JoongKi woke up the next day and stayed in bed. He looked at the ceiling as he recalled the events the previous night. He kept on thinking about her for almost 5 mins and realized that he just can’t stop thinking about Hye Kyo

‘I want to protect her’ he thought as he sat up and went to the kitchen for breakfast, he then realized that he has nothing to do for the whole as he was in vacation. He then called Jin Goo to meet up. 

Hye Kyo looked at herself in the mirror as she was about to wash her face. Dark circles were starting to form under her eyes and she looked more stressed than the usual. She then remembered what happened the previous night, images of Hyun Bin and her sister can’t stop flashing in her mind. She also recalled what happened in the park and everything JoongKi told her

‘He’s a great guy, but I just can’t open up my heart yet, not this time’ she thought. She then finished preparing and continued her day as a surgeon in the hospital

JoongKi and Jin Goo decided to meet at the military training grounds. They were so bored that they decided to go target shooting.

“How was your night” Jin Goo asked while they were preparing their guns

“It was okay” JoongKi replied

“Do you like her?” 

“I guess so”

“Ji Won was surprised for you running off like that” JoongKi looked at him and smiled

“Both of you looked like you needed some time alone, aren’t you thankful? seems like you had a great night” Joong Ki said as he nudged his friend. They both laughed as they started their target shooting. Their practice lasted for almost 30 mins without saying a word. When they were finished they looked at the results and JoongKi held out his hand

“You owe me” he said, Jin Goo sighed and took out his money and handed it to Jin Goo

“Aigoo~! why would you even bet against a guy like me?” JoongKi jokingly said. They both gathered their things as they decided to go around the training area. While going around, his phone suddenly rang, he looked at the screen and smiled

“Hello” 

“Hello” Hye Kyo said on the other line, it was lunch time

“You miss me already?” Joong Ki teased

“Aigoo~! so full of yourself” she replied, a few moments of silence went by

“Soo…why are you calling?” Joong Ki said as he broke the awkward silence

“I just……I just wanted to talk to someone” 

“You could’ve talked to your friends there right?” 

“I just… I just wanted to talk to you, and thank you again for last night” she said. Joong Ki smiled as he gestured Jin Goo to go ahead of him

“Have you eaten?” he asked

“What?”

“I said have you eaten? It’s something you forget most of the time so I feel worried”

“Yes I have eaten, thank you for the concern” Hye Kyo replied. 

“So do you have anything to do today?” Joong Ki asked, Hye Kyo looked at the clock as it read 12:45

“I have a scheduled operation at 1, it will last for about 7 hours” she replied

“Wow, that’s a long time, How about tomorrow?”

“I’m free tomorrow” she replied. Another awkward silence came 

“Umm…why do you ask?” Hye Kyo asked
