Personality:
Quiet. Her smile talks more than she does. People who aren’t close to her assume she’s totally emotionless. People who are close to her have learned to read her eyes, which are very expressive. In general, she prefers to listen rather than to talk. She’s just as happy watching people perform as she is performing. She believes that watching and listening others’ perform makes her a stronger performer as well.
Insecure. Her main problem is confidence; she hesitates even when she wants something, which causes her a lot of regrets. She doesn’t believe in herself, and if she shows 110% during rehearsal, she only shows 90% on stage. A lot of stars are the other way around; they lose themselves on stage, but Hae Jin tends to struggle with focusing on stage, instead she becomes even more aware of people watching her when she is on stage. She gets nervous easily, whether it’s on stage or in front of a handsome guy, and she doesn’t stop being nervous until the very end. She can’t trust herself. The more she likes a person, the further away she’ll push them, because she’s afraid that she isn’t as wonderful as they think she is. She’s hesitant to give her phone number to anyone or hang out with anyone by herself. This insecurity causes her a lot of regrets and frustration.
Over-analytical. The type that drives herself crazy for no reason. She has a tendency to overthink little problems into huge mountains. She guilt-trips herself often, even when no one else has noticed her mistake. If people are even a little bit rude to her, she thinks she’s done something wrong. The only upside to being over-analytical is that this trait tends to make her organized, clean, and always prepared for the worst.
Competitive when challenged. The only reason why Hae Jin can possibly succeed as an idol and can continue to be a trainee without dropping out for so long. Insecure and over-analytical means that Hae Jin is not very charismatic or leaderlike. But just when Hae Jin seems to be a total loser, at the moment she is about to lose everything, Hae Jin manages to burst out and stand her own ground. When her spot is challenged, Hae Jin finds her focus and is able to charismatically show her talent and skill. Quiet and shy, but once she is challenged, personally or impersonally, watch out.
Honest. Hae Jin is honest, to herself and to others, almost to the point where Hae Jin is naïve. But this honesty is what allows Hae Jin to continue to run in the race to become an idol- Hae Jin herself, despite all her insecurities, knows that, in all honesty, she wants to become an idol and she KNOWS she has the skills to become an amazing performer. What is he like?: Seems like a cold ice prince, but is really a dork. Shy, respectful, always calm, doesn’t use aegyo, but still cute. His ability to laugh at himself and move on with his life, plus his overwhelming charisma is attractive to Hae Jin. When you are sad, he always comes over to you and tries to cheer you up by stealing you from practice and taking you to buy stuffed animals or by just watching you practice and cheering you on. Whether he’s happy or sad, he tries to just hide it and look cold, but it shows. When he’s sad, he blanks out a lot. When he’s angry, he becomes very cold and distant. When he’s happy, he slowly smiles and his eyes brighten. He laughs a lot when he’s happy, and looks down a lot when he’s sad. He usually goes running when he is sad or angry. He gets jealous easily and is extremely shy about skinship. :] He always pretends to forget about anniversaries, birthdays, etc., but then makes it into a big event.

And if you haven't, how will you in the future?: Hae Jin and Myungsoo are paired for a photoshoot together. Hae Jin is blown away by how handsome, respectful, and professional he is. But it doesn’t seem like he cares about her at all. Later, Hae Jin sneaks into Infinite’s line to get Myungsoo’s sign, but to Hae Jin’s surprise, Myungsoo recognizes her. The two meet from there and start to talk as friends. But once they get close, Hae Jin freaks out and pushes him away. Confused, Myungsoo doesn’t know if he should pursue her or leave her be.

What is he like?: Awkward, shy, and just as insecure as Hae Jin. Ultimately, this is his adorable side. He loves to make fun of Hae Jin, always teasing her and trying to make her blush. But D.O. is also the only one who can spot Hae Jin’s weak spots when no one else can. Although shy, D.O. is fiercely loyal and tries his absolute best to cheer up those close to him, listen to them, and make them feel better.

And if you haven't, how will you in the future?: D.O.’s stylist forgets her makeup bag in the bathroom. In the midst of the craziness, she hurriedly asks D.O. to go get it. D.O. walks in to get it, but realizes it’s the girl’s bathroom when he comes face-to-face with Hae Jin washing her hands. She freezes when she sees him and is so startled that she can’t talk. D.O. feeling responsible, returns with the makeup bag and Hae Jin and sits Hae Jin down and tries to smooth things over and make everything less awkward. XD

Personality: Girly, full of aegyo, and cute. But also extremely focused and sometimes rude when she wants something. She is fiery, gorgeous, and also loyal to her friends. She can flirt like a pro, but is never a player.

What was it like training for 10 years? (Make this original. Add in all the problems you came across, things you had to lose...etc):
Training for 10 years was brutal, especially because Hae Jin was always borderline, and constantly threatened to be dropped. It was a time of tears and crying, depression and immense frustration.
The first three years was the second most difficult time, as Hae Jin struggled to adjust from her American lifestyle to her Korean lifestyle at nine years old. She often got extremely homesick and physically got sick because of the sudden stress and change in lifestyle. Hae Jin also had an extremely difficult time making friends because she was often teased for being a foreigner.
The next five years were the easiest time. Hae Jin debuted as a model and was extremely successful. She was used to the lifestyle, had a few friends, and then fell in love with music. She picked up music extremely quickly, rising quickly to the highest ranks of being a trainee. People had so many hopes for her and she was completely famous throughout the trainees. Hae Jin learned how to live independently and although school was extremely difficult for her to pull through, Hae Jin succeeded in graduating high school and enrolling in college.
The last three years were the most difficult times. Hae Jin’s debut kept getting delayed. First, she was supposed to debut as a solo artist, but her modeling contract hadn’t ended yet so she had to give up on being a soloist. Then, Hae Jin was demoted from her top trainee group because she had been there for “too long” and she wasn’t as “fresh” anymore, according to the evaluators. They said she had come to a standstill and wasn’t getting any better. Hae Jin was almost dropped at the end of eight years. Extremely nervous and depressed, Hae Jin threw herself into working harder and improved once more. Hae Jin was supposed to debut in f(x) instead of Krystal, but she had pushed herself so much she ended up in the hospital for overworking her body. The president pulled her out of the group last minute, saying she didn’t know how to balance herself and that if she couldn’t deal with stress, she should go home.
Hae Jin was about to pack up and go home after nine years when she overheard her mother calling the President. She overheard her mother beg to the President to please let my daughter stay. Her mother was crying. Determined to stay, Hae Jin spent a year getting herself back into shape and focused on her vocals, trying to make herself the best of the best in one thing, rather than being “OK” in everything. Still, she was nearly dropped for “lack of confidence and charisma” after three months. Hae Jin struggled with still believing in herself at this point in her trainee career, she just felt like everything she did was pointless and that she was stuck in this long, endless hell.
Hae Jin had a breakthrough a month before ten years because: 1. She got to compose with Tablo from YG. His guidance, stories, and advice helped her to gain confidence in herself. 2. Her sister called her to about becoming a pro volleyball player only two years after she was scouted. Pissed, Hae Jin pushed herself one last time and was accepted in XL.
How did you even get in, in the first place?: Hae Jin, on a family vacation, was scouted for her looks by SM (for modeling). She passed the musical part simply by singing and dancing the “Three Little Bears” song. XD (No one thought she would become a kpop idol.)

Why is it your persona?: White is the fundamental color (the color that exists before anything and is there when everything is erased) <- the process that Hae Jin went through for ten years was constantly building and ripping herself down. White is always the most honest, but also the brightest color out there. Crown because Hae Jin is in XL, thus meaning she is a master, a queen, in the arts (dance, vocals, etc.)
