Nayoung groaned at Somi's screeching voice butchering the poor song's lyrics for the umpteenth time. What's worse, Mina and Sohye had decided to join in this time because of churros. Doyeon and Yoojung were upstairs doing only God knew what, Yeonjung had left the dorm this afternoon, while Chaeyeon had to go following her DIA schedule.

The phone in her hand vibrated, the caller ID in the screen telling her it's Jieqiong. With a deep breath, Nayoung received the call,

"Hello?"

"Nayoung unnie, the churros are all sold out."

Behind her, Mina and Somi attempted to do a musical rendition of Churros song, with Sohye making use of table and her hands to create the beats. Nayoung pinched the bridge of her nose, trying to avoid groaning yet again.

"There's no churros?"

"Zip, zilch, nope." Jieqiong sounded apologetic to deliver the news. "Why don't you try asking Chungha unnie, though? Maybe she can find some on her way back... she's in the company right now, isn't she?"

Nayoung blinked.

"Oh," she said, "that's actually a good idea. Thank you, Jieqiong."

"Anytime for you," Jieqiong smoothly replied, "I don't like seeing you stressed."

"You're the cause of my stress most of the time," Nayoung deadpanned.

"Ouch," Jieqiong gasped in mock hurt. Nayoung could practically hear the laughter in Jieqiong's voice as the girl continued, "That's true."

"Stone leader messaged me."

Sejeong looked up from the floor, "She did?" She willed herself to sit up from her position, grimacing when her muscles protested loudly at her movements.

"She said we need to bring churros with us when we come back..." the older girl paused, "Sejeong, are you okay?"

Sejeong grinned sheepishly as Chungha her heel to approach her. In contrast to Sejeong's painful effort in sitting, Chungha seemed like she could go on for another hour of dancing.

"I'm okay," she answered when Chungha crouched down in front of her with a worried face. The latter scrunched her eyebrows together, her lips forming an adorable pout,

"I don't tire you out too much, do I?"

Sejeong smiled and raised her hand to press a finger down the crease between Chungha's eyebrows. "No, nothing I don't approve of." She let her finger linger there for a while as her eyes silently traced the face in front of her.

How is she so beautiful?

It was a fleeting thought that made Sejeong draw her hand back in a jest, flustered by her own mind. Chungha blinked, face feigning confusion at Sejeong's sudden act.

"Um," Sejeong nervously cleared , "let's go home, then. It must be urgent for us to buy churros."

Chungha smiled and nodded. She stood up, offering a hand for Sejeong to take.

Don't take it.

A little voice in the back of her mind protested as Sejeong accepted the open hand, letting Chungha to pull her up to stand.

There was an unnamed flutter inside her stomach when Chungha didn't let go of her hand and instead, pulled her to walk towards their bags in the corner of the room.

"Sejeong."

She tried to focus on Chungha's clear voice instead of the ridiculous warmth in her heart, but it seemed to do a little to nothing. It was ridiculous.

"Yeah?"

A squeeze of their interlocked fingers,

"Cheer up."

Sejeong let out a chuckle, "Do I look like I'm down?"

They stopped in front of their bags, letting go of each other's hand to reach for their respective belongings. When Sejeong had shouldered her bag and looked up, Chungha was already staring at her with a soft smile that held Sejeong's heart captive.

"Even the happiest person wil need someone to tell them cheer up once in a while."

Sejeong's heart pounded and thumped in her ears. Chungha had turned around and began to walk, seemingly not aware of the effect her words had. With her mind's mental nagging, Sejeong followed suit, not wanting Chungha to suspect the thunderous chaos within her heart.

What is this?

She caught up in no time, matching Chungha's brisk steps with her own. Chungha glanced at her, and somehow that one glance was enough to coax a smile out of her lips.

Chungha raised her brow, "Why are you smiling?"

"Do you want to be my someone?"

"There goes your greasiness again." Chungha faked a frown and looked away, grumbling under her breath about 'a flirt who doesn't know she's one'.

Despite the mess she had inside, Sejeong smiled.

"Thank you."

"Mhm."

They walked in comfortable silence towards their van, a request of a bag of churros looming over them from a bunch of hungry beagles.

Sometimes, their fingers brushed lightly.

And Sejeong wondered how much did it take for her heart to give up and just hold that warm hand in her own already.

Once.

Twice.

Thrice.

Just get it together—

"We're here."

Sejeong shoved her hands into her pockets, pouting at how fate played off today.

Before she could act upon her thought, they had reached their van, a little too soon.

"Why are you pouting?"

Right, cheer up.

Sejeong shook her head at Chungha's question and smiled, following the latter to board the vehicle.

"It's nothing."

She would try to understand her brain later.
