​​​​5 CONSECUTVE YEARS LATER.....

"Thank you so much for the opportunity Mr Dongwook. Finally my dream came true! I will do my very best to help your patients," Eva marveled in excitement

"No worries, Miss Eva. We love to hire fresh graduates like you because at your age, it is time for you to explore and gain more experiences. I really adore your enthusiasm and passion. All the best on your first day of work tomorrow," Doc Dongwook wished

 

Eva bid her farewell and took her leave. The exhilaration kept bubbling up in her to the point she did not realised that she had walked passed Jay's mini cooper car at the car park area. Jay chuckled and just let her be upon knowing her clumsiness personality so well after 5 years of being close friends.

Feeling so confident Eva open up a stranger's car door and plopped on the empty seat beside the driver seat. Eva began to elaborate on what happened during the second call back of interview she went through earlier and she was too delighted she accidentally hit her arm against the stranger's.

 

"Erm, excuse me. I think you might be in the wrong car,"

 

Eva immediately turned to face that person and the amount of embarrassment she have encounter was way beyond limit. She adjusted her hair ensuring that it covers part of her face and apologised for barging in without checking. She went out of the black Mercedes Benz car and gently close the door. The owner of the car roll down the car window and stare at her. 

"I'm so sor..so..sorry. I really didn't mean to. Erm, have a g..g.re..great day!" Eva stuttered upon the strict stare the owner was giving her

 

In an instant, she rushed her way back to Jay's mini cooper car and happened to find Jay giggling his off. Eva went in the car and covered her face with full of shame and gave Jay a couple of hits on his shoulder for not alerting her.

 

"Pretend you did not see or witness anything alright? Ugh, so embarrassing," Eva complained

"I'm trying to hahaha! Be alert at times or you might end up in some kidnaper's van or something in the future. You and your clumsiness aiish!" Jay nagged messing with her hair

"Thanks for the 'motivation'," Eva said in annoyance

 

Out of the blue, an filthy, ugly looking coackroach landed on Eva's arm and having a panic reaction, she let out a short scream and slapped it sideways causing it to land on Jay's shirt.

 

"AAHH!!! EEWW!!!! GET IT AWAY FROM ME!!! GET IT AWAY FROM ME!!!!" Jay yelled his lungs out in fear and disgust as he grabed tightly on Eva's blouse, pulling her closer 

 

Eva bravely grabed a couple of tissue papers and forcefully scooped the cockroach up. Once succeed, she threw it out of the car while Jay on the other hand was still screaming his lungs out due to his insecurities that the cockroach was crawling all over his body.

 

"Jay," Eva called out

"AHHH!! DAMN IT'S CRAWLING ALL OVER!! GET IT OFF!"

"Jay," Eva called out for the second time

"AHH!! AHH!!"

"PARK JAEBEOM!!" Sya raised her voice

"HUH?!" Jay replied

"It's gone. I've thrown it out,"

"Ouh you did?" Jay said, inspecting his seats and his car

 

Eva was controlling her laughter upon having to see this side of him. Jay then face her and in a few seconds, he pretended to cough and focused his attention in front due to feeling embarrassed of his reaction.

 

"Karma do come in handy eh?" Evaa back

"Ssshhh," Jay shut her up and started his car engine

"OMG THE COCKROACH IS STILL HERE!!" Eva exclaimed

"WHERE?!!!! WHERE?!!!" Jay panic

"HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! DAMN THIS IS FUN BRO!" Eva laughed hilariously

"Funny huh? Pfft...everyone have something that they fear of alright? I thought a psychology student should know this kind of stuffs," Jay pouted

"Aww someone is furious. Come on, don't take it seriously, I don't mean it at all," Eva assured with a cheerful smile

"Haha duh....of course you don't. It's your thing to bring in happiness into someone's life and guess what you've succeeded. Lucky to have a friend like you. Alright psychologist Eva, I bet you get the job for sure just by seeing that joyous smile on your face just now and as promised let's go for a celebration!" Jay suggested and drove off

FIRST DAY OF WORK!!

After 5 torturing years of studying, assignments, examinations, school projects and continuously non-stop job search, all of Eva's effort has been paid off and it hits Eva's satisfaction upon getting her dream job as being a counsellor. She was on the way to work, sipping a cup of cuppocino at the same time feeling so nervous and anxious about the patients she will be assigned to. Coincidentally, she bumped into Doc Dongwook who was munching on a pretzel.

"Woops, sorry! Ouh what a coincident! Good morning Eva!" greeted Doc Dongwook

"Good morning Doc!" Eva greeted back

"Hmm..you look so bright today. You sure you are okay with the working environment? I mean it's a mental asylum not a normal hospital,"

"Of course not. Not all of the patients here are crazy though. From what I had studied during my course, some people are being placed here is because they are just depressed or stressed due to the most common reasons which is the treatment given by their surroundings or even their past. Some are under short term treatment while others are under long-term but either ways, I am here to understand them and give them some hope as long as it is within my capacity," Eva assured with full of determination

"Woah, you're young but seriously you're intelligent and wise young lady," Doc Dongwook complimented 

 

Eva nodded humbly and the both of them went to work together. Eva was then being assigned to the human resource department to complete all of her paperwork. Once done, Doc Dongwook decided to bring her for a tour around the asylum just to get familiarised with the place and introduced her to some of the patients. Eva showed off her bright smile to those patients and even tried to get along with them, bringing in positive vibes. 

 

"I'm impressed Eva. You seem to be getitng along well even though it is just your first day," Doc Dongwook compliemented

"To get to know more about your patient, you have to make them feel comfortable with you first," Eva replied

"Hmm...someone has been doing some research eh? Haha, alright come on. Let's get to know the parient that I have assigned you to deal with at another part of the building," he infomed her

 

Unlike the patients who were going through short-term treatment in the previous building that they were at, the atmosphere of being in this different building was way completely different. It was not as noisy and hectic. The air had perfumed scent and the seats were plush. Every surface was dustless and the nurses were unhurried, moving with serene purposefulness from room to room on their rounds.

 

"Why aren't the patients allowed to move freely out from their cells like the previous building?" Eva questioned as she monitored the area

"Ouh, unlike over there, this building consist of patients who are undergoing long-term treatment. Severe cases I shall say so they are not allowed to wander around out of their rooms as most of them are diagnosed with bipolar disorder and it is very dangerous if we were to set them free. They might attack you anytime," Doc Dongwook explained

 

Eva's heart throbbed and Doc Dongwook could sense it so well just by stealing glances from the corner of his eyes.

 

"Afraid?" Doc Dongwook asked

"A little but no harm doing whatever you can to help them," Eva replied

"That's confident. Okay, we've arrived. Room 666, you will be dealing with this patient and--

"Doc, we have a patient downstairs and she is giving a hard time to the nurses. Need your help," alerted one of the nurses

 

Doc Dongwook gave Eva an apologectic look.

 

"My apologies Eva, give me a moment alright? I will be back and explain to you about your patient's case in a more in depth basis. Maybe you would like to get along with him first? Press this alarm if he try to be funny with you. Be right back," Doc Dongwook instructed and rushed off with the nurse

"Sure," Eva said and gave three knocks on the door

 

Receiving no respone in return, she gently made her way in with an uneasy heart with lots of negative imaginations stressing her out upon what Doc Dongwook had elaborated about her regarding the patients here.

 

"He.hello..th..there," Eva stuttered, keeping her distance away from the patient who was too engrossed on reading a magazine

 

Eva tried her best to get a great full view of the patient's complexion but failed to do so because the magazine was almost covering his entire face. Suddenly, the patient began to flip through page by page in  very slow manner, giving Eva a very creepy sensation to not mess around with him. Eva dared herself to come closer as she took the nearets wooden chair and sat right in front of him. She noticed a stack of magazines being piled up on the single bed not far from where she stand and wondered why this patient was so attached to it.

Eva waited for a few seconds and change her technique. Instead of waiting for him to introduce himseld, Eva decided to introduce herself first just to get the patient's attention.

 

10 Minutes Later....

"So yeah that is all about my life. I bet it's boring isn't it, which is why you're still facing that interesting magazine of yours. Seems like your life is much more interesting compared to mine and I would love to hear it. Let's start with the full name shall we? How would you want me to address you?"

"It's always the same old boring introduction eh? Pfft...," the patient finally spoke at the same time flipping through more pages

"Hmm...alright then. Let's talk about something else. What about interest? I love writing stories and helping people what about you? Looks like you love reading," Eva inquried

"My interest? Oh boy, you really wanna know?" the patient said

"Of course!" Eva exclaimed 

"You're so eager to know what I am reading aren't you?"

"Absolutely. Do you mind sharing?" Eva requested

 

The patient who had his face still being covered, used his leg to slide a couple more magazines on the floor towards Eva. Eva widened her eyes as she did not realised there were a couple more magaines laying on the floor apart from what she saw on the single bed. She picked up one of them and began to flip. It was filled with guys and girls models posing, looking so stunning and flawless.

 

"Do you have an ambition to become a model? I bet you are too good looking that you have to hide your identity from me. Those models sure are good looking," Eva asked 

"Good looking aren't they? Perfect jawlines...cat-like eyes...," the patient describing admiringly 

 

Eva's senses were numbed upon listening to the description because she finds the description so familiar, like she have heard someone said the same thing before. Putting her negative thoughts aside, she keep on flipping the page nervously. Upon hearing the sound ofthe pages,

 

"Pfft...Why are you flipping the pages so quickly? You're supposed to admire those perfect complexion a little more ya know? Damn, I wish I could have that mesmerizing eyebrows," commented the patient who was slowing flipping

 

Eva's goosebumps started to rise and her bones were jittering, her heart leapt to . She was running out of words to say as the patient tend to make her assumed that someone whom she know was already dead was still alive.

 

"Why so silent all of a sudden? Aren't you so excited earlier to get to know more about me?" 

"H..huh? Silent? Haha, I am just..just giving you an oppotunity to elaborate more about yourself," Eva lied, fidgeting with her clammy hands

"Liars are quite easy to spot ya know? Hah, remember who used to say that to you? I bet you did," the patient reminded her

 

Eva's eyes widened as huge as saucers as she creased her eyerows in disbelief. 

 

"It can't be. You..You're still alive?" she uttered as the patient slowly lower down the magazine to expose his identity 

 

 

 

 

 

 

"Surprise sweetheart. I'm back from the dead, aha!"

"SUGA?!!" Eva exclaimed in shock

"Uh-Uh correction lady. I'm Yoongi. Suga is long gone. Hahaha I even dyed my hair blonde since my blonde haired friend no longer exist. Like a tribute I shall say, hahahaha!"

 

Eva accidentally jerked up and move herself away backwards.

 

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, shocked aren't you? Finally....after 5 bloody years...Hahahahahaha~~~" 

 

Eva's breathing increases and terror gripped her whole being as perspiration began dripping from her forehead. 

 

"But how...No, it's just a dream...you're already dead!" Eva exclaimed in disbelief at the same time disappointed that her effort she had put in 5 years ago had been wasted

"Another thing you gotta know about serial killers is, it's not easy to finish them off. We're not dumb and to us, we will do anything to survive till we complete the revenge. You must be wondering why is my arm is still in contact don't ya? Well the truth is, the one you killed 5 years ago, was actually some sort of like my 'dummy',"

"What do mean by that?" Eva inquired, raising her voice

"Goodness you're that slow huh? No wonder that Zic guy called you a nerd. Another important thing about serial killers is they are good planners. I am not dumb enough to change my entire ugly face into this without a purpose and intention in mind. I know if I were to continue on with my plan in taking my revenge, I need to have a back-up plan and to have a back-up plan, I need a back-up buddy who was so awesome but stupid to sacrifice his face. So, I used that money and the both of us went for surgery to have the same look-alike face. I know every move of you and your friends in that mansion because Suga had been updating me. Poor Suga...Haiz...Cool huh? HAHAHAHAHAHAH!!" YoonGi laughed hysterically 

"You're sick! How could you get someone innocent to get involved in your dirty plan?!!!"

"Hold up. I didn't, Mr Suga volunteered. Hahahaha and honestly, I'm not satisfied with his mission to complete my revenge for me because you should be joining the rest in the grave instead of being here," YoonGi smirked

"You're such a coward! Why use someone when you could handle things on your own? So, you don't even know Simon, Zic, Amber, Chaerin and Namjoon?" Eva said furiously

"Those idiots? Hah, of course I know them. We were in hat stupid leadership camp together. One day they were talking about that 5 million dollar and they even planned to go in there. Obviously, if they were to go in there, they might find out the truth about me murdering my own family, so to avoid that from being exposed to the world, I have no choice but to kill them," YoonGi explained 

 

"Like I said I'm not stupid enough to get into trouble. No way am I getting my in jail or even risk my life. Serial killers will always find ways to save themselves and enjoy the part to see someone suffer like how I used to. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!" YoonGi continued 

"You cowardly bastard! COWARD!" Eva yelled in anger

A pissed off frowned creased on YoonGi's forehead. He drew in his breath a long hissed, glaring at her with eyes of fury.

 

"You know they always say, empty cans makes the most noise? It's freaking annoying to me and it's time to end my revenge NOW!!" YoonGi raised his voice and attacked Eva by strangling her neck, throwing the small alarm as far away from her

 

While Eva was struggling to get herself free, YoonGi just laughed as he kept tightening his grip hoping that Eva would suffocate to death. Eva used her knees to hit his crouch area and manage to free herself. Eva was inches close to reach out for the alarm when her legs were being pulled backwards harshly. Grabbing onto her back head hardly, YoonGi pushed her against the wall.

 

" you're so hard to kill eh?!"

"You silly coward, aren't you forgetting there is a camera up there?" Eva alerted

 

He then pulled her hair and Eva let out a scream.

 

"Of course I know you idiot but once again, I am always prepared before my attack," YoonGi warned

 

Eva went to looked closer at the camera and happened to me a tape covering the lens.

 

"You must be having a wonderful night with Jay boy yesterday don't you? Too bad last night shall be your last night with him. HAHAHAHAHA!"

"Y..You..You killed him?!!!!!" Eva cried

"Hmm....isn't it obvious? Try to recall, why hasn't he been answering your phone call and text messages?"

"YOU!!!! YOU SICKO!!!" Eva cried and used her strength and pushed him away

 

YoonGi in an instant crawled to his bed and feel for the dagger that he hid underneath the bed. He was about to stabbed Eva when Doc Dongwook barged in the room.

 

"What's going on here? What's with the mess?" Doc Dongwook questioned

 

YoonGi quickly hid back the dagger and put on his act on being insane like he had been doing all this while. He ran up to Doc Dongwook and pretended to cry leaving an impression that Eva was intending to hurt him.

 

"Hey, what's wrong? YoonGi calm down. What's wrong? You can tell me alright?" Doc Dongwook comforted

"She...she's bad...she wanted to hurt me..get her away from me... please..please!! Please Doc," Yoongi pleaded fakely

"Ssshhh...sshhhh. Don't worry ok? Eva, what exactly happened? Did you forced something out of him? He will go berserk if you were to force something out of him. It's my mistake for not explaining it to you about his case. I'm so sorry," Doc Dongwook apologised

"Yoongi he--

"GET HER AWAY FROM ME!!!" Yoongi over-reacted that shocked both of them

"Alright alright. Eva I think it'a best if we talk in my office, proceed to my office, I'll be there in a short while after settling him down. Yoongi let's have a talk ok? Come on, " Doc Dongwook instructed and brought Yoongi to his bed to calm him down

 

Eva was so furious she stomped her way out and went to Doc Dongwook's office. While waiting, she dated the misery alone upon knowing Jay was already dead. She cried in silence.

After 2 hours of going through Yoongi's case with Doc Dongwook, all of the story being told was definitely a lie. Eva had been wanting to inform Doc Dongwook but every attempt was a failure. She even told about Yoongi's evil plan but to Doc Dongwook, most of the insane patients here have wild imaginations. 

The more Eva tried to convince the doctor, the level of frustrations just kept erupting when there were no evidence to proof that YoonGi was a serial killer. Eva sighed in exhaustion, feeling so furious for not able to get the doctor to see the truth. 

 

"Eva, you just know the patient. It takes time to study them and you could not believe 100% on what that is coming out from their mouth because some of them might not be telling the truth. They are good an imagining but to tell me that Yoongi was a serial killer was just hard to believe. So far from his record, he have not gotten involved in any crimes in Seoul. Take a look for yourself if you don't believe me,"

 

Eva started reading and she knew everything written in those files was a made up. Having no evidence and power to prove the doctor wrong, she just date her anger by shutting herself up. She stood up and was about to leave the office.

 

"Eva, sometimes you have to look more in depth about each of their cases before assuming the patient was a serial killer.It takes time to study a human being and furthermore, he was just being transferred here a few months ago. I don't think you will get a perfect result without inventigating more in depth about him," Doc Dongwook tried to explain

"I'll prove you wrong one day," Eva assured and leave

 

Before leaving the mental asylum compound, Eva turned around and focused her attention one YoonGi's room window. He was eyeing her very carefully like what serial killer would do in every thriller movies.

Night fell like a shroud and it was dead silent in the mental asylum. YoonGi was still wide awake, sitting a the same time rocking his body back and forth on his bed. The door to his ward was being pushed opened and a nurse came in with a tray filled with medication pills. He handed the pills to YoonGi.

 

"Come on, last medication for the day YoonGi," told the nurse with a bright smile, hiding the fact that she was exhausted after a long day at work

 

YoonGi rolled his eyes in irritation and retrieved the purple colured pill from the nurse grip and slotted it in his mouth. After gulping down a glass of water, the nurse instructed him to open up his mouth to check if he had really swallowed down the pill.

 

"Alright, good. Have a good night sleep YoonGi and I'll come by tomorrow morning yeah? Nights!" wished the nurse

 

As the nurse was making her way to the ward door, she accidentally tripped over a pile of magazines but managed to be rescued by Suga as he surrounded his arms around her waist. 

 

"Phew, that was close. Thank you YoonGi," thanked the nurse

 

He just let out a sadistic smile and let her go while the nurse gave him a very strange look on her face upon withnessing that goosebumps rising look from YoonGi's face. Once the door was closed, YoonGi vomitted out the pill that he had been hiding under his tongue everytime a nurse were to ask him to take his medication. He then hide the pill inside a ragged doll and placed the doll under his pillow. The lights to the mental asylum has went off and it was almost pitch dark along the corridor.

YoonGi stood up and put on a sinister smirk on his face as he admired himself proudly in front of a full length mirror. In his grip, was a cell phone and he was so proud that he was able to stole it from the nurse pocket earlier during her 'accidental trip' I shall say without the nurse realising. 

 

"YoonGi, time to go to sleep young man," he heard the nurse's voice who will always do a regular patrolling around the mental asylum to check on the patients 

 

He went to his bed and pretended to be asleep. The moment he heard footsteps fading, he secretly dialed someone's number on the phone and placed the phone under his ears in a way that it was not so obvious to the camera being installed in that room. A few seconds later, the call was being answered

 

"It's me. Any updates?," YoonGi said softly

"I've finished off the guy," that someone replied

"Good. You're damn worth paying for. Now listen, it's time. I have another job for you," YoonGi instructed

"I'm listening,"

"Kill Eva for me and once you've done that, get me the hell out of here!" YoonGi ordered

"All the best Doc DongWook, nice doing business with you, Doc," YoonGi ended the call

After receiving the orders, Doc Dongwook loaded his gun with a couple of bullets in his hideout area. He then noticed Eva strolling towards Jay's cemetery with a bouquet of flowers in her hand like what he had expected since he had been monitoring her for the past few days.

He gave Eva some time to say her prayers and let out her sadness to Jay's grave when it suddenly started to pour with thunders roaring out loud. After loading the bullets, he aim it towards her, trying to get a perfect shot to her heart.

"Tsk..tsk..rest in peace my friend. I'm...I'm sorry I'm not there..to ..tsk..to safe you. Whatever it is you'll be in my heart forever. Love you," Eva grieved when a few second later, Doc Dongwook pulled the trigger  

A sharp pain hits Eva and she lay flat on top of Jay's grave with blood oozing out from her wound purposefully with her eyes still wide open. As she was struggling for breath, she saw Doc Dongwook making her way towards her. He squad down and looked at her pathetically,

"Eva...Eva....You want to prove me wrong don't you? Too bad I am the evidence you're looking for. You know you shouldn't trust people too much, you shouldn't love too much and you shouldn't hope too much because all that 'too much' will definitely hurt you so much. It's really sad to witness that you are dying ya know," 

 

Eva coughed out more blood and realising her breath was getting weaker on every breathe she took. 

 

"I'm sorry dear but I think today shall be your first and last day working for my hospital and yeah my last advise to you is, don't trust anyone blindly, most people you meet with are with you only for their own sake and interest. With that, so long Eva," Doc Dongwook bid his final farewell and smirk before leaving her all alone to experience a slow torturing death 

 

After a tear rolled down Eva's cheeks, she let out her last breath and her soul was being seperated from her body.
