Two is better than one

Chapter 7

Bobby and Hanbin reach the hospital in time. Bobby passes by the entrance and lowers the speed. “Should I park the car here or should be go in the underground garage?” Hanbin looks around then turns to Bobby. “There is no one here by now but we don't know about later, I think it is better to go a level down.” Bobby nods and increases his speed again to park the car in the underground garage. He stops the engine and gets out to help Hanbin get out of the car. Hanbin sighs and looks at Bobby. “You know I am not sick. If anything then I am pregnant, you don't have to treat me this preciously.” Bobby stops and holds on to Hanbins hand then lifts his free hand and caresses Hanbins face. “You have no idea how precious you are. Please don't say anything like this ever again.” Hanbin opens his mouth and somewhat feels as if he insulted Bobby and his feelings. “I am sorry...It's just...we don't even know yet but you are already...” He stops and lowers his face embarrassed. Bobby smiles and steps closer making Hanbin rest his head on his shoulder. “I know that I am acting a bit over the top but as much as I am excited I still feel worried too, I just want you to be safe and stay by my side.” Hanbin snuggles his face on Bobby and holds on to him. “I know...I want to be by your side too.” Bobby breaths out then pulls back and wraps his arm around Hanbins waist. “Let's go, otherwise we will be late.” Hanbin nods his head and they start walking towards the entrance.

They have to wait for a bit longer until Lee greets them together then takes Hanbin to do some tests. “How have you been feeling for the past weeks, Hanbinssi?” Hanbin is resting on the examination chair while Lee covers his lower body again with the sheets. “I don't know. I started to get sensitive to scents and my appetite seemed to decrease. I wouldn't have set the date when Jiwon wouldn't be that careful. He is way too concerned about everything.” Lee smiles then calls the nurse to get the samples and bring them to the lab and turns back to Hanbin. “In a bit we will have the results. You could have actually called Jiwonssi. I bet he is getting more and more nervous outside, waiting by himself. Hold on I tell my assistant to let him inside.” He smiles then makes a quick phone call. A few seconds later Bobby knocks on the door and enters. “Can I come in?” Hanbin still rests on the chair and smiles at Bobby, reaching out to his hand. Bobby smiles and comes closer to grab his hand and pats it faintly then looks nervous at Lee. “And?” Lee chuckles faintly but just wants to shake his head when the phone rings. Bobby looks flustered then turns to Hanbin. “Do you know already?” Hanbin shakes his head but shows him to wait and turns to Lee. Bobby sighs and waits then turns to Lee. Lee nods his head. “Araso. Please bring me the results I will continue with the examination now. Thank you.” He hangs up the phone then walks to Hanbin and Bobby. Bobby and Hanbin look nervous. “Doc? What is wrong?” Bobby sounds worried and Hanbin frowns confused. “Is everything alright? Am I not pregnant?” Lee smiles and shakes his head. “You are, but before I tell you, I want to make sure once again.” Hanbin and Bobby look both worried when Lee steps to the chair and lifts Hanbins sheets. Bobby steps back but holds on to Hanbins hand. Hanbin turns to him and looks worried. “Jiwonie?” Bobby smiles slightly uneasy but caresses Hanbins forehead with his hand. Hanbin shuts his eyes and snuggles himself against Bobby's hand and feels clam when he feels Bobby's hand. Lee gets the ultrasound and gel then turns to Hanbin. “Sorry once again this could be a bit cold.” He puts some of the blue liquid on Hanbins stomach and Hanbin jolts from the cold as he breaths out. Lee pulls the monitor closer than presses the tool carefully on Hanbins stomach and slides it above his skin. Hanbin and Bobby turn to the monitor and wait while Lee moves his hand slower until he stops and zooms in on the monitor. He smiles and turns to Bobby and Hanbin. “I hope you two are ready for a lot of work.” Hanbin and Bobby frown confused and worried. Lee chuckles and stops the picture and faces them properly. “Congratulations, you will have twins.” Bobby and Hanbin's jaws drop open as they stare on the display. Bobby is the first to manage to say something. “Twins as in two children...like there are two babies? We ...we will have twins?” He sounds slightly confused but Hanbin is just the same. “I am not only pregnant but pregnant with twins?” Lee nods his head and turns to the display. “It is hard to see but these two small dots are your babies. And here...” He pauses and switches on the speakers. As soon as he increases the volume not only one but two heartbeats start pounding irregularly. Hanbin gasps and his hand almost automatically reaches to his upper stomach. “This can't be?...” Bobby stares at the display then at Hanbins stomach. “There are two...Hanbin-ah...we...will...” Hanbin smiles faintly and looks at Bobby. “Twins...we will have twins.” He starts to laugh and tears run down his eyes. “I...will have twins...” Bobby clicks his tongue and leans down to Hanbin and kisses him. “We...we will have twins.” Hanbin smiles and turns back to stare at the ultrasound. Lee smiles and prints out the picture. “You take this a lot better than other couples do. Maybe because you already have Gwihanie.” Hanbin and Bobby chuckle and Lee's voice makes them listen up again. Lee pulls away the tool and the heart beats stop at once. He wipes Hanbins stomach then covers him with the sheets again. “I didn't want to tell you the results as soon as I got them until I wasn't sure, and I thought either way you wanted to hear them.” Hanbin smiles and Bobby wraps his arm around Hanbins shoulder offering his waist to rest his head on him. “Thank you for your consideration, but I am sure that you have more to tell us. Am I right?” Hanbin grabs Bobby's hand and holds him tighter. “It is alright. Tell us. I want to know. You already told me that another pregnancy wouldn't be easy but know with twins I think things will be only twice as hard.” Lee looks at the data then waits for a bit before he shuts the folder and smiles at Hanbin. “It is true that I told you the possibilities but after the examination today I think I can calm you down. Your scar healed really well and there is nothing that could make another pregnancy hard. You are healthy and further more your husband is more conscious than any doctor could be. The birth might be a bit harder and your body might have it tougher making space for twins, so your morning sickness could be worse than it was during Gwihanie's pregnancy but I can't tell this beforehand, but what I can tell you know. Your body got more used to the fact of giving birth than it was for Gwihan so the risks decreased.” Bobby and Hanbin breath out relieved when Lee continues. “If you go to weekly check-ups, take care of your health and stop doing exhausting work, you and the babies will be fine.” Bobby who was up until now tense, finally relaxes a bit and shuts his eyes relieved, sharing a single tear while he thanks god for watching over his new family. Hanbin turns to Bobby and his hand. “Jiwonie-Hyung...I told you I will be fine.” He smiles when Bobby turns to him with watery eyes and smiles almost in disbelieve. “You love to tell me that you are in the right.” Hanbin chuckles and nods. “I am sorry to give you more work from now on...but please take care of us.” Bobby sighs and leans down and leans his head against Hanbins forehead. “That's for sure.” He sighs when Lee hands Bobby the picture of the twins. Bobby looks up then at the picture and sighs with a sweet smile. “Gwihanie wanted us to give him a dongsaeng, but now he even gets two.” Hanbin smirks and looks at Bobby. “I bet he will do well.” Bobby nods when Lee coughs and smiles and hands Bobby a prescription. “Here are a few things you can buy in the pharmacy. Hanbin should start applying the cream on his stomach to make sure his skin stays smooth. I also prescribed a tea that will help him when he throws up a lot, so he won't lose his appetite, but that's just in case. And I set the first date for the next meeting.” He turns to Hanbin and smiles. “You can get down form the chair now. As for today I only have to tell you. No more overwork or performances. Also, I don't know about you two in that aspect but...you should...well restrain yourself from ual ...” He coughs and tries not to sound embarrassed even though he is actually used to talking about that. “...at least for the next weeks...” Hanbin blushes and nods and sits up from the chair. Bobby nods just as embarrassed and bows then helps Hanbin get down form the chair. Hanbin turns to Lee and bows too. “Thank you. I am in your care too.” Lee smiles then reaches out his hand to shake their hands then sees them off to the changing room. Bobby follows Hanbin then waits outside until he is dressed and keeps staring on the picture of their children. He sighs and mutters to himself. “Twins...we really have twins...” It took him a bit to make it sink in but the more he thinks about it the more he likes the idea of having two more children. Hanbin just finished changing when he sees Bobby's smiling face. “What are you thinking about?” Bobby jolts and turns to Hanbin. “I am just happy and excited.” Hanbin smiles and grabs Bobby's hand but sounds worried. “You are not angry that it happened to be twins? I know how worried you were in the beginning to even make another child with me...and now...we will even have tw-” Bobby interrupts Hanbin and presses his finger on his lips. “Shhh...I am happy...as long as you are by my side and I will make sure to help you. You just stay healthy and take care of you and our two babies. I need nothing more...and didn't you say once...two is better than one? Araso?” Hanbin blushes faintly and shuts his eyes then kisses Bobby's finger before he nods his head. “Araso.” Bobby smiles and hugs Hanbin carefully. “I love you.” Hanbin snuggles himself on Bobby again and mutters. “Nado (me too).” Bobby kisses Hanbins hair and leans back to grab his face and looks at him. Hanbin lowers his eyes but sounds still pouty and worried. “...but will you love even when I start looking like Krunk? I will get really really huge.” Bobby laughs by this thought and caresses Hanbins cheeks. “Even when you look like Krunk, I would still love you. But please try not to get blue.” He jokes and smiles gentle, making Hanbin smile too and sigh. “I try not to get blue...” Bobby grins and hugs Hanbin tight. “Idiot.” Hanbin breaths in Bobby's scent and replies cutely. “You too.” They stay for a few seconds longer like this then let go. Bobby smiles and lifts the picture of their babies. “We better head home now, to tell Gwihanie the news. I bet he is already waiting for us.” Hanbin nods and takes the picture while he puts his other hand on his stomach. “Let's go.” Bobby wraps his arm around Hanbins waist and walks him to the elevators and further to their car to head home.

When they come back Gwihan already hears them from outside the windows and rushes towards the entrance. Yunhyeong and his sister sigh and follow Gwihanie when Bobby and Hanbin open the door. Bobby holds on to Hanbins waist as he helps him inside. Gwihan looks worried and taps from one foot to the other. “Is Appa alright? Why are you so late? Why do you have to support Appa?” He clutters them with questions. Bobby and Hanbin smile at Gwihan and Bobby picks up his son and makes him rest on his left hip. “Aigo~...that's a lot of questions you have there. But first I hope you were a good boy while we were away?” He looks to Yunhyeong and his sister who just reached the hallway. Yunhyeong smiles and crosses his arms, leaning on the doorframe. “He was really good. Don't worry.” Hanbin just took off his shows and walks next to Bobby and pats Gwihans head. “That's my good boy.” Gwihan smiles proudly then shakes his head and grabs Bobby's shirt with his tiny wrists. “But what is with Hanbin appa? Is he sick?” Hanbin sighs together with Bobby then look at each other and turn to Yunhyeong and his dongsaeng. Bobby let down Gwihan and pushes him gently inside the hallway. “Let's go to the living room so Hanbin-appa can sit down and rest.” Gwihan frowns but wobbles ahead and flops on a pillow on the floor. Hanbin pats Yunhyeongs shoulder when he passes by him and points him to follow them with his sister. When everyone is sitting Bobby takes out the picture and hands it to Gwihan. Gwihan looks at it and frowns confused. “What is this? I can't see anything?” Yunhyeong and his sister already know what this means and start grinning excited. Bobby and Hanbin laugh faintly, when Bobby explains. “These little things here...you see them...” Gwihan nods his little head and Bobby continues to explain. “Those two little dots are your dongsaengs, Gwihanie, growing in Hanbins tummy.” Yunhyeon and Eunjin stare at Hanbin and Bobby thinking the same thing. //Twins?// Gwihan looks at his parents with wide eyes then stares at the picture and starts smiling and rushes to the others excited. “Samchon! Noona! Look look! I get a dongsaeng!...Appas said I get a dongsaeng!” He waves the picture in the air and shows it to the others when Yunhyeong smiles just as excited and kneels down to look at it himself. “You mean two dongsaengs.” Gwihan nods his head. “I get two dongsaengs...” He suddenly gets quiet and turns to Hanbin. Hanbin caresses his stomach leaning against Bobby's shoulder. Gwihan pouts and seems as if he is thinking really hard. After a bit he shakes his away his curls form his face and looks at Hanbins stomach then at himself and then again at Hanbins stomach. “Appa...will they have enough space? If they get as big as I am...then you could hurt...” His eyes get watery and he starts to bite his lips. “I don't want Appa to get hurt.” Bobby widens his eyes and rushes to his son and pats his back to comfort him immediately. “Gwihanie, the babies won't be as big as you are now...they will grow slowly and just when they are outside of Hanbins tummy they will grow as tall as you. Don't worry...you see the picture they are still so tiny that you can't even see them.” Gwihan rubs his eyes and snuggles into Bobby's arms. “Araso...then ….I think it will be alright...if they are for now so tiny.” Bobby and Hanbin smile. Yunhyeong and Eunjin chuckle then turn to Gwihan. “Let me see, your dongsaengs too, please.” Gwihan nods his head and points with his tiny finger on the picture. “This little dot is my dongsaeng...and this one too.” He turns to Bobby to make sure and Bobby nods his head assuring. Gwihan smiles but just then he realises that this looks kind of strange. He turns the picture and holds it really close to his eyes. “It looks really strange but Appa says it is growing so I will wait...but...but I hope it will grow fast.” Everyone starts smiling when they hear Gwihans cute concern and after taking a look at the picture Yunhyeong and Eunjin go and congratulate Bobby and Hanbin to their twins.
