Prologue

The Atypical Trainee [ENGLISH]

January of 2012

Choi Dongwook was walking around the streets of Seoul with a hopeless face. It was late and for sure the thermometers would marking subzero temperatures, but at that moment he didn’t care if his fingers had just turned into stalactites. For the first time throughout his successful career as an artist, he didn’t know how he would confront his boss the next day.
He adjusted his face mask just before deciding to enter inside a random pub, which at least from the outside seemed to be a bit crowded. By ironies of life, he realised that it was a karaoke. The last thing he needed was to hear anyone sing, but he didn’t want to continue wandering around the city like a banshee or worse, go home and give explanations to Han-Byul. With a long sigh and after ensuring that he went unnoticed, he barged his way through the crowd and went to the bar, also ensuring that he turned his back to the small stage of the place. He soon draw the attention of the bartender willing to drown his sorrows in alcohol the rest of the night. After a while, he began to be vaguely aware that if he kept drinking like that, the only thing that would end drowned would be himself in the Han River.

- I shouldn’t have drunk wine at dinner ... - he muttered thickly.

He noticed the face of circumstances from the bartender, who at least had the consideration or intelligence of not say anything while was serving him the fourth or fifth drink of the evening. Furthermore, it was clear that whatever was happening at that moment on the stage, was much more interesting and worthy of his attention that the self-pitying comments of a drunk.
How could you have twisted things so much in so little time? A couple days before his plans were going smoothly and as expected, and suddenly, within hours, everything had gone to hell. Although in that case, ‘hell’ had a name, and it was SM Entertainment.

- It is this the smell of the betrayal? - He complained loudly.
- I would say that this is how it smells when you do not shower in a week. - The guy who intervened on his right, pointing in turn to your left. - But the betrayal thing sounds more poetic.

He was tempted to terminate the drink in one gulp, but then began to realize that in the last minute, everyone present had swirled around the stage to enjoy what seemed to be the show of the night. Slightly intrigued, Dongwook decided to approach a little to see with their own eyes what everyone was finding so fascinating.
Three girls had the absolute control of the karaoke with a masterful interpretation of what was soon identified as "Wannabe" by the Spice Girls, the British group of the 90’s. The girls sang and danced with such ease and confident that they seemed to be so used to being on stage as himself, which was surprising but explained all the atention by the public. If those girls had any trace of shame or shyness, it was clear that night they left it at home. Also it was quite obvious that it was not the first, nor the second, nor the third time, singing that song, because their mastery of the lyrics was impeccable and they seemed to have fully assumed the role they held in the performance.
Falling faster and faster in the collective fascination, Dongwook found a better position to watch the show while the girls were negotiating the next song with the DJ. A crazy idea had begun to grown in his mind at breakneck speed.
When the first chords of "Lady Marmalade" began to play, he already had his mobile phone ready to record. There was something about them that was almost magnetic, he just couldn't look away. The one who undoubtedly seemed to take the lead in the trio, managed to do justice to the impossible chords of Christina Aguilera and he could not help but see in she a spark of what had seen before in some of his most emblematic partners and friends of the company. Suddenly, what at first had seemed crazy, now shone in his head with neon lights and phosphorescent letters. Yes, just in front of him was his lifeboat!
Silencing the inner voice that was telling him that if he wouldn't had more alcohol than blood flowing through his veins, it probably wouldn't seem such a good idea, he began to approach them while they were down off the stage. It took no more than two feet of its target to realize something that certainly was a little mishap in his new intricate plan. Now he understood why their pronunciation was so good and what was what was so striking about them.
Those girls weren't Korean.

N/A: Was that too bad? D: Translating is more difficult that I had thought at first. My english skills are too limited for my writing style in spanish, so I had to simplify it a little. Even so I hope it can be readed, I'm really concerned about that hahaha

Chapter 5: Honestly, they should be happy they have beds and not just mats on the floor.

Chapter 4: another great chapter. this is currently my favorite read.
hmm...my vote goes to possibly one secondary pairing, as long as it doesn't get tons of focus. if too many characters come in and get involved, it gets long and boring to me.

Chapter 3: I didn't think it was boring at all. It was different, which is good. I'm going to look forward to more, hope it doesn't give you too much trouble translating.

Chapter 1: Have confidence in your English skills, it was easy to read and follow. Not to mention interesting and fun. And even though I wasn't looking for them, I only stumbled on the English once, which could just as easily been a typo. Good job!
