The Haunting

Just The Words

Sometimes the night is dark and stormy. Sometimes the ghosts of what you had run their fingers down a spine

And when that happens, you want to turn to the last page

Dont. You’ll ruin the story.

Yong-sun’s face burns up once more, not giving Byul-yi an audible answer. Instead she gently pulls the girl by her hair before going in for another kiss. Byul-yi gives a hot sigh and oh God did Yong-sun forget just how hard it was for her to just not give in to the younger’s request.

Byul-yi opens her eyes to just see the older’s reaction, she starts to give her wet kisses passed her lips trailing down to her neck. She feels the grip that Yong-sun has on her go tighter and this only encourages her to leave marks.

Yong-sun didn’t seem to mind anyways, but who would even try to stop Moon Byul-yi in the first place?

“Yong-sun.”

The older let’s out a throaty hum in response, her head not really in the right place. Byul-yi’s hands find their way to the bottom of Yong-sun’s shirt “Is this really okay?”

This makes Yong-sun throw her a look “Byul-ah, if you don’t take this shirt off right now then I’m doing it myself and you won’t be allowed to touch me.”

Byul-yi smiles at this response as she pulls the girl’s shirt off, once this was off Byul-yi gives Yong-sun a quick peck on the lips “I really do love you, Yong-sun.”

Yong-sun’s face turns soft at her confession “I love you too.”

------

Yong-sun wakes up with a groan, her whole body hurting from soreness. She cups the hands that were wrapped around her waist, a smile replacing her frown.

Holy crap they were official now, the older somehow managed to find herself back in her first love’s arms again. Her whole body flutters at the thought of them being a couple now.

Yong-sun slowly removes the arm away from her to sit up, oh here comes the soreness again. She looks down at the younger with furrowed eyebrows, Byul-yi just did her like she hadn’t had in years. Okay Yong-sun was partly to blame, pleading to her that it was more than okay to be rough.

Yong-sun decides it’s time for her to take a shower, she goes through her girlfriend’s clothes and almost lets out a gasp of surprise once she sees herself in the mirror. She had hickies everywhere, there had to be at least six just on her neck only.

But she decides the younger probably looks somewhat in the same state as she’s in right now. She takes her shower and when she comes back out Byul-yi is finally awake, blinking away her sleepiness.

“Good morning.” Yong-sun says as she dries her hair with a towel, taking slow steps towards her.

Byul-yi looks up at her with a small smile on her face, patting the empty space that Yong-sun had left earlier “Good morning.” her voice hoarse.

Yong-sun pulls the collar of her shirt down slightly “And what am I supposed to do about this? I can’t go home like this.” she throws the towel at the younger, playfully.

Byul-yi grabs Yong-sun by her waist and pulls her down with her on the bed, catching the older off guard. Byul-yi squeezes her slightly “Good. Stay here longer, I want to come home to you everyday.” she mumbles.

“I can’t believe I leave for a couple of years and come back to a baby.” Yong-sun laughs in Byul-yi’s arms “What happened to the cool Moon Byul-yi that everyone was afraid to talk to in school?”

Byul-yi lets her hold go and her hands fall down on top of the bed “I can still be that kid I was in high school.”

“Aigoo.” The older between to the two rubs her face on her girlfriend’s neck, a smile lingering on her lips “I like Moon Byul-yi in the past, present and future. Just stay how you are now.”

It was probably too hot to be wearing a turtleneck, but it was that awkward time of the year where the weather couldn’t make up its mind. And it didn’t help that her purple blemishes were still fading away.

Yong-sun holds the lunch boxes that were placed between her hands a little tighter once her eyes set upon her old school. Funny that she still remembered how to get to where in the school. Her heels clicked with each step she took down the hall, she walks past a couple of teenagers who couldn’t help but stare at the older. A pretty unnie just walked passed them.

She stops in front of her girlfriend’s office and Yong-sun starts to remember just how scared she was to be standing there when it was Byul-yi’s dad’s office instead.

She puts her head against the door, wondering if there was anyone in the office with the younger. Deciding that it was safe to just walk in, Yong-sun opens the door with a smile on her face.

Byul-yi looks up from her seat, her own smile forming on her lips. She takes off her reading glasses and rubs her eyes “Hey Yong-sun, I didn’t know you were coming today.”

“That’s kind of the point of a surprise.” she holds the lunch boxes up “I brought lunch, let’s eat together.”

Byul-yi looks up at the clock that was hanging on her wall and stands up from her seat “Want to go get drinks from the cafeteria? My treat.” a playful smile on her lips and Yong-sun didn’t fail to call her out on it “You basically own the school! Everything is free for you.”

“Shhh... don’t tell my girlfriend that. She might be a gold digger or something.”

“Yeah she might be.” Yong-sun plays along and Byul-yi pulls her closer by the waist. “Did you makes this?”

Yong-sun shakes her head, laughing a bit “It’s store bought, I’m awful at making food.”

A peck on the lips “It’s okay, we can pretend you made it and I’ll pretend to like it.”

They release each other and Byul-yi places the boxes on her desk before they head out the door. They walk with a distance between each other, the younger needs to keep a professional attitude for the sake of her career.

As they walked pass the grade levels, there was a chatter amongst the students. One even having the courage to ask “Unnie, are you perhaps….Kim Yong-sun?”

Yong-sun gives her a bright smile and a nod of her head. The girl gives a loud shriek of surprise, her hand covering . And Byul-yi seems to have a proud smile on her face.

“Can I have a selca?” and Yong-sun quickly agrees to the request “I really love your book, seriously!” the young girl says, excitement rising in her voice.

It didn’t take long for the other students who knew who she was to follow with other requests. Byul-yi takes a step back, allowing her students to gush over her girlfriend. After a couple of minutes Byul-yi decides to give the girl a rest, she clears “I think it’s time for our guest to continue her meal, I’m sure this isn’t the last time she’ll make a visit.” She pulls Yong-sun by her arm.

“Noona, if you don’t mind me asking. What are you doing at our school?” a boy asks.

Yong-sun looks at Byul-yi with a smile on her face “I’m good friends with Chairman Moon, we went to school here together.”

There were a bunch ‘oooohhh’s and ‘wahhhhh’s coming from the students, they didn’t know their chairman knew such a celebrity. Byul-yi nods her head towards the cafeteria and Yong-sun follows not before saying her goodbyes to the students.

“You seem like a celebrity.” Byul-yi tries to hide her growing smile.

Yong-sun flips her hair dramatically “I’m too famous for the little people now, and when I mean little I mean you.” she jokes.

Byul-yi raises her eyebrow “I’m taller than you by one centimeter.”

------

Yong-sun didn’t know why she sat so nervous, it wasn’t like she did anything bad. Her leg started shaking and Byul-yi holds her hand that laid on her lap. “Calm down. It’s only Minhyuk.”

Yong-sun doesn't say anything, her mind going a million places and she sat up from Byul-yi’s couch. She jumps once she hears a knock on her door “No wait I’m not ready!” she panics and Byul-yi stands up “Yong-sun I know you’re scared but come on, my brother will probably react the best to this.”

Okay, Byul-yi was most likely right but that still didn’t relax her nerves. Byul-yi walks over to the door and opens it. Her brother’s loud voice heard “Aigoo my sister looks more mature since the  last time- wait is that Yong-sun right there? Like Kim Yong-sun? Your ex girlfriend Yong-sun?” Minhyuk has to take a double look.

“Actually….we’re kind of together again.”

“Like together together?”

Yong-sun stands up with a smile, opening her arms for a small hug “Yeah together together.” Minhyuk jumps into her arms, and the jumping didn’t stop once he was there. “Wow it’s about time you guys got back together!”

Byul-yi rolls her eyes “God, you’re so annoying.”

Minhyuk waves her off and turns back to face Yong-sun “I really missed you and I’m glad to see you back with my sister. Seriously, she turned into more of a hermit while you were gone.” he points to his sister with her thumb “She’s a goof who couldn’t get over you.”

Byul-yi’s face turns a shade of red “Ugh now I remember why I didn’t invite you over more when I was still in highschool.”

They sit down on the couch and Yong-sun doesn’t remember why she was so nervous in the first place. Minhyuk had always been supportive of anything the two did, even if they weren’t together anymore.

“So I’m going back to college...I only have two more years to finish, it’ll be hard but I feel like in the long run it’ll help me support my family.” Minhyuk looks down at the floor.

Yong-sun replies with a ‘that’s really great!’ and Byul-yi looked as if she was thinking “Oppa….I know you don’t like me butting in...but let me give you money-” Minhyuk throws her a stern look “I don’t need any help.”

Yong-sun even puts her two cents “Minhyuk oppa...I think you should take it, be considerate of your girlfriend and child. We’re not kids anymore, we can support ourselves and help you get back on your feet. We’re family now.”

Minhyuk is in deep thought, a sigh leaving his mouth “Yeah we’re family.” He runs his hands through his hair “You know Yong-sun...you really do complete our family.”

Yong-sun’s face feels hot and who cut these onions here? Byul-yi only gives a nod with her arms crossing. Blinking away the small tears that she was holding in, she only replies with a smile.

“So are you going to be staying in Korea now?” he says crossing one leg over the other.

Yong-sun gives a nod “I can work from home so I’ll be able to spend my social life and work life here. I think this would be a good idea considering Byul-yi’s job is here as well.”

Minhyuk claps his hands “Does this mean my sister in law is a famous celebrity? Wow how exciting is this?” he leans back on the couch “That makes me a celebrity too now, huh?”

“Oppa I don’t think that’s how it works.”

------

“Mom, you act like she hasn’t eaten here before.” Yong-sun says as she set out the dinner plates, her eyes going to her mom who was putting in the spices.

“I know but you know Byul-yi never eats a proper meal, she has always been a ‘can’t waste time’ kind of girl. I just want to make sure she’s eating well.” her mom does a taste test “Byul-yi was always one of my favorites from your friends.”

“I only have like three friends.” Yong-sun rolls her eyes. “And I’m telling Seulgi and Naeun you said that.”

Her mom waves her spoon in the air “Oh shush, just hurry up and finish with that. After you’re done go bring your sister out here, food is about ready.”

Yong-sun only lets out a hum and finishes quickly, she knocks on her sister’s door “Unnie, food is ready. Hurry up and come out.” her sister yells a response and Yong-sun walks back.

She checks her phone and sees that she has a message from Byul-yi, that she was almost there. So Yong-sun goes to open the door and waits for her girlfriend outside.

Byul-yi pulls in the driveway and waves at her while sitting in her seat. “Hey loser.” she says once she’s hearing distance.

“You haven’t eaten yet right? Because my mom made a lot of food for you.”

Byul-yi shakes her head “I had a light lunch so I could eat a lot tonight.” she gives Yong-sun a hug and pulls away “She cooks good and I know she’ll get sad if I don’t eat a lot.” a laugh follows.

Yong-sun grabs her by the hand and pulls her in, only to let go right before they enter the kitchen.

Her sister furrows her eyebrows but doesn’t say anything once the two sit next to each other. Yong-sun can feel her sister’s stare on her but now wasn’t the time to talk about it.

“Your dad called and said he was coming home late, ah Byul-yi you’re here. I made a lot so eat well.” Her mom places their food on their plates.

Byul-yi gives a polite smile and a nod “Thank you.”

The four go over their week and Yong-sun tried her best to ignore her sister’s stare. “So mom, I decided to stay longer in Korea.”

Her mom’s face brightens up “Oh really? For how long?”

She gives a shrug “I’ll most likely be here for awhile. I’m going to be working from home from now on. Maybe go visit Naeun from time to time.”

“That’s good, we miss you over here.” her mom snaps her fingers, a small laugh “I remember when you first left, Byul-yi used to come over all the time. She missed you the most I think.”

Yong-sun turns to face Byul-yi with a teasing smile but the girl’s face was already red once that sentence left her mom’s mouth. “The seafood you brought over was good, did you get it from Busan?”

A cough came from Byul-yi “No I bought if from in town. But yeah I think I did miss Yong-sun the most.”

“I’ll see you tomorrow?”

Yong-sun nods her head and a hum “I’ll text you tonight, let me know when you get home.” she grabs a hold of Byul-yi’s hand.

Byul-yi nods her head as well “Goodbye Yong-sun, I’ll see you tomorrow. Tell your mom again that the food was great.” The oldest then turns around to make sure no one was looking and gives a quick peck on the lips.

They part ways and Yong-sun is surprised to see her sister sitting on her bed with a smirk on her face “So I see that you and Byul-yi are back together.”

Yong-sun leans on her shut door “And why do you think that?”

Her sister throws her an obvious look of disbelief “Come on, you must think I’m stupid or something? You guys were throwing heart eyes at each other the whole damn time.” she shakes her head “And you guys were flirting in front of us, how shameless.”

“Okay fine, you’re right. We got back together recently. And you’re just jealous because you don’t have anyone.” Yong-sun looks to the side with her chin up high, arms crossed.

“I can find someone!”

“Yeah yeah.”

Her sister rubs her face with her hand “Okay, whatever.” and stands up from the bed, she walks towards Yong-sun. Her sister pushes her to the side and holds the door knob “But it’s good seeing you guys back together. It’s almost like you guys never broke up in the first place. The feeling is good.” she says before opening the door.

------

“You need to get up, you’re going to be late for work.” Yong-sun says, her tired voice trying to wake up her girlfriend. Byul-yi doesn’t say anything but instead rest her head on Yong-sun’s chest.

“If you don’t get up we’re not going to do these little sleepovers anymore, anytime I come over you want to stay in bed longer.” she wouldn’t be nagging so much if Byul-yi wasn’t almost late last time.

Byul-yi slowly gets up, her body stretching and then rubs her tired face. Yong-sun looks at the clock “Come on, get up sleepy head.” she lightly pushes her to hurry up “Take a shower and I’ll prepare your clothes for you.”

Byul-yi gets up with a small groan but nonetheless does as told. Once her figure disappeared into the bathroom, Yong-sun let’s out a groan herself. She was tired but knowing that Byul-yi realized she liked to sleep in longer than eating a good breakfast, she needed the younger to get up for work.

She drags her body out from the bed and picks out Byul-yi’s work outfit for the day. Yong-sun sets it on top on her work chair and goes back to bed. It didn’t take long for Byul-yi to come out of the shower and get ready herself.

Yong-sun could faintly hear her girlfriend getting ready as her mind was fighting it’s sleep. She feels Byul-yi’s hand on her head, a whisper “I’m leaving now Yong-sun, goodbye I love you.”

-----

“You’re being clingy today, unnie.” Seulgi laughs as the older dragged her out of the movie theater.

“It’s not everyday that you’re free Seulgi.” Yong-sun replies. Truth be told Yong-sun asked to hang out to tell the younger about her dating Byul-yi again. She doesn’t know how the girl would react to this news.

When she told Hakyeon about it, he had mixed feelings about the whole thing. He still gave his support but his reaction worried Yong-sun on how Seulgi would react. “Now come on, unnie will pay for our food.”

Seulgi acts like she’s holding a shot in hand and flicks her wrist “You want to go for some drinks? I don’t think we’ve ever drunk alcohol together.”

“Ok call.” this would be a good thing, maybe the alcohol would give her the confidence to confess to Seulgi. Hopefully she wouldn’t be too hurt about Yong-sun keeping it a secret for this long. “We can go to the stall close to my house, so if we drink too much it’ll be easier to get home.”

It was getting cold outside that Yong-sun was sure that it was going to snow again soon. They were crazy but then again they were the weird ones out of their group of friends. They go under the tent, Seulgi raising her hand to the owner “We’ll have an order of chicken feet and two bottles of soju.”

They get their order and Seulgi pours the older her shot and then pours herself her own shot “This is so exciting, you’re someone I respect a lot and I didn’t think I would get this chance since I thought you would stay in the states and never come back.”

Yong-sun doesn’t say anything, instead she holds her shot up and Seulgi does the same. She turns her head to drink to the side.

It didn’t take long for the two to start getting dizzy, Seulgi ranting “If I knew it was going to be this hard being a medical student….I wouldn’t have done it in the first place. I must’ve been crazy when I decided to take that exam, seriously so crazy.” she ruffles her hair.

Yong-sun gives a small laugh “You don’t know how smart you are Seulgi, this is the time to gather all your strength and push through it. Trust unnie, the hard times will pass.”

“How did you get through your slump?”

Yong-sun sits, thinking on what words would help the younger the most. She hums “You. You helped me Seulgi.”

Seulgi’s head drops and has a hard time keeping it up but Yong-sun continues to talk after one more shot “Surrounding yourself with around people who continue to try to build you up is helpful. They give you encouragement that you didn’t think you needed and push you to better yourself. I never told you that Seulgi, so thank you.”

Yong-sun gets up and puts Seulgi’s arm around her neck, she walks out the tent with the younger who could barely walk out of there on her own two feet.

She can do this “Seulgi….unnie has something to tell you.”

It had just now started to snow and Yong-sun is grateful that there was no wind. “You know Byul-yi and unnie….-” Seulgi then cuts her off, waving her off.

“Don’t even get me started on you two.” and Yong-sun doesn’t know how to react as Seulgi pushes herself away from her, probably sobering up a little “You guys really hurt me, you know.”

Yong-sun tries to get a hold on the younger somehow but it doesn’t happen, she shouldn’t have drank that much earlier.

“It was like my parents divorced and I was forced to pick a side on who I wanted to stay with.” Had Seulgi always been this emotional when she was drunk? “I liked the both of you guys but you two couldn’t be together for an hour without one starting an argument.” Her face scrunching up.

She should stop Seulgi now but the older didn’t have the heart to not let Seulgi let it all out “Do you know how hard it was to be around Byul-yi unnie when you two broke up? She was so heartbroken and sad all the time...I wanted to comfort her the best I could but every time I tried... it didn’t feel right. It felt like I was betraying you for some reason.”

Seulgi squats and rest her face on her knees “It was seriously so hard unnie...and you were out in the states doing whatever you were doing while Byul-yi unnie shut herself out to everyone….” she starts to cry “I’m sorry unnie….you have been so good to me...but at one point I...I hated you for leaving us behind.”

Yong-sun doesn’t know what to say, she didn’t know just how their breakup affected her friend. She squats in front of Seulgi and pats her head “It’s okay Seulgi...you can hate unnie. Unnie is sorry for leaving you too. I love you anyways.”

Seulgi starts to sob harder as she hears Yong-sun’s last words, she felt bad for even thinking so lowly of the older. “But you know...I had a hard time too, at least Byul-yi had you and her brother but me? I had no one there for me through my hard times when we broke up. I went up there not knowing anyone but honestly speaking….I missed Byul-yi more than anything when I was in the states.”

Yong-sun lets out a sigh “If I hadn’t opened up to Naeun when I did I don’t think I would be the person I am today so please don’t hate me too much.” she pleaded and Seulgi didn’t have the heart to look up to the girl.

It was probably a minute that passed, Yong-sun letting Seulgi calm down “Come on Seulgi, let's go home.”

Seulgi stands up, wiping her face with her hands and walks together with Yong-sun. They walked in silence before the older decides to break it “You know..Seulgi..earlier…”

Seulgi hums, encouraging her to continue “Byul-yi and me...we got back together.” this makes the girl stop in her steps.

“Are you being serious?”

Yong-sun gives a nod “We’re serious about each other, you know? We’ve always been...it just took us a little longer to come back to each other. I love her, Seulgi….I really love her.”

Seulgi then let’s out the ugliest sob that Yong-sun has ever seen the girl give “I’m sorry Seulgi, I really am.”

“H-how long? How l-long has it b-been?” she says inbetween.

“Three weeks now, I know I should have told you sooner but I was scared. I was scared of what everyone would think. I mean like you said, you guys are the ones who witnessed our fall out.” Yong-sun rambles.

It took a while for Seulgi to finally say something “That’s a relief.”

Yong-sun cracks a smile and Seulgi smiles back “You guys really do belong with each other.” the younger looks up at the dark sky. “When you guys broke up I didn’t think true love existed. You and Byul-yi unnie were really crazy for each other and it scared me to think that it could happen to me too. It’s a relief, it really is.”

Seulgi crosses arms with Yong-sun, walking towards her house again “I’m really happy, unnie. You seriously don’t know.”

“I really am serious about Byul-yi, I love her.” she then jokes “Should I run away with her?”

“Yeah you should.”

------

Naeun’s reaction when she told the girl was even better than Minhyuk, in fact she screamed into the phone yelling “I knew it, I knew it!”

Yong-sun replied “You did not.”

She could almost see her friend roll her eyes “Please I could tell from the first night we ate dinner together. You guys were practically throwing hearts eyes to each other.” They couldn’t have been that obvious, right? Her older sister basically said the same thing.

“No we weren’t!”

“Okay fine, you weren’t. So does that mean you’re not going to come back?” Yong-sun could tell she was a bit sad.

“I’ll...I’ll come back to visit but I’m no longer going to live there anymore….you’re the only reason why I have doubts about staying here.” Yong-sun looks down as she talks.

“You know…” Naeun gives a sigh “As much as I want you to come back here, I know you’re going to be so much happier staying there. I mean you’re friends, family and not to mention Byul-yi is going to be with you. And if you stay here, it’s just me…you know?”

It kind of hurt Yong-sun by how Naeun was putting herself down, Yong-sun owes the girl a lot. “It’s not just you..you’re my best friend and mean so much to me too.”

Naeun lets out a small laugh “We both know how much you want to stay in Korea, how much you missed living there. I just don’t want you to regret anything.”

Yong-sun closes her eyes and leans back into the wall “Naeun, thanks for everything.”

“Stop being gross. Now tell me, how exactly did you and Byul-yi get back together.”

------

It was too dark for Yong-sun to see but she somehow managed find some seats at the top, they were going to watch a movie. She pulls Byul-yi up with her.

“I didn’t think we were going to make it.” Byul-yi says, her eyes on the screen.

Yong-sun gives a sorry smile “Sorry I needed to drop off something to Seulgi.” She lies her head on top of Byul-yi’s shoulders and the younger lies her head on top of Yong-sun’s.

“You owe me something then.” Byul-yi says with a hint of mischief in her voice.

“Fine I’ll buy lunch next time.” The older yawns right after, suddenly sleepy.

“I don’t think I want that…” Byul-yi uses her finger and points to Yong-sun’s lips “I want that.” Yong-sun turns shy at Byul-yi’s words and pushes her hand away “You’re such a ert.” she runs her hand through her hair “Besides you can get that whenever you want.”

“Even right now?”

“Even right now.”

------

“So Byul-yi unnie is coming to hang out with us today?” Seulgi’s face brightens up once Yong-sun mentions this. The older gives a nod, a hum following afterwards.

Yong-sun can see a million thoughts run through Seulgi’s face just by seeing her facial expressions. It’s been awhile since the three actually hung out together.

She looks down on at her phone “Byul-yi said she was going to be a little late, there’s a couple of last minute papers she needs to go over.” Seulgi nods her head furiously at the older’s words.

Seulgi starts to tap her finger on the table nervously and it shocked Yong-sun by how her friend was acting. She didn’t expect Seulgi to be as nervous as she is right now, Yong-sun thought she would be the most nervous out of the three.

“Hey.” she puts a hand on Seulgi’s, stopping her tapping and Seulgi looks at the girl “What’s wrong.” she questions.

Seulgi takes a fast intake of air before giving out a small sigh “I just….do you think..do you think Byul-yi unnie will be mad at me? It’s been a little while since I’ve last talked to her….”

Yong-sun gives a bewildered look, so this is why Seulgi was acting to nervously. “ I think.” Yong-sun tries to get her words together “Even if you don’t talk to a good friend in awhile….if you can talk to each other like nothings happened and pick up where you guys last left off then that’s what a real friendship is.”

Seulgi seems to be in deep thought “And if..we don’t pick up? If it’s awkward?”

“Things take time Seulgi. And time is something that we have.”

Byul-yi comes through Yong-sun’s door and Yong-sun turns her attention to her girlfriend “Sorry I came late.” she takes a seat next Yong-sun. “Hey Seulgi.”

Seulgi had a blank expression on her face and Byul-yi looked at Yong-sun who gave a shrug. “Seulgi?” she waved a hand in front of her face.

Seulgi gives a small pout before throwing herself at the older “Hi unnie, I love you and I’m to see you with Yong-sun unnie. Did I mention that I love you already? Because I do.”

Byul-yi laughs at this, her caressing her palm on top of the younger’s head “I love you too.”

Deciding to be playful Yong-sun crosses her arms a frown on her face “Seulgi-yah I get jealous too.”

“Unnie did you hear something?” Seulgi says sounding playful herself as she looks up at Byul-yi.

Byul-yi shakes her head with a smile on her face “Yah.” Yong-sun says almost sounding hurt.

Maybe Yong-sun was right about real friends picking up where they left out no matter how long they’ve been apart for. It was almost like the three were sitting at the cafeteria back when they were still in high school. Yong-sun loved this.

------

Byul-yi gives a kiss to Yong-sun’s cheek as Yong-sun finishes some last minute work on her laptop “Yong-sun.”

Yong-sun stops typing on her laptop and gives a quick peck on her girlfriend’s lips. A smile on her lips once Byul-yi kisses her back. Byul-yi then sits on top of her bed, her hands going over the blanket.

“You know I’ve been thinking.” Byul-yi looks into her eyes “We’ve been together for some good months, well really years if you want to count our younger years…”

Yong-sun nods slowly giving her an encouraging look, not really sure where Byul-yi was going with this.

“You come here almost everyday...sleep here most of the time...have spare clothes here…” Byul-yi suddenly sounded nervous as she kept listing “..you have your own work space here..and I like seeing you here when I come home from work..”

Yong-sun turns her rolling chair to face Byul-yi, the girl only grew more nervous. “I’d just like it if you wanted to stay here...permanently.”

Yong-sun raises both her eyebrows in surprise “Are you asking me to move in with you?”

Byul-yi was a stuttering mess “I-I mean o-only if you want to! I’m n-not forcing you or anything. If you say n-no that’s fine, it won’t affect our relationship in anyway.” she starts waving her hands furiously.

The older starts to smile brightly “Byul-yi, calm down.” she turns to face her laptop “I’d love to move in, I mean we basically were before we just made it official.”

She could feel Byul-yi relax even when she was across the otherside of the room. “Yong-sun.”

“Hmm.”

“I really do love you, with all my heart.”

“I love you too and I think I just finished my second book.” Yong-sun sits back in chair. Byul-yi gets up and walks towards her girlfriend, her arm resting around her shoulder once she reaches her.

“You worked hard.” Byul-yi says scrolling through a few pages through her digital book.

Just The Words

“Now I’ll have a lot more free time with this book finished.” it was nice not meeting a deadline anymore. She sends it to her publisher, who’s going to be more than happy that she got it done even before her deadline.

“Should we go traveling when you’re free?” Yong-sun looks up to Byul-yi who nodded at this idea. Byul-yi’s phone that was on her nightstand starts to go off. “Please don’t be business.”

“Invest in a work phone babe.” maybe that’ll help her know when it’s personal or business. Byul-yi walks and grabs her phone, taking the phone call and Yong-sun looks back to her work.

She hears the younger let out a panic yelp before ending the phone call. Byul-yi quickly pulls the girl up from her seat and Yong-sun throws her a confused look “What’s wrong?”

“Oppa’s baby is on the way.” Byul-yi’s face paled.

Yong-sun rolls her eyes “Byul-yi you’re not the one having the baby. But you know what go ahead and take a couple of deep breaths before you pass out.”

Yong-sun locks the door of Byul-yi’s home, their home.

The Beating of Fist Against Gravestones

Do not be sad that I am gone. I didn’t go.

You are holding me. I am these words and these Pages.

And I am holding you too.

This is forever.

(Never) The End.

Ok originally this chapter was supposed to be called The Shipwreck In My Head. And the poem for this one was

Everything you do, you pay for. So if you’re going to kiss me

You’d best be prepared to bleed.

Chpt. 7 was going to be The Last Thing You Said, and oooohhhh boy was I going to make this one the saddest one ever!!!

As you lay dying, we asked if there was anything else you wanted us to include in the book before we sent it back to you.

“Love, at every opportunity you are given to love. Be less afraid. Embrace each day (none are promised). Cry when you need to, it’ll make you feel better. You were put on this planet to feel every feeling you could, do that. Everything works out in the end.

I promise.”

Don’t kill me for what I was going to do to Naeun!! In this chapter, Yong-sun hadn’t really kept up with Naeun the past couple of days, a week maybe but during that week where she hadn’t talked to the girl Naeun gets in a pretty bad car wreck. Passes away even. And Yong-sun is literally destroyed by the sudden news. So this chapter was basically her going to the US for Naeun’s funeral, Yong-sun thinking of their empty promises, and at the end closure. She even feels bad because she didn’t even tell Naeun that she was back with Byul-yi and that’s what Yong-sun feels the worst about. At the end, Byul-yi basically proves that she’s there for the girl in every way and Yong-sun comes to terms that not everyone is going to be with you tomorrow.

Chpt 8’s main topic was….The Envy of A Billion Little Unique Snowflakes.

I don’t care what people think. I fell in love with you

Not People

In this chapter, it’s basically about acceptance. The two wanted acceptance from their family and friends. What I had planned for this is….sometimes the people you at least expect it from show the most support and vice versa. Both Yong-sun and Byul-yi come out of the closet to their parents and things turn out uglier for some.

As for Yong-sun, her parents absolutely hated it, even the idea of their daughter being gay made them angry. When she first tells her parents she felt betrayed since her parents had always been accepting. It’s basically “Other people’s kids can be gay I just don’t want my kids to be.”

Yong-sun basically breaks free and learns that at the end of the day she is what she is and that wasn’t going to change. Either her parents still want to be in her life they can, if not they can go. She’s not going to force them but she’s not going to sit around and let them try to control her either. Her parents choose not to be in her life.

Byul-yi finally takes a stand for herself, making it clear on who she wanted to stay with. Her parents are surprisingly ok with it, they knew who Yong-sun was and knew she was a good girl. They should have expected it really, or at least that’s what her mom says. They ask for them to keep it a secret knowing others won’t have the same ideal as them. Byul-yi then forms a new bond with her parents and Yong-sun is proud to see how much progress they’ve made as a family.

Chpt 9 was going to be the last chapter with the title The Haunting.

Which was basically just going to be a catch up chapter, going over what everyone was doing with their lives. How Yong-sun’s and Byul-yi relationship made everyone’s life better and the friends being friends again.

I honestly couldn't remember the flow of this story which is why it took me so long to finish. I just want to say that I’m sorry for making you guys wait so long...

And I have a big announcement! I’m actually going away to the military in two days (a good friend of mine leaving two days after me). I hope you guys can send me support and encouragement. Now this being said….will I ever come back to write more moonsun in the future? Who knows! I’m going away for bootcamp for 8 weeks! Things can happen and I might never come back at all.

I just want to thank you guys (old or new readers) for even reading my stories in the first place...really it still amazes me that just one person is even reading my silly fanfic. Chapter 8: What a really great story, I love it. From the writting to the poems that I enjoyed reading to be honest. I'm glad you decided to not kill Naeun because oh boy, I would riot. Also, I assosiated this fanfic with a less tragic version of All Too Well by Taylor Swift, two lovers breaking up due continuos fighting, the way they kinda deal with it, the way Byul appeared on a signing event (That in the film it was a reading of the book), the scarf, among other things. Fantastic fic, good writting, thank you for making a 2nd part authornim.
