Personality:
Overanalytical. The type that drives herself crazy for no reason. She has a tendency to overthink little problems into huge mountains. She guilt-trips herself often, even when no one else has noticed her mistake. If people are even a little bit rude to her, she thinks she’s done something wrong. If a boy she likes happens to greet another girl and accidently ignores her, she will go over the top with trying to compare herself to the other girl. She’s judgmental of herself and it can be annoying when she constantly looking down on herself. The only upside to being over-analytical is that this trait tends to make her organized, clean, and dependable.
Passionate. When she eats, she eats like there is no tomorrow. When she exercises, she exercises like there is no tomorrow. When she has to get up at 5am, she will be up at 4:30am. When it is a day off, she won’t be available until at least 2pm. Part of it is because she loves her life, the other part is because she wants to make up for her grandfather’s support and parents’ disappointment by making the best out of the life she has. She doesn’t force others to do the same, but she expects herself to make the best of everything she can.
Competitive. As much as she is passionate, she is also determined to be the best. She loves the adrenaline of competition, and loves the spirit that comes with winning even more. Background:
Jae Lyn was born in Daegu, South Korea on December 12th. She was raised by her parents, who were very intelligent, loving, and high-achieving parents. She lived a very normal life in Daegu; speaking in saturi and inspired by her parents to study very hard. Then, her parents decided to move to San Francisco to help out her grandparents, who were beginning to get aged and could use financial as well as physical support. Since family was always the priority, they packed up and went. In America, where Jae Lyn was required to take two years of arts, she took photography and choir. She absolutely fell in love with choir. She began to spend hours training by herself and meeting the teacher afterschool for private lessons. Although her parents encouraged her love of music, when they realized she was serious about a career in music, they were besides themselves. They asked her why she was going to pursue something she was disadvantaged at, versus studying, which she excelled at and was diligent about. They told her all kinds of things, upset, and refused to pay for any musical lessons. It was Jae Lyn’s grandfather, who secretly took her to and paid for her dance, vocal, and modeling lessons. And then, at age seventeen, Jae Lyn was scouted as a model by Cube Entertainment when she visited Korea during her winter break. While scouted as a model, Jae Lyn seized the opportunity and also auditioned as a vocalist and dancer. She was accepted and became a trainee who trained in San Francisco during school time and South Korea during breaks. Her parents eventually accepted her determination. Her grandmother was thrilled, and her grandfather doted on her like a princess, so proud of her.

Extremely strong-headed and always thinks before he acts. Passionate, throws his whole body, soul, and mind into whatever he is doing at the time. If he feels like it’s a lucky day, he’ll skive off practice and kidnap Jae Lyn and go to an amusement park or go eat food. He loves sports and anything physical. Like a kid, he really gets into video games. Trusts his instincts more than his reasons. Jae Lyn is over analytical and also they both argue quite a bit because of their clashing personalities; Jae Lyn makes Yunho calm down and think a bit while Yunho teaches Jae Lyn when to just stop stressing and focus on the moment and enjoy things. The negative side to his tendency to act first is that it often gathers attention from the crowd and has the potential to cause scandals, he often gets hurt physically, and he gets angry extremely easily. He has quite a temper.
However, he is extremely loyal and will take responsibility as a leader whenever he knows he should. He never breaks a promise, forgets a birthday or an anniversary. No matter how sick he is, he will hide his sickness and practice until he drops and he never misses a concert if he can help it. How you act around one another: Best friends, but awkward. They had always talked about each other’s relationships as best friends, but now that they like each other, they both feel like the other knows too many weaknesses about them and would definitely reject them if either were to propose dating. However, extreme jealously gets in the way of being best friends, especially as they are both idols constantly surrounded by beautiful people. Trainee Life:
Training for 6 years was brutal, especially because Jae Lyn was always borderline, and constantly threatened to be dropped. It was a time of tears and crying, depression and immense frustration.
The first year was the second most difficult time, as Jae Lyn struggled to adjust from her American lifestyle to her Korean lifestyle. She often got extremely homesick and physically got sick because of the sudden stress and change in lifestyle. Jae Lyn also had an extremely difficult time making friends because she was often teased for being a foreigner.
The next two years were the easiest time. Jae Lyn debuted as a model and was extremely successful. She was used to the lifestyle, had a few friends, and then fell in love with music. She picked up music extremely quickly, rising quickly to the highest ranks of being a trainee. People had so many hopes for her and she was completely famous throughout the trainees. Jae Lyn learned how to live independently and although school was extremely difficult for her to pull through, Jae Lyn succeeded in graduating high school and enrolling in college.
The last two years were the most difficult times. Jae Lyn’s debut kept getting delayed. First, she was supposed to debut as a solo artist, but her modeling contract hadn’t ended yet so she had to give up on being a soloist. Then, Jae Lyn was demoted from her top trainee group because she had been there for “too long” and she wasn’t as “fresh” anymore, according to the evaluators. They said she had come to a standstill and wasn’t getting any better. Jae Lyn was almost dropped at the end of five years. Extremely nervous and depressed, Jae Lyn threw herself into working harder and improved once more. Jae Lyn was supposed to debut in 4min. instead of Gayoon, but she had pushed herself so much she ended up in the hospital for overworking her body. The president pulled her out of the group last minute, saying she didn’t know how to balance herself and that if she couldn’t deal with stress, she should go home.
Jae Lyn was about to pack up and go home after five years when she overheard her mother calling the President. She overheard her mother beg to the President to please let my daughter stay. Her mother was crying. Determined to stay, Jae Lyn spent six months getting herself back into shape and focused on her vocals, trying to make herself the best of the best in one thing, rather than being “OK” in everything. Jae Lyn had a breakthrough a month before six years when she just stopped being overly critical of everything she did and just auditioned and practiced with her heart and for her happiness. Seeing the change, the President finally put her in KRYPTIC.

2. They go to the amusement park together. On the roller coasters, Yunho is literally like crying and Jae Lyn is laughing like crazy. In the haunted house, Yunho is laughing at how afraid Jae Lyn is and ends up piggy backing Jae Lyn through the whole thing. They fight over the cotton candy and strawberry crepes and compete harshly with the arcade games.
