Chapter 2
Trapped
I soon wake up to the sound of my phone ringing. I quickly rub my eyes and reach down to grab my phone. Who could it be at this hour? Plus, I still haven’t given anyone my phone number.
I noticed that it was a text and I opened it. I dropped my phone. The text messaged said, ‘I’m trapped.’ Who keeps sending me these weird text messages? I shake my head. It’s just a prank…
I pick my phone up from the ground and place it on the table.
I should be going to sleep soon; my shift is in the morning tomorrow. I yawn and jump on my bed. My eyes slowly start to close and I drift off into sleep.

My alarm clock wakes me up and I notice that I slept through most of it. I hurriedly put on my clothes and fix myself some breakfast.
With a piece of toast in my mouth, I open my phone. My eyes widen as I noticed I have 17 text messages all from the same unknown number. I delete all of the text messages. I know what it’s going say and I don’t want to read it.
I quickly stuff the phone in my pocket and leave.
I keep looking down at my watch. I’m going to be late if I don’t hurry. I take a sharp turn and I accidently bump into someone.
“I’m so sorry,” I say while bowing. I look up and I’m greeted by a cold, yet handsome face.
He doesn’t say anything but he keeps staring at me. Do I have something on my face? Ah, I don’t have time for this. I can’t be late.
I bow one last time and start running, but he suddenly grabs my arm.
“Your phone… if you don’t do something about that, things will get worse.“He then let go of my arm and walks away.
What does he mean by that? Could he be talking about the text messages? But how would he know that…
Before I could ponder anymore, I glanced at my watch and realize I have only a minute left. I quickly dash to my job. Luckily, I wasn’t late.
My phone starts to vibrate in my pocket. I’m tempted to open it, but it’s probably the weird text messages.
All throughout the day, my phone vibrated in my pocket. Every time I ignored it.
By the time I finished my shift for the day, I already had 28 text messages. They were all from the same unknown number. I quickly delete them all and head home. The thing the stranger said keeps ringing in my head. Should I text this person back?
Even when I’m walking home, my phone keeps vibrating. I can’t take this anymore! I quickly get out my phone and text, ‘What do you want?’
A few seconds later I get a reply, ‘Help! I’m trapped!’
I quickly text back, ‘Where?’
Just as I reach the front steps of my house, I received a text. I open it and it reads, ‘In your phone.’
I let out a scream, but not because of the text. But because I saw four guys staring straight at me through my phone screen.
