On variety shows, on stage, or anywhere else with camera Iseok is always portraying the strong-minded and rebellious character. He is filled with confidence and charisma and doesn't need people to tell him he's handsome because he already knows it. He doesn't like being second to anybody, he's either your first choice or forget it. He hates it when people compare him to others and will express his anger freely, although when he's on camera, he can't beat the crap outta anything so he'll bite his lip to supress his anger. He is stubborn when he doesn't get what he wants and when something isn't done right, he'll have no problem correcting you. He would either push you aside and do it hisself or tell you in complete detail how it's supposed to be done. Nobody tries to defy him because most people are afraid of what he would do. He's very good at revenge and pranks, some of which are very cruel. Therefore, he has a very firm grip on the members and they listen to him well. If you ask for Iseok's opinion on anything, he'll tell you as it is without sugar coating anything, not caring how harsh the truth is. He's always honest and doesn't care if he hurts people's feelings while telling the truth. This often gets him in trouble with his peers, but hey, at least he doesn't lie. He can't lie to save his life anyways, the guilt would end up eating him inside until he tells the truth. He's overly confident - maybe even cocky - with whatever he's doing and strives for nothing less than perfection. If he fails in anything, he'll often brood over it more than he should because failing is like being defeated and Park Iseok never admits defeat. He doesn't hesitate to fight back when someone insults him or anyone close to him. His has a sharp tongue that often gets him into trouble but it's useful at times. For example, when he get's really lazy, he could talk people into doing his chores or do something else for him. You can't do the same to him, however. Iseok catches onto things easily and knows when people try to use his own tricks against him. Iseok has a softer side that most people outside the home don't see. He has a weak side for his elders (and animals), always treating them with the upmost respect the way his grandmother taught him to be. He cares for his grandmother dearly and is always sending her gifts and money. He honestly loves his friends and group mates, not just because they're able to put up with his feisty attitdue, and will do about anything to help them out. Iseok is constantly observing everything around him, down to every last detail. He's always aware when someone needs help or is feeling down and will do everything he can to cheer them up. Although, he never knows what to do when someone gets emotional around him. When someone is crying on his shoulder, he tries comforting them by awkwardly patting their back, which doesn't help at all. He's wise like his grandmother, and is good when it comes to giving out advice.

Background:
Iseok was born and raised in Bucheon as an only child. His parents left to expand their business in China when he was 4 and left him to the care of his grandmother. Not that he hated it. He loves his grandmother very much, more than the parents he rarely ever sees. Because he doesn't have any siblings, Iseok is used to getting what he wants when he wants it. Although as he was growing up, his grandmother taught him not to be so stubborn with his things and to always respect those who are older than him. While shopping in Dongdaemun with his grandmother, a Noir casting agent asked Iseok to audition. With the support from his grandmother, Iseok passed the audition and became a trainee at Noir. Iseok attended Yonsei University in Seoul, befriending foreign exchange student Lu Han. Because Iseok learnt Mandarin when he was little, it was easy to communicate with Lu Han and they became friends quickly. The day he and Lu Han went shopping in Myeongdeong and Lu Han getting scouted was the same day Iseok got chosen to take part in a 'switch' program with SME and Noir, where trainees get their companies switched. So, after training for 3 years at Noir, Iseok got switched to SM.
Training for 2 years at SM, Iseok and Lu Han were about ready to debut in the new boyband Exo, both part of the M subgroup. Iseok was going to be Exo's triple threat, dancing, rapping, and singing. He was close with all the members almost as if they were all brothers and known each other all their lives. As the day before debut came, Iseok got into a motorcycle accident going home to Bucheon to visit his grandmother. He injured his ankle, not being able to dance. Lee Sooman was very mad that Iseok ruined his boyband the day before debut, deciding to kick him out of the company and debuting Exo as a 12 member group instead of 13. Once his leg healed, Iseok got switched back to Noir and continued training there.

Trainee life: Because Iseok got scouted for his looks, he was expected not to be talented and was looked down on by the other trainees. But he worked hard to excel in everything, striving to be nothing but perfect. His coaches admired him for his dedication to his training but thought he overworked himself too much. He didn't talk to the other trainees and ignored their hate towards him, only focusing on debuting.
