More about you

Personality:
Hae Jin is extremely expressive with her feelings. She’s always the first one to cry over a sad korean drama scene and the first one to laugh at a corny joke. Even though she struggles to hide her emotions, it’s extremely obvious what she feels. Hae Jin is absolutely terrible at lying and always wears her heart on her sleeve. Thus, it’s easy for her to emotionally connect with people and the other good part of this is that it allows her to be a fantastic musician. Hae Jin has never had a problem with expressing her emotions through song or dance, or while acting or modeling. But the bad part is that Hae Jin is insecure of herself and her emotions. The fact that she wears her heart on her sleeve makes her feel childish and immature and she hates how sometimes the people around her can know what she is feeling before she does! She has a hard time dealing with emotional stress. So, when Hae Jin really likes a boy, she tends to avoid him instead of flirt with him because she doesn’t want him to see her childish and way-too-obvious liking for him, and make it awkward between the two. Also, when Hae Jin is nervous about performing, she struggles to hide it on stage. It’s a mental fight for her on stage unless she feels she’s perfected it 110%. Thus, this leads to her second trait.
She is a perfectionist. In order to convince herself that she has control of herself, her performance, and the emotions that come along with it, she practices like crazy and is extremely self-critical of herself during practice. She doesn’t require perfection with other members, but she does with herself because she’s always insecure about controlling her emotions on stage. But definitely, she needs to learn to let loose on stage. For example, her natural vocals are actually power vocals (like Ailee or Hyorin) but she holds back too much (so she sounds more like Secret’s Ji Eun or T-ara’s Jiyeon). It’s the same way with dance.
Another personality trait is that she loves to be girly and tomboyish at the same time. Her favorite look is the rocker look- she loves the smokey eye look and the ragged jeans and she admires the people who are rockers- she admires their ability to transfer 100% of themselves into the song and still get the audience super excited. And Hae Jin loves break dancing and popping, probably more than girl dances with y waves- she loves the power of it. But at the same time, Hae Jin is absolutely terrified of bugs, loves to fangirl, cry over Korean dramas, and owns way too many stuffed animals.
Hae Jin loves to listen. Sometimes, Hae Jin is happier watching others perform than performing herself. She loves to listen to music, to people’s stories, to read, to watch korean dramas. Something about her finds it wonderful to listen. She prefers to listen than to talk most of the time. She loves to laugh and cry, but she doesn’t like to make people cry and she rarely ever tells jokes. She’s a bit shy, and isn’t someone who will go introduce herself first. She has to be approached first.
A little passive, a little emotionally weak, and easy to manipulate. But ultimately someone with a very kind, graceful, and nonjudgmental heart, Hae Jin loves to live her life, but often is afraid that she is not fully living her life. She wants to live in the moment, rather than constantly worrying. She’s easy to befriend, but because she rarely seems to have her own opinions and doesn’t really talk about herself, people find it hard to access her heart, and thus, she rarely has any close friends.

Background:
Hae Jin lives in a family of three boys, and as for her memory, it’s always been that way. Since she was born, her grandfather has spoiled her relentlessly, taking her to many fun places and buying the cutest things.  Her father has always been extremely loving to her, never complaining about taking care of her by himself, always supportive of her dreams. Unlike a lot of parents, when Hae Jin announced she wanted to become a musician/idol, her father supported her 100%. He never was too tired to talk to Hae Jin about her life, teasing her about boys she liked and teaching her cool things, like how to play guitar. Hae Jin’s older brother and Hae Jin have always had a fantastic relationship as well. Hae Jin loves to steal his shirts and Hae Jin’s brother will always be there to tease Hae Jin when she cries over a korean drama.
Hae Jin was born in Busan, South Korea. She lived there with her family of men for eight years, where she grew up speaking Saturi dialect and dressed as a boy, following her brother around. At this time, Hae Jin would ask her father about her mother, and he would respond by telling her different stories- she was an aspiring actress, she was a traveling photographer, she was…And Hae Jin grew to love stories. Her brother introduced her to hip hop and dance at a very early age, as her brother was six years older than her. Thus, when Hae Jin was seven, he was thirteen and very much into break dance and hip hop. Then, at age eight, Hae Jin’s father had to move the whole family to San Francisco, because he was a marketing agent, and required to move to San Francisco to establish a new branch of the company there. At San Francisco, Hae Jin was enrolled in San Francisco’s Public Middle School, where she learned to speak fluent English. In San Francisco, she met a lot of friends who were into fashion and music, and although Hae Jin planned to major in English at the time, she grew to love fashion and joined choir. Her brother was into street dancing at the time, so she and her friends often stopped by to watch. Hae Jin’s father, at this time, taught her guitar and taught her Korean songs, because he was afraid she would lose her Korean speaking. Then, after Hae Jin’s father had successfully launched a company in San Francisco, he was asked to come back to South Korea and become Vice President of the entire company in Seoul. He complied, and the whole family moved back to Seoul, except for Hae Jin’s brother, who enrolled in San Francisco Academy of Arts as a dance major. At Seoul, Hae Jin was enrolled into Seoul High School Academy of Arts, under which she planned to study Literature and Drama. As complementary classes, Hae Jin took Choir and Ballet. Her choir teacher found her to be gifted with a powerful voice and Hae Jin took a liking to ballet. When revealed to her music teachers that Hae Jin already played guitar and knew the basics of break dancing and hip hop, her teachers asked her to transfer to music classes. Hae Jin thought about this quite a lot, and finally, after a lot of thinking, agreed. She enrolled in Music Composition, Choir, Ballet Dance, Hip Hop Dance, etc., etc. When she was 14, she entered a National Statewide Poetry Contest and placed 1st place. She also joined a break-dance group, which made it to Semifinals in National Breakdance Competition. Finally, she won a Karaoke Ballad Contest at age 15, and at her teacher’s urging, auditioned for SM at weekly auditions. She placed 7th out of 2,000 people, and SM took her in as a trainee. AS a trainee, it was difficult for her because she was so shy, and not as charismatic as lot of kids. She earned a lot of respect from her sunbaenims eventually, but at some point, she became sick and tired of the competitiveness, homesick, and nearly dropped out. She actually debuted as an actress first.

Siblings.

Name: Kim Sung Hyun
Age: 25
Relation to character: Older Brother
Personality: A very fun guy who loves to live life. Never regrets a moment and is very adventurous. Sometimes a little too reckless, and not academically intelligent. But a charismatic individual who is a natural-born leader and entertainer.
How do they get along?: Very well. A teasing, but encouraging brother-sister relationship. He is someone Hae Jin looks up to, not that she would ever admit that, and he inspires her to take control of her own actions and be fearless.

Best friend. (Can be an idol. From SME only. 1 only.)

Name: D.O. from Exo
Age: 18
Personality: Slightly awkward, shy, over thoughtful, and also a listener rather than a talker. The kind of guy who studies so much he falls asleep during tests. XD
How do they get along?: Since both of them are so awkward, their silences are comfortable and make them laugh rather than being super awkward. They are so alike, that they don’t have to say anything to talk to each other, or comfort each other. They watch out for each other and are fans of each other’s’ voices. :]

Friends.(Can be an idol. From SME only. 3 only.)

Name: Heechul from Super Junior
Age: 28
Personality: Hilarious; he loves to joke around. Extremely honest, sometimes to the point where he’s too honest.
How do they get along?: He knows how to make her laugh, and his fake-arrogance (I’m so pretty~) makes her laugh so easily. But some days, Hae Jin can’t stand how frank and insensitive he is.

Name: BoA
Age: 25
Personality: Very kind, but fierce when she needs to be. She gets angry when Hae Jin holds back, and encourages her to work harder and learn to give it her all when it comes to boys and stage. Also a fashionista.
How do they get along?: Hae Jin’s nickname for BoA is “Mom”. BoA educates Hae Jin in everything- fashion, performance, boys, but Hae Jin doesn’t tell her everything because she knows BoA will get pissed. BoA, who has given her all since day one, cannot stand how Hae Jin holds back. But when Hae Jin succeeds, BoA is the first one there.

Name: Jaejoong from DBSK
Age: 26
Personality: Easily angry and easily happy. Mature, but has had a rough life. Loves music with everything he has, and very responsible.
How do they get along?:  They talk to each other when things are seriously bad. Jaejoong can trust her with anything and calls her just to vent sometimes, and when Hae Jin is having trouble coping with her mother’s absence or being an idol, she talks to Jaejoong, who also does not have a mother and has had trouble with SM contracts. They often joke about getting married and running off.

Romance.(From SME only.)

Name: Jonghyun from SHINee
Age: 20
Personality: Ambitious, overprotective, and a little judgmental, stubborn. But has a great sense of humor, and is romantic. The kind of person who pretends like he forgot about his girlfriend’s birthday, but then does everything he can to make that day special.
How do they get along?: Hae Jin avoids him like the plague because she likes him. Jonghyun is very professional towards her, and usually just passes her by. (For now)
How did you meet?: Had to model together! Versed each other on Immortal Song 2.
How do you keep in touch?: They don’t, yet!
Scene requests: Where they are forced to collaborate together, and Jonghyun asks her if she hates him. She blushes, stutters out no… and tries to leave. Jonghyun just tries to be friends with her because they have to work together, but he ends up falling for her.

Rival.(From SME only.)

Name: Krystal from f(x)
Age: 17
Personality: Hard-working, but takes boys and fame for granted. Overly competitive and confident. Flirty, and can sometimes be a little arrogant.
