Interlude - Jungkook
Etched in EternityAfter a good meal, everyone had gone to work unpacking as much of the house as they could. It made things a little easier that Jungkook didn't have many belongings in the first place, so Jimin's dishes, art, and furniture seemed to dominate the common spaces. Somehow, that felt right to the younger man, who had spent his life in and out of so many homes he couldn't easily count them. That was the life of a military family, though, always moving wherever his father's career had called them and never quite settling down long enough to make a proper home. He'd made a habit of holding onto just a few personal effects long ago, and it was a difficult sort of thing to let go of.
As the sun started to set in the sky, Jin and Namjoon had been the first to leave, citing Sumi's bedtime as an excuse. Taehyung and Hoseok hadn't left long after, though, and without their respective best friends to provide a connection, silence had fallen between the two new roommates. Jungkook had withdrawn to his room to begin unpacking and organizing those few boxes he'd brought along, and Jimin seemed to follow suit. For hours, the only sound in the apartment was the quiet music coming from the master bedroom, and softer yet, the sound of the younger man humming along in his own room. As long as there was music, he could handle even the most uncomfortable of living situations. It was a good start, all things considered.
With a only a few boxes left, Jungkook decided to leave the moving business behind for the night. His mind was too busy with what all might come of this move. He could finally start recording and rehearsing with the band on a regular basis, which mean he could provide input. On a more personal note, though, living in the Capital meant he would be exposed to an entirely new population of people. That thought brought some strange mixture of anticipation and uneasiness to the youth. For nineteen years, he'd wondered if he had a soulmate at all. In the two and a half since he'd encountered the first mark on his body, he'd struggled to believe that he would ever actually find that one person in the world who would supposedly complete him.<
