhh!" Jangjun tried to shush his friend. He saw the people staring at them and grabbed Sungyoon's wrist and dragged him to the woods.

"Why are we going into the woods?"

"Because things will be more private there," Jangjun said. "Prince Taeyong's kingdom may not be the biggest but it sure is very gossipy."

When the two had gotten deeper into the woods, Jangjun sighed and turned around to his friend. "I'm going to show you and tell you something, and I don't want you to freak out. We're best friends in the real world, so I think I should be able to trust you here too, and as my best friend, you should know."

"Why are you talking like this? You're beginning to scare me," Sungyoon said. "Have you been talking to that one fortune teller with the missing eye at the end of the street again?"

"What? No! Just look."

Without anymore words, Jangjun did his transformation into the white rabbit, and a book suddenly appeared in his hands. He looked at Sungyoon, patiently waiting for his reaction, but the boy completely knocked out and landed face straight on the hard ground.

Jangjun let out a sigh and transformed into his human formed. "I should've known," He mumbled as he kicked Sung Yoon's body.

~~

"What is this?" Haeryung asked as she opened the door to her potion shop with astonishment.

"Thank God you live in the same kingdom," was all Jangjun said as he dragged Sungyoon's body in. "I can't imagine having to drag him all the way to any other kingdom."

"How did you find out where I live?"Haeryung asked as she quickly closed the door and locked it, put up the closed signed, and began to pull the shutters to every window.

"I looked inside the book. Anyways, I need you to work your magic and turn him into a bunny like me."

"What?!" Haeryung asked as she turned to face Jangjun, who was placing Sungyoon on a couch. "I can't do that!"

"Sure you can!" Jangjun exclaimed as he clapped his hands. "Aren't you like half-fairy and half-witch or something?"

"Yes, but magic doesn't just work like that," Haeryung scoffed.

"Just try," Jang Jun shrugged. "I'm sure you'll find something.

Haeryung rolled her eyes, but walked over to her bookshelf and began to take out many books. "Meeting you was definitely a curse."

"I don't know why everyone says that about me."

~~

When Sungyoon woke up he found himself staring directly at a rabbit who laid in a relaxed manner while reading from a book. He blinked twice, trying to make his vision focus more. But it was real.

Suddenly the white rabbit noticed he was staring at him and he sat up. "He's finally up!" He exclaimed, and suddenly, transformed into his friend Jangjun

Sungyoon quickly sat up, crawling all the way up against the wall in fear. "It wasn't a dream!"

"Calm down, Sungyoon," Jangjun said as he sat besides him. "And let me explain. I'm still the same Jangjun you know, just calm down."

Sungyoon slowly nodded and looked around. This was a potion shop, from the looks of it, and there was a girl in there, standing behind a table looking through various books before pouring something into a big pot.

"Okay. . ."

And Jangjun began to explain. He told Sungyoon about the two different world and Mijoo who was just like him and came from the real world. He told him about fairytales and the fairytale book he read from and his narrating job. And Sungyoon just listened with much interest as he nodded and held an amazed look the entire time.

Jangjun wasn't sure if he understood or believed him, but by the time he was done, Sungyoon was quite into the idea of turning into a rabbit to help him.

"I have it ready," Haeryung said as she poured it into a small, glass tube and handed it to Sungyoon. "One sip and you'll last in a bunny form for 24 hours. There really shouldn't be any side effects, but if something out of the ordinary happens make sure to come and see me."

Sungyoon nodded, and held the glass tube tightly. He slowly opened it and eyed it suspiciously before he took a small sip. He pursed his lips and- poof! He was just like Jangjun.

"Great!" Jangjun said happily. "Now it's time for the ball!"

~~

"No, put that up there!" Jaehwan yelled at one of the palace servants who stood on a ladder, hanging decorations in the ballroom. He turned to another servant and yelled at her for not having the food ready, before he walked around and continued yelling at everyone.

"He's crazy," Jaemin mumbled as he watched his oldest brother run around like crazy.

Jaehyun slightly shook his head as he stood by Jaemin with his arms crossed. "He's been preparing this for like crazy. I don't even understand the big deal."

"The big deal," A voice appeared out of nowhere, "is that he's the highest rank in this kingdom at the age of twenty-three, and every other kingdom and the townspeople are watching his every move, waiting for him to slip up."

Jaemin and Jaehyun turned around to see Taekwoon, one of their brother's closest friends, standing next to him as he also kept his eyes on the crazy Jaehwan.

"Hyung!" Both Jaehyun and Jaemin exclaimed simultaneously.

"When did you come back?! We thought you wouldn't make it," Jaehyun asked.

Taekwoon was a servant at the palace, and personal close friend of Jaehwan who always helped keep him in place with the help of Hakyeon, another palace servant.

"I got back this morning. I would never miss a palace event," Taekwoon answered.

The two boys nodded as they looked back at their oldest brother. "That's good," Jaehyun sighed. "Jaehwan really needs you in his life."

"He needs you two too," Taekwoon replied short and simply, like most of his replies.

"Doubt it," Jaemin mumbled as he leaned against the wall with his arms crossed and looked down at the floor. But before Jaehyun or Taekwoon could say anything, he looked back up with a smile and said, "What are your plans for this ball? I'm planning on finding myself a beautiful princess."

"Keep dreaming kid," Taekwoon scoffed. Jaemin could only pout before he turned to his older brother Jaehyun and asked, "What about you?"

"You know, Jaehyun, just because your older brother hasn't married, doesn't mean you shouldn't think about it," Taekwoon told the middle child. "In not long you'll be at marrying age, and if you don't have someone you love by then, I can assure you Jaehwan will find you someone you won't love."

Jaehyun let Taekwoon's words run through his head and soon a sigh escaped his lips. "You're right. And honestly, I've thought the same. I always want to find myself love, but when I think about what I want, I can't figure it out."

"Don't worry, I'm sure you'll find someone hyung," Jaemin said as he patted his older brother's back. "Love comes in the most unimaginable ways."

~~

"Where are you Kihyun?" Yein mumbled to herself as she paced around in the little cottage.

Yein, Wonho, and Jooheon had all arrived safely back home in time for the ball, and had nothing to do but get ready and wait for Kihyun's return.

"He's not going to make it," Wonho sighed as he watched the sun set and closed the curtains, "There goes our plan of months preparations."

Yein picked up her dress that was neatly folded on top of one of the chairs. She held it up and stared at the beautiful long, red gown. It was made of the finest silk in land, and it showed her cleavage nicely. It had many sequins around the waist, and although she was one too hate fancy things as so, she gave credit to Kihyun for picking something that fit her so well and she didn't hate.

"He'll make it," Yein said as she also grabbed her matching red mask, which covered her eyes and side of her face, but left and forehead in the open. It had black feathers on the side that was covered up until her head, and it gave off a mysterious look when used. "For the meantime, let's get ready."

Jooheon and Wonho looked at each other, not sure if they should ruin Yein's hopes, but decided to go along with it. After all, Kihyun could never disappoint Yein.

~~

"A ball?" Jisoo asked as she looked up at Kihyun. "We're attending a ball?"

"That's what I said," He said as he kept his eyes forward, making sure he was heading in the right direction. It was getting dark, fast, and soon he wouldn't be able to see anything.

"I've never been to one," Jisoo mumbled as she looked down.

Kihyun suddenly brought the horse to a stop and glanced back at Jisoo with a questioning look. "You're a princess."

"I am, but my step-mother..." Jisoo stopped as she tried to find the right words, but Kihyun didn't need to listen any more.

"All right, well," Kihyun said as he looked up at the sky, "hold on real tight Princess Seo. If you want to make it to your first ball we need to hurry."

And before Jisoo could say anything else, Kihyun pulled the rein and the horse went off at an incredible speed.

~~

"Those are the kids that are showing us the way to the kingdom?" Mijoo asked skeptically as she watched a young boy and girl from afar, bickering as they pushed and bumped each other.

"Unfortunately, yes," Ten said before he walked up to the kids and YooA and Mijoo had no choice but to follow.

"Donghyuck, Yerim, long time no see!" Ten called out to the kids.

The bickering children stopped and turned around to face Ten, and immediately they both scoffed, rolled their eyes, and went back to bickering.

"Something tells me they don't like you," YooA said as she appeared at Ten's side and she looked at the bickering duo.

"It's a long story," He mumbled. "Donghyuck, Yerim, I'm sorry I left you two last time, but I really need a huge favor."

Yerim, the girl with light brown hair and big bright eyes turned to face Ten and let out sneer. He obviously made her sickened. "If you were truly sorry you wouldn't have left us in the quicksand to die!"

"What was I supposed to do? The royal guards were after me! And, in my defense, I sent Yuta to help out," Ten said trying to defend himself.

"Yeah, and he only laughed at us," Donghyuck said as he crossed his arms and turned around to shun him. Yerim, the older sister, followed her brother's movements and Ten was left baffled.

"You did them so wrong," Mijoo said as she shook her head.

YooA, who was aware that it was getting late and knew they had little to no time, decided to deal with things herself. She stood in front of the two kids and lowered her mask so that her full face could be seen. "Listen, kids, I know that Ten is a bit of an , but my friend," She said as she pointed at Mijoo, "and I need to get to the main kingdom of Prince Jaehwan for his ball."

Yerim and Donghyuck exchanged a look and following their instincts, Yerim asked, "And who are you?"

"I'm Siah," YooA answered her alias.

"Lies," Donghyuck snapped, "we know a princess when we see one."

Ten, Mijoo, and YooA all looked at each other in astonishment. "What?"

"We're not dumb," Yerim answered as she scanned YooA. "Your clothes, despite being all black and seeming like your average street rags, are obviously expensive material. Even that sword of yours."

"And your elegance and way of speaking, and your oozing aura of a princess," Donghyuck said as he clicked his tongue and shook his head, "You're way too obvious."

Ten rolled his eyes and pushed YooA to the side, seeing how she was too in shock to continue on. "Okay, what do you kids want?"

Yerim and Donghyuck looked at each other, and a sudden sly smile appeared on their face. One of which Ten knew all too well. It was the same look they'd had that one time right before they stole his clothes while he bathed in the lake and left him no choice but to wear a dress they'd left him.

"You carry something expensive, don't you?" Yerim asked as she luge glanced down at Ten's waist.

He looked down to see what she was on about, and saw his small bag hanging from his belt. The one in which he carried the jewels. His hand quickly went down to cover it as he couldn't help but shout, "No! Don't you two even think about it!"

"Too late," Donghyuck said as he held up a jewel in his hand.

Ten quickly looked down at his bag and back at Donghyuck. He grabbed his bag and looked inside, counting all jewels only to find that one was missing.

"How'd you two-?!"

"Anyways, you two girls can't show up at Prince Jaehwan's ball like that," Yerim said as she looked at Mijoo who's dress had been ripped and dirtied when she ran through the forbidden forest, and then at YooA who seemed to wear man rags. "Follow me and I can get you two some fine dresses."

YooA and Mijoo nodded and followed Yerim through the forest. Donghyuck and Ten followed behind the two girls, and the older boy couldn't help but ask a burning question. "So when will you finally tell me how your sister and you can do that?"

"Please," Donghyuck scoffed, "it's a secret we learned through survival."

"Yein, we have to leave," Wonho said as he walked into the room and grabbed his mask.

Yein, who stood by the window for an hour straight, turned to look at him. A soft smile appeared on her lips, although she held a sad gaze. "You look good when you clean up," She said as she scanned his white and gold suit.

"I've always said I'm a handsome guy," Wonho said as an overly confident smile appeared on his face. "But seriously, Yein, it's time to go."

Yein let out a sigh and reached for her own mask. "Jooheon, let's go!" She called out as she headed for the door. "Looks like we have to do this on our own."

Jooheon, who was struggling with his suit, walked out into the room and Yein had no choice but to go up to him and help out. "Sometimes I worry for you," She mumbled as she helped him fix his tie.

The jiggling of keys made everyone in the room stop and turn to look at the door, suddenly feeling more anxious than before.

"Is that-" Yein mumbled as the door opened and in walked a very work out looking Kihyun followed by a very pretty girl.

"Kihyun!" Wonho shouted out as he and Jooheon ran over and practically tackled him down. "We thought you weren't going to make it!"

"Yein was so worried!" Jooheon cried and Yein immediately shot him a glare.

"No I wasn't," Yein scoffed as her arms crossed and her eyes rolled. But she quickly took that look off and walked over to Kihyun with a softer look. "Where were you? Did the guys say they would help? And. . ." She sent the girl who awkwardly stood there a glance, "who is she?"

"Look, we don't have much time, so can you help out Princess Seo Jisoo get ready for the ball and then we can talk?" Kihyun said as he put emphasis on Jisoo's name so Yein would get the hint.

Yein could be really slow at times, but with these things she was very sharp and age quickly picked up what happened. Somehow, in his little adventure, he managed to pick up Princess Jisoo. And for whatever plan he'd built up in that brilliant head of his, he kept her.

"Okay," Yein said without further questions and turned to Jisoo. "Follow me," She said before she spun around and walked upstairs.

Jisoo followed behind and the two girls walked into a room and shut the door behind them. "We need to change you into this dress," Yein said as she took out a beautiful white dress with lace and ribbons that went for beautiful decorations.

Jisoo nodded and started changing. Yein took notice of her actions and immediately she was able to recognize that Jisoo indeed had been raised as a princess. She was graceful, elegant, and when she put on that dress, she shone.

"I'm Yein," She said as I stuck out her hand to Jisoo. "And I have a feeling we're going to be working closely together for a while."

Jisoo looked at Yein's hand and then at Yein. A smile crept on her face and she gladly shook with all her grace and elegance. "I'm Princess Jisoo, but you can just refer to me as Jisoo."

"It would be my honor."

"But why does-"

"Just read from the book, Sungyoon," Jangjun said as he pushed his friend ahead of him.

"Fine," Sungyoon said and cleared his throat before he began to read from the book.

"Where's my brother?" Jaehyun asked Taekwoon as he faked a smile and waved over at the guests. "He's late."

"You know him. He wants to make a great entrance," Taekwoon said with a roll of his eyes.

"Well now we have to deal with all of this on our own," Jaemin complained as he also faked a smile at the guests. "I want to go party. Not stand here and greet a bunch of people I do not even know."

"Just keep smiling kids," Hakyeon, another of the palace workers, came in and slapped them each at the back of their heads."

"But-" Jaemin started until Hakyeon sent him a glare. "Fine," he grumbled before he decided to change the subject. "So, Jaehyun, are you planning on meeting your fated one tonight?"

"Fated one?" Jaehyun repeated with a raised eyebrow. "Hmm. . . I don't know. I think I'd like to get to know someone first before-"

And then it happened. Just like that. He caught sight of that laugh somewhere in that crowd of people. His eyes locked with those sharp and narrow eyes when she turned around, and suddenly he forgot everything he was saying. He forgot he was in the middle of greeting guests at his brother's ball. He forgot his status as a prince and everyone expecting him to act like one.

"Who is she?" Jaehyun asked as he kept his eyes on the girl who also kept her eyes on him.

"Who?" Jaemin asked as he looked in the direction his brother looked.

"I do not know who she is," Taekwoon said as he also looked over.

"Is she of royalty?" Hakyeon asked as he also watched the girl.

"She does not seem so," Taekwoon replied.

Jaehyun droned out the voices of his workers and his brother and just continued to watch the girl and how she started talking to a guy next to her. Was that someone she was romantically involved with? He grew curious as they walked off and out of sight.

Meanwhile the girl, Yein, found herself in a surprise.

"Prince Jaehyun?" Yein asked as she looked back over at the guy who looked around as if searching for someone. "That was him?"

"Yes," Kihyun answered as he served himself some punch and took a sip.

Yein, Kihyun, Jisoo, and the guys had just walked in to the ball when immediately her eyes had landed on a very fine looking young man, who she was sure wasn't much older than her. He'd been staring at her while she laughed at a joke Kihyun made and didn't notice until she turned and the two made eye contact.

"Dead giveaway," Kihyun said as the two watched the young prince from behind a pillar. "From his fancy white and gold suit, to his perfectly parted hair, and the way he stands tall and straight with his arms crossed behind him as he greets the important people. The younger kid next to him must be Prince Jaemin, and he's too young to be Prince Jaehwan, so he's obviously Jaehyun."

Yein nodded as she suddenly noticed everything that Kihyun pointed out to her. "Oh," She mumbled as she suddenly felt so stupid for not realizing before. "Well, then, let's go back with Jisoo and the guys and figure out what we're going to do about this."

"That's cheesy," Sungyoon said as he turned to Jangjun.

Jangjun nodded. "And I have to read pages and chapters of that. Now, I'm going to go to Jiae's house and you can stay here at the ball. Just read what you see happening, all right?"

Sungyoon nodded and watched how Jangjun tapped his rabbit foot on the floor, making a rabbit hole appear, and he jumped in and disappeared.

~~

Never in her life had Jiae seen such a long list of chores. Years and years of working for her wicked step-mother and horrid step-sisters, and today, tonight, out of any other night, she received the longest list if chores ever.

"Not like I was that interested in going," Jiae said as she rolled her eyes and tossed herself back on the couch.

Poof!

And just like that there was a sudden explosion and a bunch of smoke appeared right before Jiae's eyes and she had to choke back a cough as a random stranger appeared in the middle of the house.

"Of course you want to go to that ball! And you will! With a bit of my help, that is."

The girl who stood in front of Jiae smiled widely at her. A very toothy grin. She had a mischievous look to her, giving her a very youthful look like a teenager. And she was pretty. Very pretty indeed.

"My name is Mimi," the girl said as she stuck out her hand to Jiae, "and I am your fairy godmother."

"My fairy godmother? I heard those did not exist."

"Who told you that? Your step-mother? Your step-sisters?" Mimi asked as she looked around the room, without giving Jiae much thought. "Well they were wrong, because here I am. Anyways, let's hurry and get you ready."

Mimi didn't give Jiae time to react, for she quickly pulled the girl up and took out a wand. She started waving it around, saying something about, "beebity bobitie boo," and suddenly Jiae was in a really elegant, silver, poof dress. Her orange hair was up in a high ponytail with the tips curled and her bangs let down.

"There. Pretty," Mimi said as she admired her work on Jiae, "Now, I turned a pumpkin into a carriage for you and some mice Into horses. I think one of them was trying to talk to me, but then again I've always been a bit weird."

"Nah. The mice have tried talking to me before too," Jiae said with a shrug as the two girls walked outside, "but, did it seriously have to be a pumpkin?"

"I haven't mastered magic much yet, so this will do," Mimi said as she opened the door to the carriage-turned-pumpkin, "Just remember, I am still new to this, so the magic will only last till midnight."

"Okay, I'll just have some fun and come right back," Jiae said before she thanked Mimi and headed off.

Mimi watched the carriage go off, headed for the palace as she pretended to wipe a tear away. "They grow up so fast. . . Although I was not there to watch her grow up."

Silence. Everything was silent as he stared at his reflection in the mirror inside his dark, huge, empty room. It was the first in a while.

All the palace servants were out preparing for the ball, and his brothers were down at the entrance greeting guests.

Jaehwan had gone up to his room to get ready and found himself staring at his reflection through his giant vanity. It was the first time he'd been alone since the death of his parents, even if it was for a small moment.

"Prince Jaehwan," one of the servants knocked on the door and his moment was suddenly over.

"Yes?"

"It's time for you to come down."

"Yes, I shall go down in a moment," Jaehwan said and listened carefully for the footsteps of the servant walking away.

"You can do this," Jaehwan whispered to himself.

He took a deep breath and stood up as his hands slammed down on his vanity. "I can do this," He finally said and headed for his door. He walked down the hall boldy as the cape of his suit flowed behind him.

He was stunning, and he knew he was.

So when Jaehwan walked down those stairs and everyone in the ballroom stopped what they were doing to look at him, he smiled his infamous oh-so charming smile and felt confident that he was the most envied person in the room.

"Brother, you're here," Jaehyun said as he walked over to him with a smile.

"Yes, I am here," Jaehwan said with a nod. He then looked over at Jaemin and signaled to go up the stairs and to the middle of the ballroom where he was to give his speech.

"So those are the three princes', huh?" Yein asked with amusement as she watched the three go up the stairs together. "No wonder they're referred to as the Charmings."

"I've never met any royalty besides my family," Jisoo, who stood besides Yein, said.

"Well, Princess Seo, here you have it," Kihyun said.

"Prince Jaemin seems mischievous," Yein mumbled as she started her observations, "he truly is a seventeen-year-old. Young and foolish and most likely the flirty and rebellious one. Prince Jaehwan, made to be a king, standing tall and serious with charisma and confidence practically oozing out of him."

"But there's something weird to his aura," Another voice interjected.

The group turned around to see someone with a black dress and dark mask and long golden hair standing there with a cunning smile.

"Haeryung, you made it!" They all, except for Jisoo who did not know the girl, exclaimed.

"Of course," Haeryung said with a visible smirk.

"So you feel the aura too?" Yein asked as she looked back over at Jaehwan who was thanking the people for coming.

"Feel it?" Haeryung scoffed. "I can practically smell it all the way over here. There's definitely something fishy going on here."

Yein nodded as she looked back over at the three siblings and her eyes landed on Jaehyun who was now looking in their direction.

"So what about the middle prince?" Jooheon asked, waiting for Yein's observation.

"Prince Jaehyun. . ." Yein trailed off as she felt her heart racing and cheeks blushing by the stare he was giving her. "I do not know."

~~

"We have arrived," YooA said as she saw the palace and the magic carpet set down. She quickly got up and dusted her dress off any dirt.

"Finally," Mijoo groaned as she tossed herself back on the magic carpet. "I thought we would never arrive."

"Yeah. You know, I really liked those kids. They were so kind to give us these dresses for the ball," YooA said as she looked down at her light blue dress with gold trim and slightly tossed back her hair which she had let down. "Now let's head off to the ball!"

"You girls hurry up, seeing as how late it is already. I'll head back to the kingdom now," Ten said as he got back on the carpet.

YooA suddenly stopped walking and looked back at Ten as she felt a sudden drop. "What do you mean? You aren't coming with us?"

"Nope. My job here is done. I got the lamp, my jewels, and I got you two over here. It is time to part ways," Ten said as he got his things ready.

YooA didn't know what to say. True, the two had not gotten along very well at first, but she had grown quite fond of him and it was tough to admit it, but she had grown some feelings for him and hoped he could return them. And now he had completely broken all her hopes of that.

"B-But I thought w-" YooA cut herself off, realizing what she was saying. She looked down for a split second as she tried to figure out her thoughts before her usual bratty face appeared. "Well, of course. A royal masquerade must not be a place for someone like you, I guess."

Ten's face dimmed and Mijoo could sense what was going on. YooA felt hurt and wanted to return the feeling.

"I guess not," Ten said before he hopped back on the carpet and rode off.

"You didn't have to be so rude," Mijoo said as she shook her head and clicked her tongue. "If you like him you should've just said something."

Mijoo walked past the gloomy-looking princess as she continued to shake her head to shame her. YooA could not say a word and just stood still on the spot. A sigh escaped her lips and her eyes shut tight as she kicked what was closest to her. "Let's just go."

"So," Jisoo started as she looked over at Kihyun who stood by her next to the table of food, "your friends and you are here because. . .?"

"You do not need to know," Kihyun said as he stuffed a variety of small snacks into his pants. "Now put that puffy dress to use and follow my moves."

"But this is stealing, is it not?" Jisoo asked as she continued to watch his movements.

"Please, this kingdom steals so much from the people, letting us steal back is the least they could do," Kihyun said as he continued, but suddenly stopped when he saw royal guards walking in their direction. "Quick, put your mask on," He whispered to her as he put on his and made sure his face couldn't be seen.

"Why is it so important for us to not be seen by the royal guards?"

"Look, Princess Seo," Kihyun said as he finally turned to face her, "there are some things I can not tell you. Some things that could put you in danger. So best for you, would be to not ask any questions. Now hurry and stuff the cocktails into your dress. I heard they came directly from Prince Hyungwon's kingdom."

Jisoo kept staring at Kihyun, wondering who exactly it was that he was. Why had the seven boys told her to go with him? They said he was great and important. And so far, she wasn't seeing that.

"Where is Yein, though?" Kihyun asked as he looked around.

"Is that her?" Jisoo asked as she caught sight of the bold red dress. "With. . . Prince Jaehyun?"

Kihyun quickly turned around in the direction Jisoo was looking at, feeling his heart racing at her words. Yein? With Prince Jaehyun?

His eyes didn't lie. The long, wavy, blonde hair was Yein's. The red dress he had gotten her was hers. And the guy who suddenly walked up to her and tried to make small talk, was obviously the middle prince.

"What does he want with her?" Kihyun asked through gritted teeth as he got ready to go over, when a hand on his chest suddenly stopped him. He turned to see Haeryung standing there, looking at him with a sly smile before she turned back to look at Yein and Jaehyun.

"Leave it. I want to see how this turns out."

I

Am

Back

Maybe?

I know I haven't posted in like a year+ and I do feel very bad about that. Especially because I had at least three chapters ready in my drafts that I could easily have released. So, today, I am releasing one of them. I will probably release the other two or so whenever I have time. The thing is, most of this story was written when I was like sixteen in high school and I am now in college, so a lot has changed with my writing and with the way I would like this story to go, so I might just end up posting all the drafted chapters I have and then edit the entire story? But each chapter is so long it might take me a while since I am quite busy.

I also have another on-going story that is co-written with my sister at the moment. It's an NCT superhero au if anyone is interested in that.

But I really loved writing this story so I hope I am able to come back to it? Idk, tell me in the comments what you all think.

Love, J

(Also, I am not sure if I have mentioned this befo
