Jae Lyn has two piercings. One ear cartilage piercing and the normal ear piercing. She usually keeps it simple and wears different colored crystals in each of the piercings. But she’s called “Jewel” for a reason. She has fantastic jewelry that she often wears that’s nearly obnoxious.

As is a trait with any bad girl, Jae Lyn has her seductive side and is very alluring. She’s the kind of girl that draws people in, not because she’s talkative and not because she’s extremely open, but because she has that mysterious charm while still being confident. She always has that “you-don’t-know-me-but-you-want-to” confidence and it convinces people that they want her. She’s always surrounded by girlfriends and boyfriends that are curious about her wealth, beauty, and reputation. In truth, not a lot of people know she’s the Executive Director’s daughter. It’s a rumor, but Jae Lyn’s never confirmed nor denied it and it makes people try to become closer to her to get to know what everybody else doesn’t have access to.

Jae Lyn is also independent because although her mother and grandmother were there for her at certain times, the only person who has been there for her all the time is herself. She knows how to be responsible- she knows how much drinking is too much drinking and how much partying is too much partying, she also knows when y and classy becomes ty. She’s also rather apathetic and independent in the sense that she has no interest in what people do if they aren’t involved with her. As long as she has the man she wants when she wants him, she doesn’t care what girls date him afterwards. However, if she’s competing with another girl to get a guy, she becomes extremely competitive. She can’t stand to lose to anyone, dignity and pride are two of the most important things to her. Her competitiveness is the “tough” side of her, because otherwise, she is very feminine, except she doesn’t use aegyo at all. Why use aegyo when you can be seductive, right?

She’s impatient, fast-paced, and short-tempered. She lives the high and glamorous life and as long as her father is paying for it, she might as well live it to the fullest. Jae Lyn knows what it’s like to live in a rural village with no Internet and barely any electricity because of when she lived with her grandmother; actually she likes that lifestyle but here in Seoul, she loves the fast life, partying twice a week with girlfriends and with a new man desiring her every single time. It makes her forget why she’s in Seoul, she just feels like she’s vacationing. But because in Seoul, this is the only life she really has control of, she gets extremely impatient and blunt with people she doesn’t like. She’s sick of people lecturing her about foolish things all the time when they don’t even know her and she can only tolerate so much. First impressions are of great importance to her, and if a man comes up to her and tries to go after her and she doesn’t like him, she doesn’t play hard-to-get, she straightforwardly and bluntly tells them to leave her alone, now. She’s good at being witty and coming up with insults and she actually has a very witty sense of humor, though she rarely needs it. She only has a few real friends. Though there are many flaws in Jae Lyn, the main negative thing I see about Jae Lyn is that though she thinks it’s unfair that she is always judged and stereotyped superficially for being “rich” and “the CEO’s daughter”, she’s hypocritical because she also judges people based on their first impressions. Hopefully this particularly “one night stand” will make her realize this.

Though Jae Lyn is aware of the fact that having one night stands isn’t “proper”, Jae Lyn is also done with being “proper”, she had enough of that in high school and college, which she finished at age 22. Though Jae Lyn really just wants to go back to her bedroom with teddy bears and books and her mother’s paintings back in her grandmother’s house, in Seoul, a bad girl is what Jae Lyn is.  In fact, she’s proud of being a “one night stand”, it makes her feel like the carefree, drifting soul that her mother was and leaving a man after one night makes her feel like she’s her mother’s daughter in heart.

3. She’s only had one real relationship with a rather nerdy guy her first year of college. She didn’t have her first kiss until her second year of college.

4. She has a photographic memory. If she sees someone’s face once, she won’t forget it.

5. She secretly always wears the cross necklace her father gave her when she was two. Though she keeps it on a long chain that’s often hidden in her clothes, she can’t bring herself not to wear it.  

6. She was a magazine model for Elle’s “Guess” photo shoot once, but was never able to develop as a model because she was considered “too short” and “not skinny enough”. Her reaction was to say “ it, I have better things to do” and left them.

background: 
Shin Jae Lyn was born in Seoul, South Korea to two happy parents, Shin Tae Kyung and Shin Eun Hye. Her father was constantly working, but Jae Lyn grew up with her mother and she was fine with that.  As Jae Lyn grew older and matured into high school, she began to realize that she was always pressured by her parents to look beautiful, excel in arts, academics, and sports, and always be mannered, and never cause trouble and that everyone expected her to always be perfect. She was so young that she didn’t understand the responsibilities that came with being the daughter of the head of a company, all she knew was that because of a father she barely knew and a company that was worthless to her, she had to be different from other kids. She had a very lonely childhood experience, making only a few real friends. Then, in her junior year of high school, her mother and father divorced due to her mother discovering her father’s affair with an office worker. Her mother left for America and Jae Lyn’s father sent her to her grandmother in Daegu.  

In Daegu with her grandmother, Jae Lyn was able to grow up like a fairly normal child, running around in dust and falling in love with animals. However, when she turned 21 years old, her father called her back to Seoul. Her father gave Jae Lyn her own apartment and sent her money weekly, but he never met her face-t0-face for three whole years. He called her once- to tell her that he would pay for everything, including college, if she would just live here close to him and keep shut about his affair. So she lives in Seoul, going to college, but she can’t just do nothing- so she makes sure to sleep around with guys- not only because it lets her forget about her situation and makes her actually feel wanted and like she has control of something, but also because she hopes people find out about her and call her a so that she can damage her father’s reputation at least this way.

Hilarious sense of humor and always encouraging. Likes people for who they are and not what they do/their reputations. | They met in elementary school and used to fight all the time, pulling each other’s hair, but as Jae Lyn grew older and started to feel the pressure of being a wealthy and high-ranked man’s daughter, the only person who would still be brave enough to argue with her with Ailee- and that’s how Jae Lyn she could trust her. They are the best of friends, whether they become beggars or the wealthiest people in the world. Ailee can be shallow for guys, but not for Jae Lyn. They truly do have a special relationship. And the other thing is, Ailee is independent. Though they hang out all the time, they aren’t afraid to go out by themselves, they have other friends, and if they happen to meet each other at all, they don’t argue over the fact that they didn’t tell each other.

Is somewhat of a playboy, but too friendly and funny to hate. | They had their eye on each other for quite a while before he finally brought her up and taught her to DJ. He did that thing where he stood behind her and put his hands over hers to guide her through the steps. He was a one-night stand, but he took it so coolly that they became friends. He always plays her requests and enjoys watching her on the dance floor though they are now too close to be comfortable with .
CN Blue’s Yonghwa | 23 | Father’s Assistant | Jokes around a lot, but you can’t tell if he’s joking or not. Slightly dorky, but can also be very serious, caring, and handsome. | Like an older brother to Jae Lyn. Basically Yonghwa is Jae Lyn’s Father’s secretary and often carries messages to Jae Lyn like “Remember not to talk about your mother in public.” Or “The rent has been paid.” Although Jae Lyn initially hated Yonghwa because it meant her father wasn’t coming, Yonghwa started bringing flowers and food to make her feel better (and so she would open the door for him and pick up his calls). They are now friends, like siblings, who care for each other and pull pranks on each other all the time. Yonghwa has also protected her before, from a group of men trying to take advantage of her.

personality:  Jung Yunho is an honest and naïve man who speaks his mind and is always confident he knows what he wants. Intelligent and studious, but also extremely bright and childish in his normal state. He prefers to be happy and tries to find something positive in everything; a hard-working optimist. He tries to see the best in people and is very open-minded and non-judgmental. However, he won’t take crap from anyone. He doesn’t tolerate dishonesty, unethical, and dirty behavior. He never forgives anyone if they break their promise for something serious. For example, if he meets a girl who seems to promise a relationship and she just uses him for a one-night stand, he will become outright angry and stern and he’ll ignore her if he ever sees her again. So initially like a bubbly child, but extremely manly and straightforward when it comes to it. He’s happy and he’s quite easy to persuade and take advantage of since he believes in the best of everybody, but that doesn’t mean he’s foolish or forgiving.

Slightly self-centered but again, when he cares for people, he truly does accept and protect them. His smirk is to die for, but he rarely ever shows up. It only happens if he’s very pleased or if he’s extremely hurt, confused, and angry and he’s being sarcastic. Sarcasm is the way he portrays his emotions.

relationship: Jae Lyn approaches him first and offers to show him all around the hotel. They start off with no ual intimacy, but as Jae Lyn keeps leaning over balconies and smiling at him, Yunho can’t help but feel… well, he is a man. He is grateful to her for showing her around but is primarily focused on business, but that all changes into something else when they fall into the pool together and Jae Lyn’s body is… yeah. Anyways, Jae Lyn leads them to a V.I.P. room where they do their thing. When Jae Lyn tries to sneak away early in the morning, Yunho is extremely angry and feels betrayed, asking her how she can feel any happiness when she’s constantly taking advantage of people. Jae Lyn pretends to ignore him, but in reality, and she’s not sure why, but his words catch at her heart. She bumps into Yunho again when she visits the Grand and though they make eye contact, Yunho is still clearly angry and avoids her. She pretends like it doesn’t matter, but… she’s worried he’ll leave to where he came from before she is able to make amends…. 
first meet: Jae Lyn first notices Jung Yunho chatting with a group of businessmen at a shopping mall. When a little kid falls, he helps the kid up and pats the kid on the head. When Yunho finally looks up and sees Jae Lyn, she throws him a smirk and walks away, leaving him confused. Later, when she goes clubbing, her friends tell her a new hunk is in town, and apparently, he’s smart and rich. As one of the best negotiators in the business world, he’s come to the Grand to check out the place and maybe offer them a contract on hotel design as the grand is constantly renovated to always be fresh and innovative. Jae Lyn glances over her shoulder, expecting some old man in his fifties- and sees Jung Yunho again. Jae Lyn approaches him at the bar, which Yunho is checking out in terms of design and customer service and Jae Lyn offers to show him around the place as she happens to have access to pretty much all the rooms. Well, in one of the V.I.P. rooms… the one night stand happens.

the prey bait. — She parties only at exclusive clubs and at parties held at fabulous places like the Grand. She doesn’t go to underground places unless her friends beg her to. She usually finds her temporary beaus on the dance floor or at street races, through her friends, and actually, she finds a lot of temporary beaus with wealth and class from her father’s company- not the workers, of course, her father would kill her, but inspiring prospects or temporary interns. Sometimes she’ll just see a man and want him and he could be a waiter at a restaurant, an athletic at the gym, a student at the library… he just has to have a special quality to him- whether he plays hard to get, is filthy rich and hot, or gentle and kind.
something about you. — For Jae Lyn, Yunho is the first person who actually tries to hold on to her when she leaves… the first person to care about her enough to feel emotions over her and the first person who considers promises as precious and important as Jae Lyn does. And he’s the first person who’s brave enough to just admit their feelings and says what’s in their heart with ease. Jae Lyn, who hides so many emotions inside of herself, immediately admires that. Plus the fact that he gets angry shows that he’s smart enough and has enough self-respect to know not to be used. Someone finally trusted Jae Lyn, and she threw it away. It wasn’t really until after he caught her dressing to leave in the morning and grabbed her before she left and became angry and left first that she knew this was something different, that special “spark” for him.
And even though they were intimate and passionate, he was so careful and gentle with her compared to other guys who just threw her around for , it made her think that maybe he was different from the very start.
other people. — She remembers her first of course- because that was with her one and only boyfriend, Infinite’s Myungsoo in his bed, who she dated for four years. Yeah, in four years, they only had once, at the very end. They were both students at Seoul University, and he was the quiet and nerdy boy with glasses and messy hair. But he had that special quality, a killer smirk, and a patient personality. Jae Lyn broke up with him because she started to become afraid of how seriously he felt for her and she couldn’t even consider settling down and marrying yet. She still doesn’t know if she regrets breaking up with him to this day, but they’ve both moved on and are just good friends now.
More casual one-night stands involve the cute and extremely dorky DJ at the Grand, CN Blue’s Lee Jonghyun, who taught her the basics of DJ-ing. The best street racer in Seoul, Jae Lyn’s most frequent competitor, and older man, Bi Rain. An inspiring prospect named 2pm’s Ok Taecyeon at her father’s company who had that sensual “intelligent but hot” vibe going on. A waiter with a slight Daegu accent and a blush at the Italian restruant a few blocks down from the Grand named DBSK’s Changmin, and also the first and only girl that Jae Lyn ever seduced, a fellow university student who was known as a complete prude but who Jae Lyn sees dancing wildly at the club named Shin Se Kyung.    

comments/suggestions: I feel like my relationship/ first meet section is too controlling the storyline, so feel free to disregard anything I said. I guess it was just too hard to summarize their relationship since it changes so dramatically throughout each part of the story. Another thing I wanted to make clear is that her background is something that she rarely thinks about, it just explains why she does one night stands. She isn’t really sad over it, it makes her angry when she has to think about it, but she really doesn’t. I mean, her mother and grandmother still love her and she couldn’t give a care about her father most of the time, so that’s just that. =]

Grand should definitely have an indoor partying area with a DJ stage and a high-class bar, and although it isn’t necessarily for my plotline, you should have glass elevators for the elevators so that the love interests could glimpse each other throw the glass as they pass floors, or do something interest with the elevator races. ^^ Just a suggestion.
Grand should have a casino, but also a stuffed animal shop. <3 Haha, now I’m just getting crazy.
