Foreword

"Jungkook really likes this show." Jimin mutters. He's mostly talking to himself. He shuffles slightly on the couch to pull his legs up to his chest. Thinking about Jungkook nowadays tends to make him feel pretty ty. He never sees the younger boy much anymore, only for a second as he passes by to grab a snack or a glass of water. Jimin closes his eyes and hopes that nobody heard him, but his words don't fall on deaf ears. A bothered sigh sounds right beside him and Jimin glances over to catch the expression of complete annoyance on Namjoon's face. The lecture that he's already heard a million times is coming, he can feel it.

"Jimin," Namjoon starts. He pulls in a fairly large breath through his nose. Uh oh, it's a long lecture. "We're watching this show with you now. Jungkook is in his room. He's not out here. If you want to ask him, for the hundredth time this week, if he wants to join you to watch TV, go ahead. If you don't want to, don't mention his name." He pauses to shake his head. "It's been months, Jimin. Really, do you think he actually cares about this kind of stuff anymore. He's been ignoring you for months. Let him go already."

He's heard the words before, the same lecture. Jimin rests his chin atop his knees, arms curling securely around his legs to hold them in place. Just because he's used to hearing the same words, doesn't mean it makes it hurt any less. He knows that everything is different now between him and Jungkook. No matter how many times he goes to his door, knocks gently, calls out his name. "Jungkook, are you home? Do you wanna hang out?" Nothing ever changes. It's already changed. It's hopeless.

Taehyung laughs first, the others filing closely behind him. Something funny must have happened in the show. Jimin smiles, staring blankly at the TV, colors flickering in front of his dead stare. He can't pay attention to this. His stomach is on fire and there's something in his throat. But it's all supposed to be okay, he shouldn't have anything to be so depressed about. Jungkook shouldn't have to care about him, because they were only just friends to begin with. Friends come and go, and Jungkook doesn't even know Jimin fell in love with him.
