Beautiful Goodbye to a Era

Date: May 28, 2017 | Exo'rdium dot, Day 2

While a VCR plays, the members are busy changing into the next set’s outfits: pink silk shirts with long ribbons in front. Jongin gives a half-hearted attempt to make a bow and is about to call Kyungsoo over for help, but the singer is already there and starts tying his ribbon for him. Jongin smiles to himself. Kyungsoo’s always anticipating his needs. It’s a beautiful testament to how well they complete each other, filling in each other’s gaps seamlessly.

Kyungsoo settles onto the platform down inside the pretend television set when everyone gets into position to start Unfair. Jongin leans against the TV box and stares down at his man, admiring how he adjusts his shirt in minute ways until it’s deemed perfect.

“Hyung," he calls. "I’m nervous.”

“Nervous about what?” Kyungsoo looks up at him with wide, curious eyes. Ah, another one of Jongin’s favorite looks on the singer.

“You know, my solo...” Jongin squirms, patting his stomach.

“Don’t be ridiculous. Your body looks incredible. I mean it always does, but I can especially confirm that fact after my very thorough inspection last night,” he says with a wink.

Jongin laughs and gives his boyfriend the fondest smile in return, just as the music cues up and the stage screen in front of them starts to part. The TV platform starts to rise, revealing Kyungsoo singing the opening lines, and Jongin points proudly at the crooner, showing him off to the audience.

Kyungsoo disappears back into the floor of the stage, and Jongin sings his lines before wandering over to catch his boyfriend where he'll pop up next in the couch. The dancer takes great pleasure in getting handsy with Kyungsoo here out in the open, carrying on the fun tradition of everyone pestering him during this part of the chorus. Jongin grabs at his midsection, playfully poking his most sensitive tickle spots. Not too hard though, lest he get publicly reprimanded like that one time...

They wander over to the fake refrigerator with Minseok, and Jongin waits until Kyungsoo is fully inside before closing the door behind them and continuing their conversation from earlier.

"You don't know what it's like, to be worried about exposing yourself to the fans. It's scary, hyunnnnng," he whines at Kyungsoo, backing him up against the inner wall of the fridge til they're nose to nose, hips pressed ag
