ROSE / THORN JI SOORI_010
Personality traits
— +: Confident, responsible, authentic, reliable
— -: Opinionated, pompous, quick-witted, impulsive
Personality Soori comes off as an independent person, always knowing exactly what she wants and how to get it. She doesn't bother owrrying about what those around her think of her, because she's sure what people are thinking aren't wrong. Confident, fierce, y, maybe a little harsh and y. She knows that all of those words can related to her in one way or another and she's completely okay with that. Because why worry about what other people think of you when you're too busy being a boss ?
Though she can be seen as rude, it's just that people usually get intimidated by the amount of confidence she has- in the way she presents herself, how she holds her head up high as she walks, in the way that she speaks. She doesn't have trouble asking for what she wants or speaking against what she doesn't like, which could be misinterpreted by people as her being snarky or inconsiderate of other people's feelings. But she has good intentions- it isn't her fault that people are just too overly sensitive. Her words aren't sugar-coated and she likes to get to the point, which she wished everybody would do.
Passed her professional, business appearance however, her day-to-day interactions are where she stays true to her roots of caring for people and being a little too overprotective of those that she's close with. Because of her age, she often feels the need to care for those that're younger than her, helping them with whatever they need and being their voice when they're too afraid to speak up for themselves. Soori often tries to encourage those that are shy to come out of their shell, and loves to watch the chracter developoment of her friends from being too shy to ask for what they want to being able to express themselves clearly. It's something she takes pride in- helping develop character and confidence- and she can't count how mayn of her fellow trainees she's helped and watched blossom into beautiful, assertive people.
Her maturity is what usually gives her age away. She's obviously passed the age where she can get away with acting cute to get out of sticky situations, and would much prefer to talk things out with someone she has an issue with rather than keeping a petty grudge. She knows how to take and deal with criticism and will offer any kind of advice to anyone- relationship, family, training, or financial.
Though, her overconfidence can also hurt her once someone shoots down what she's been training so hard to do. She put her heart and soul into pursuing her dream as an idol, and though she knows her singing isn't the best out there, she makes up for it in her powerful raps and passionate dances. If someone tells her she isn't good enough to make it, you'll be able to tell it got her down because she wouldn't meet your eyes like normal. Instead, she'd walk with her head down and have a lot less assertiveness in her voice. She knows what rejection feelsl ike and though this weak side of her doesn't come out often, it is something she tries so hard to keep to herself. This side of her has only developed recently after trying to break through into the entertainment industry for so long, and has been caused by the stress and anxiety of trying to debut.
Background Soori was the first born of her family, and so she was given a lot of freedom growing up. Because of the family business, she was more than well-off, allowing for her to get what she wanted easily. From dance lessons to violin lessons, and the extra school lessons, she was doted on by her parents and got their support in everything that she wanted to do. Of course, that didn't mean they taught her to be spoiled. She was taught the best of manners and respect, and to this day when she tries to teach those around her, she passes down the wisdom that her parents taught to her.
Her family's restaurant was popular in the area, and every summer she and her brother worked there to help his parents and the workers out. She grew up very family oriented, and the business only brought them closer together as it brought out their team-work skills and helped develop clear communication between the four of them, which is why she could tell her parents and her brother anything. When she mentioned that she wanted to become an idol at seventeen, her parents were wary but allowed for her to audition, and after three auditions was able to join JYP. She didn't tell her family much about her training life, because she didn't want to disappoint them, and whenever they called, she would only tell about how much fun she had dancing and how good she was getting at singing rather than the strict diet she was put on or how late she had to stay up, along with trying to keep her grades up in school. She didn't tell them anything about how she had gotten kicked out of the company for a dating scandal and when she went back to Incheon for her break, she said it was because she missed being home.
She worked for her family restaurant full-time for two years, until she decided she wanted to try her hand at becoming an idol again. This time, her parents were weary and wanted her to stay at home to work for them. But of course, she used their words against them, asking why they were keeping her from pursuing her dream, and with a lot of persuading, they let her go back. As the years of training went by, they continued to grow unsure of her dream becoming a reality, and often mentioned to her that she should give up and come back home. However, she was adamant on staying in Seoul to train, telling them that if she didn't debut within ten years of training, she'll come back home to inherit the restaurant.

Family
— Parents / Ji Jinhwan and Kim Soyeon / 49 and 47 / Restaurant owners / Soori is very family oriented, and can talk to her parents about anything. They accepted her dream to become an idol, but as the years of her training prolonged, they had continously tried to talk her out of it and just work at the restaurant like she used to. They often try to tell her that they're getting old and want to guilt-trip her into coming home and inheriting the restaurant.
— Younger Brother / Ji Soohyun / 22 / University Student / Soohyun is a business school graduate student looking to expand his parents' business. Soohyun and Soori have a close relationship, especially now that they're older and can tell each other everything after a few drinks. He usually calls her up when he's having a hard time with school for motivation, and they like to motivate each other to do their best in their respective careers.
FRIENDS
— Lee Minyoung / Miss A / Soori met Minyoung when she was still under JYP, and were both in the lineup to debut together. Minyoung has helped Soori so much when they trained together, from helping with her singing and dancing, to keeping her relationship a secret for her. They remained close despite Soori leaving the company and Miss A's disbandment, and their favorite thing to do is have wine nights together, which happens at least once a week.
— Ok Taecyeon / 2pm / Soori also met Taecyeon when she was with JYP, and he helped her especially with her rapping. He was the one that introduced her to Jay, and they became very close. She shares a brother-sister relationship with him.
— Park Eun / Thorn / Soori likes to hang out with people closer to her age, and when Eun entered the company, though at a much later time than Soori, she knew she wanted to get close with her. With being new to the company, Soori wanted to help Eun out wth anything she needed and hoped to debut together with her as they grew close.

Trainee years 8 years (JYP: 2008-2010, Moon Entertainment: 2012-present)
Trainee life Soori knows she's been training for... a while. It seems as though just as she thought she was getting closer to her debuting, her expectations always fell short. She had auditioned for and got into JYP in 2008, with only dancing under her belt. She spent hours upon hours in the training rooms, learning how to write lyrics and perform them in whatever style seemed fit, whether that be in a rap or a song. She had a lot of help from those training with her, and her hard work seemed to pay off as she was put into the lineup of the next debuting girl group at the time along with all of her friends. The motivation to debut had grown stronger, causing her to practice even longer hours to ensure that her dream would come true. But as problems arose in the company, the dream that she could almost hold her in her hand had vanished right before her eyes. She left the company in 2010, and took two years off to focus on herself before trying her hand at becoming an idol again. In 2012, she began training under Moon Entertainment, which was where she started noticing everyone around her getting younger and those that were her age and trained the same number of years as her were living their dreams. But rather than letting that bring her down, she took it as motivation to practice harder and to show that even at her age, she could make it too. As the years went by at the company, her status as a debuting trainee grew uncertain. She had been with the company for six years already, and though she holds her head up high as she walks through the company building, she fears that the rumors about her are true- that she'd never be able to debut.
Scandals
— Jay Park leaves 2pm & Miss A's debut / 2009-2010 / Soori had been training with JYP for a year already when it was announced that a new girl group was scheduled to debut in 2010. Of course, she and her friends were excited at the chance of debuting together and took extra steps in her practices to ensure a spot in the debuting line up. From taking up rapping lessons from Taecyeon and extra singing lessons from Jay, it was well known that Soori had a good chance of debuting. During those extra singing lessons, Jay and Soori had become very close. He would always check up on her after his schedules, and stayed in the practice room with her when she wanted to stay up late to dance. It only took a few months for feelings to grow between them, and the two began to date in secret. Though, with the final announcements for the debuting lineup close and 2pm's fame starting to rise, the tension between them grew thick as they weren't able to spend as much time with each other as they had liked to. At the end of 2009, Jay had been caught in a scandal that had led to him going back to America on short notice. Soori didn't know what was happening at the time- why her boyfriend had left all of a sudden without telling her and it showed in the way that she dragged herself around the company building that the stress of her relationship and debuting was getting to her. It became official in early 2010 that Jay's contract had been terminated, and their relationship became known to the company after he had left by one of the trainees. She had gotten a warning by her CEO, and even through the devastation, she tried to continue her routine of practicing, though with noticeably less vigor. This severely hurt her chances of debuting- everyone knew the rules of no dating- and as the day of the announcement of the lineup came, she felt as though the whole world was against her as her name wasn't called. Her friends that she trained with for years and have comforted her through everything get picked for debut, while she just watched them live out her dreams as Miss A.

Scene requests The girls winning music awards, ofc. If possible, a scene where Soori bumps in with Jay backstage or something?
