Part 2

Rapunzel and The Knight

“But really, how can you end up here?”

“Do you want a fiction or a real version?”

“Deh?”

Shinhye laughs as she went to pick up some herbs.

“I vaguely remembered. I lost quite a lot of my memories but I do know I was cursed. I remember my parents. But how am I here, I don’t know.”

Yonghwa blinks and Shinhye breathes out.

“Are you in the middle if thinking if I might be lying or speaking the truth?”

Yonghwa grins as he scratch the back of his head.

“I knew it. Why do I care telling you?”

She nags, went to a blueberry plant and plucks some, Yonghwa tailing her.

“It’s not my fault okay. You have been trolling me by talking nonsense since earlier.”

“Me?”

Shinhye was angry and she huffs.

She puts her hands on her hips before she glares at him.

“You are the ridiculous, clumsy, weak and pathetic prince who believe in fairy tales yet you are looking down on me?”

“Hey. I’m not saying anything of. Wait.”

Yonghwa then squints his eyes towards her.

“You said that I’m weak?”

Shinhye had her arms cross now, nodding one time.

“Clumsy and also pathetic?”

He asks more and Shinhye rolls her eyes, almost falls backward if not because of her fast reflex.

Her hair is too heavy, so do you know, ahem.

“You aren’t the typical prince charming I wish you would be.”

She added.

“Have you ever help me? Once even?”

“I push the door for you.”

“Showing off?”

She asks and pulls the basket of apples off his hand.

“You eat all of mine; that I secure it so that I won’t be hungry on my way out of this place.”

She frowns at the number of remaining apples.

“You ate 6 of them!”

She spells, eyes widen.

“I’m hungry okay.”

Yonghwa said, his lips.

“Hungry? Yeah right. If you eat this much, you aren’t just hungry. You arw a hungry pig!”

“Yah. Stop that.”

“Don’t tell me to stop.”

She retaliates in anger and Yonghwa stops talking.

Shinhye is in anger.

Her face flush so he now really understand that it’s not a fantasy that he was here, it’s real.

“I’m sorry, Shinhye. I’ll make up.”

She look at him with piercing gaze.

“How?”

“I’ll help you out. Simple.”

“Okay.”

She said quickly and her expression soften.

“I’m sorry. I’m just too frustrated.”

She sat down, gives Yonghwa the basket of apples and hugs her knees.

“I was told that I can go out if someone manage to penetrate into the magic circle that was made to close me out from people. When finally someone came, I was too excited that I lose my sanity.”

Yonghwa too sat down beside her, copying how she sat.

“Who tell you that?”

“A fairy.”

Yonghwa coughs at the unexpected answer from Shinhye.

He just drop the idea and now she talks about fairy.

“I’m not lying. I saw her and she gave me this.”

She took out the wand and he was fascinated.

“She told me about why I’m here, that I was cursed but she can’t break the rule. If she tell me more, she will end up being a butterfly. Not a fairy anymore.”

Yonghwa take all of it inside his mind, switching back to fairy tale mode.

“What else did she tell you?”

“She is mentioning a name but since it was before she disappear, I can’t heard it clear.”

“I see. What about the name?”

“That he will save me.”

“It might be me.”

Said Yonghwa, grinning.

But when Shinhye looks at him unamused, he chuckles.

“I’m joking. That couldn’t be me.”

“Yes. But how can you penetrate the circle?”

“I didn’t see any. I just ran where my legs brought me to.”

“But why are you running away?”

“I was blamed for something I didn’t do.”

He sighs, throwing a small stone to his front.

“What is it?”

“It’s not a big deal actually but some huntsmen are after my blood.”

“So you do have problems too.”

“I can manage it.”

He said, smiling.

Shinhye too smiles at his adorable smile and rested her chin on her knees.

“Do you know where is the way out?”

“Yes. I tried going through it but I ended up walking into my bedroom again. That’s when I know, I can go out with someone who found here.”

“And that’s me.”

He said, smiling gently.

“Now should we go?”

“I’ll have to secure some more food for us both. Since you eat a lot.”

Said Shinhye and jumps as she stood up.

“I told you, I’m just hungry.”

“Ara.”

Shinhye commented and went to the strawberry plants.

“You have a lot of talent in farming.”

“The fairies help a lot.”

Shinhye said and Yonghwa smiles.

As hard as he wants to believe that fairy tale do exist and happy ending is a must, he too can’t stop thinking if they could go out safely.

The smile in Shinhye’s face makes him feel more nervous.

She is too excited that she can finally go out of the cursed place but what if he is not capable enough?

“Shall we go now Prince?”

Yonghwa has no choice but to nod at her question.
