She began walking up the path with her bag in one hand and her other hand tightly clenching her shawl around her neck. As she walked she could hear the footsteps of a creature following closely beside her. She stopped and turned to the forest on either side of her.

“Who are you? Show yourself!”

Two great glowing eyes appeared from the trees, as a large wolf slowly walked toward her. 

"Beware," he said.

She continued walking, and he continued to follow beside her through the trees.

"Beware, woman."

“I've nothing to fear, I am merely going to my new home, and I'm nearly there,” she replied, nervously.

“That is not a very good idea.”

She continued to walk in silence, trying to ignore the wolf that continued to follow her.

“You really shouldn’t go there, you know.”

“What do you know of it,” she snapped.

"I know a great deal of it, as a matter of fact. This was my home once, before the evil drove me out and turned me into this pathetic creature.”

She feigned disinterest.

“Is that so?”

“It is so.”

The wolf tilted his head and lifted a great paw toward her.

“You certainly have great difficulty understanding things, don’t you?”

“Oh, I understand you,” she said. “I
