„Today’s train is so full, I feel like this is the worst day ever.

But I see him.

Yunho is a young college student at Seoul National University. Summer vacation is over and he has to move back to his dormitory at Gwanak-gu, a south borough of Seoul. The young man attends the College of Business Administration, one of the 16 colleges at SNU. To be honest, he is not very motivated to go back to his usual college life. Yunho wants some action. He has been too much into studying and he forgot about enjoying his life. Yeah, he definitely wants to change this boring life of his. He is getting ready, taking a cold shower to wake up. Jihye, his sister, is entering his room without permission. These two are really close, not just siblings but really good friends, so there is no need for her to ask for his allowance.

“Hyung, I put your clothes on your bed! Ironed them neatly for you!”

She is drawing open the curtains and glancing outside into the misty view of their hometown, tilting her head and sighing.

“I will be off for college now! Stay healthy and be careful at the campus.”

Jihye attends the College of Nursing at Yonsei University in Seoul, a private one. Yunho is leaving the shower with a white robe and stepping up to his sister, patting her head.

“Thanks for being so helpful.”

Jihye is smiling all brightly, nodding cutely and then sadly adding that she will miss him during the semester. Actually they could visit each other, since both will be in the capital, but during their college lives the two siblings tend to avoid each other, so they could enjoy their meeting when the semester is over a lot. This way they will have so much more to tell each other.

After some time Jihye is leaving his room and focusing on her own.

Yunho changes into his clean clothes, a white shirt and blue jeans. He is brushing his brown hair and putting on some lotion to his face. Because the weather is really cold these days, he is also putting on a blue hooded jacket. On the way outside, he notices a letter from his mother. She wrote some important notes for Jihye and Yunho. It is a praising letter and prayers for her two beloved grown kids. While reading her words, the student is smiling silently, then pressing a soft kiss on the letter and putting it back on the chest of drawers. Lastly he is grabbing his suitcase, backpack and the keys and leaving for good.

The young man takes the railway from Gwangju to Gwanak-gu, a ride worth about 2 hours. The compartment is crowded with countless people. So many students are on their ways to their dormitories and young pupils on their ways to school, older men and women on their way to work. Most of them look tired and disinterested in their activities. Well, that is how life is. Unfortunately.

Yunho is giving up his seat for an older woman. Others are pushing him and nearly squeezing him to death. That is how much it is filled with people.

At a near destination to Gongju the train stops again. Many of the passengers leave, but around the same amount enter too. Yunho knows nearly every single face. It is always the same people.

“Ugh… I really hate this… What a bad day.”

He is holding tight to a handle as passengers try to push him further back to grab his place. Then someone that the student has never seen before is entering the same compartment as him. A beautiful young man, bright brown colored hair and big brown eyes is standing some steps away from Yunho. The beauty mark beneath his eye gives him a special attraction. He is staring at his phone and probably checking his SNS. Yunho cannot help but stare at him. His eyes are locked on this beautiful creation of human. No, he cannot be a simple human.

“Ex… Excuse me!”

Yunho is trying to push through the crowd and reach to the stranger. He needs to know his name. He needs to know him right away. This person moved Yunho’s heart, and this did not happen for several years now. Is it love at first sight?

The bright haired beauty is turning away and talking into his phone, probably to his girlfriend. Such fineness cannot be single. Yunho finally pushes through and unintentionally bumps into the other guy, making him drop his phone.

“Uh!”

He is trying to grab his phone, but unluckily he is not able to do so. Yunho is hissing then bowing deep and picking up the expensive device, handing it back to the beautiful person.

“I am sorry. Here.”

The bright haired man is looking at him baffled, then coming back to his senses and taking his phone out of the flawless hands of Yunho. The student has slim and long fingers. Raw fingernails and clean skin, but the other one, as beautiful he is, his fingers are chubby. Not beautiful but cute in a way.

“I am Jung Yunho.”

The introduction is a little bit sudden, but Yunho needs to know this person’s name too. He wants to be friends with him. Just friends? No, he knows his heart wants more. Yunho wants this beauty to become his.

“So… handsome… Uhm… I… I need to call my friend…”

The beautiful one is stuttering, being kinda nervous a lot. He is turning away abruptly, shaking his head and calling someone.

“Oh, Changmin-ah… I am close to Gwanak… No no, just lost my phone for a moment… Huh? Oh… See you there!”

Yunho is suddenly becoming all jealous over this so called Changmin. Who is this guy to be called by this beauty?

“Mmh, sorry… I had to phone him. Nice to meet you… Jung Yunho! I am Kim Jaejoong.”

The time when the latter said out loud Yunho’s name, he badly fell in love with him. Yeah, the student is definitely in love. Madly. For the next half an hour they stay silent. Jaejoong focused on his phone and Yunho staring at him in love. Totally woozy.

The train stops for the last time for Yunho and Jaejoong. They are leaving together with a bunch of other passengers. Jaejoong is looking around, he seems like he is searching for someone. Yunho does not want to leave him right now. He still needs to know more about him.

“Are you a college student at Seoul National University?”

This question is catching Jaejoong’s attention, as he turns around and faces Yunho again. The beautiful person is nodding a little bit insecure and again dialing a number.

“Changmin-ah! Where are you? I arrived. Huh?! But… I do not know how to get there by foot! You are mean!”

He is then hanging up all angrily and disappointed, putting away his phone and crossing his arms with a sulky expression. He seems like a little angered kid.

“I cannot believe he ditched me.”

“I am a student there… If you do not mind… Join me on my way to the campus.”

Jaejoong is showing him a beaming smile, all happily and relieved he is nodding. Grabbing both of Yunho’s cold hands and shaking them up and down crazily. The hands of the beautiful student are warm and soft. His touch makes Yunho’s heart skip a beat. He is gulping heavily, his hands are becoming sweaty, thus he pulls them back with a sheepish grin. Jaejoong keeps on smiling at him.

They are walking the whole way to the campus. Jaejoong is telling him about being new to SNU, attending College of Law. Luckily his best friend Park Yoochun is there, so he will not feel lonely and Changmin is here too. He is also adding that he feels happy that he got to know the other student on their ride here. Jaejoong gives him a reason to enjoy this semester. Yunho’s heart is still beating hella fast. Walking beside this perfect young man is just inexpressible. Yeah, it is not to be overlooked. Yunho is head over love. He wants to tell him that he fell in love with him at first sight. Some passersby are staring at the two of them. It is not just Jaejoong, but also Yunho who drives attention. They are both really handsome.

“I do not want to sound pushy, but you are really beautiful. Did anyone tell you this before?”

Yunho is instantly shutting his mouth in embarrassment and closing his eyes, while turning his head away of the beautiful young man. Jaejoong is tilting his head first and thinking about it, then nodding with round eyes and pursed lips. Of course he has been told this before, probably millions of times.

“Thank you. You may have heard it before in the train… I think you are really handsome…”

He is blushing and biting his lower lip with a shy expression. Yunho’s heartbeat is rising. His pulse is pounding in his throat. The other one might notice the pulsing vein.

After another half an hour they finally arrive at the campus. Yunho’s best friend Kim Junsu is slowly walking up to them together with Park Yoochun. Jaejoong is waving at Yoochun and Yunho is surprised that Junsu knows this beautiful student’s best friend. Before the two of them stand still next to Yunho and the other one, Jaejoong is suddenly running off few steps and bumping his fist into the upper arm of another student. A tall one, whose eyes are unequal and his smile is brighter than the sun. He is laughing at Jaejoong.

“You are so mean! You did it on purpose! Did you want me to get lost huh? Changmin-ah!”

Jaejoong is sulking, while the other one is carefully reaching for his hands. Yunho is watching them few steps away and suddenly feeling really angry. He does not like it at all. He wants to be the one Jaejoong is sulking for. He wants to be the one holding his hands like this. The young student is frowning, both his fists are clenched.

Jaejoong and Changmin walk back to the other ones. They are introducing each other and laughing about the fact that Junsu and Yoochun became close friends since their first semester, while Yunho and Junsu are best friends the same as Yoochun and Jaejoong. And it happened that Jaejoong met Yunho today out of the blue. Only Changmin is unknown to all of them except Jaejoong.

“I am Shim Changmin.”

He is telling them that he is attending the College of Fine Arts.

“How do you guys know each other?”

Yunho is scared of the answer, but he is curious. Jaejoong is lowering his glance, while Changmin is putting his arm around the other one's shoulders. They seem really close. Yunho does not like it at all.

“When was it? Four years ago?”

Changmin is smiling at Jaejoong and waiting for him to answer. The beautiful young man is briefly giggling and then looking up to Yunho.

“We met in a train. I entered two stations after Changmin-ah. I was on my way to a party, when he suddenly talked to me straight away. He told me that of all the passengers I was standing out in an extreme way.”

“Originally I wanted to visit my best friend Cho Kyuhyun, but I ditched him immediately without hesitation or a guilty conscience, since I wanted to stick to Jaejoong.”

“He introduced himself and talked a lot of nonsense. I wanted him to get lost, but he followed me to the party, left the train together with me at the last destination.”

Changmin is then suddenly laughing in memories and pulling closer Jaejoong. Yunho is about to explode in jealousy. Junsu is grabbing his arm and holding him back. He always notices Yunho’s changing mood and he has been a good friend, helping him to calm down a lot throughout their friendship. Yoochun is smiling at Jaejoong. It is the first time for him to meet Changmin, but he seems to know a lot about him.

Changmin is suddenly pressing a tender kiss on Jaejoong’s soft hair, making the latter flush.

“After the party we met every day in the train except weekends, just because we knew that the other one would be on it. We have been together since then.”

His words are sharp stabbings into Yunho’s heart. All of a sudden he feels really brokenhearted and lost. Does he really have to give up his love at first sight, the person he wanted to be together?

Jaejoong is smiling at Changmin happily and that is when Yunho realizes that he cannot interfere. He cannot destroy their relationship of four years, when he only knew the beautiful young man for about one hour. He accepts that Jaejoong is not destined for him. Sadly he is lowering his gaze, thus not noticing Jaejoong’s worried expression.

“Uh… I have to hurry. Junsu where is our room?”

Everyone is kinda surprised of Yunho’s sudden urge to leave. Junsu is grabbing his own suitcase and bowing to the others, letting them know that he is glad of being friends with them now. Then he is leaving together with Yunho to the dormitory. Yoochun is following them.

“Changmin-ah… Why did you tell him that we were together?”

“He is into you. I do not like the way he is looking at you. Sorry ‘bout the kiss.”

Jaejoong is looking at Changmin in shock, feeling insecure about his thoughts. The taller one is again putting his arm around his shoulders and smiling poised at him.

“Jung Yunho told me… that I am beautiful…”

“Told you, he is into you.”

“No…”

“Ok then, you are into him.”

“No! Stop it Changmin-ah!”

"Are you into me then?"

Jaejoong keeps silent to this question. Changmin is laughing heartfully, dragging him to the dormitory and patting his back, telling him to stop denying it. Jaejoong is shyly holding his hands close to his own chest and looking up to the building. Yeah, when Yunho gave him back his phone in the train, and Yunho’s beautiful hand touched his he felt the electricity rushing through his body. Jaejoong has fallen for him by first touch.

“Let me tell you this. You guys will meet each other every day now, maybe not in the train like we did back then, but here on the campus. Your love story has just begun. But I will not give up on you either.”
