Against the Rhythm
Mijoo & YeinYein can't fall asleep.
At the rate that this is going, she's certain that she's going to be able to watch the sun rise through the window. It definitely wouldn't be her first time doing such a thing, but she only cares because she and the rest of the badminton club have a long, hectic training schedule laid out for them. And that personal hell is set to begin in about five hours, Yein estimates after she takes a reluctant glance at the clock. She carefully rolls out of bed, remaining as silent as possible as to avoid disturbing any of her clubmates. Once she's on her feet, she grabs the jacket hanging on the corner post of her bed.
If she's going to watch the sun rise, then she might as well get the best view she can.
Yein tiptoes past the slumbering girls, soundlessly cursing at the floorboards creaking beneath her feet, until her hands come into contact with the doorknob. She hurriedly leaves the room without a single look back, and she sighs in relief once she's on the other side of the door. Getting caught would mean having to explain herself, and she hasn't gotten used to communicating with the other members of the club quite yet. She creeps toward the main door that would take her outside, to freedom. The most difficult part of her escape is over. Well, at least she thinks it is.
"What are you doing here?" Yein flinches instantly at the sound of another sleepless soul. She faces the source of the inquiry and squints through the darkness, trying to identify the shadowy figure standing before her with their arms folded over their chest. She's never been good with names and she still can't tack a name onto all of the faces in the badminton club, but she knows Lee Mijoo. Mijoo is quiet like her, except that Yein is only quiet because she doesn't know everyone well enough to casually talk and joke around with them. Mijoo was also the first person in the club to approach Yein
