Taehyung had successfully finished his semester at the Busan Arts College, so it was time for him to come to Seoul and spend his summer break with his lovely cousin. It was always like this; we spent the first half of the summer with my family and the rest of it with his at Busan. I managed to finish with my exams two weeks before but he had some acting project which he had to hand in by yesterday. As a guy who liked to procrastinate things, he handed it in yesterday.

We agreed on meeting at his favourite café shop which was near the train station since his train arrived at 15:25 and I had an appointment at the dentist at 15:00.

I’m on my way. 2 minutes and I’ll be there.

I sent my reply via Kakaotalk while I was still sitting on the bus, waiting for my stop to be announced. I was also bored because I had to wait for 30 minutes at the clinic, just to learn that all my teeth were straight and healthy. Not to mention that I had to travel through the city centre for another 20 minutes to get to the café. Luckily, after a minute or so, the bus came to a halt and I hopped off at my stop.

I had to admit that I was pretty excited to see my cousin after two weeks. Without him, my days were less joyful and stirring. Although our last encounter was a bit embarrassing because he was drunk, I was looking forward to the next weeks.

As I was walking down the streets, I could see the logo of the café from afar and when I walked in, a delicious smell immediately wafted through my nose. It was a sweet mixture of the scent of cafés, teas, cakes and freshly made patisseries. Café Bultaoreune was a pretty small but cosy place which we both fell in love with when we first had a hot chocolate here. I still remember that it was Taehyung’s first time in Seoul and it was raining so hard and neither of us had an umbrella, so we tried to found a shelter from the terrible downpour. That was how we found Café Bultaoreune.

When I walked in, I bowed at the waiter’s direction and made my way to our favourite table next to the window. We always sat there and luckily, no one claimed this place as their own, so it was always abandoned. So, it took me by surprise that this time, there was already someone sitting in my favourite armchair and even if he sat with his back to me, I assumed that it wasn’t Taehyung. I looked around, trying to find where my cousin was but to no avail. I had no other choice than to ask the stranger about the guy who should be sitting in front of him.

When I walked up to him, he looked up from the book he was currently reading and when our eyes met, I gasped incredulously.
