Personality. 

perhaps it's because she's the eldest in her family that siah has a strong sense of responsibility with her. she knows that tasks are made to be accomplished, which is why she'd often list the things she needs to do because she strives to meet her obligations. siah values their relationships to the people she's close to. you can always rely on her whenever you need her and will never back down on protecting the people she loves. she is very sociable, and tends to have a connection with most people. friends often enjoy her around and vice versa due to her warm and lovable personality.

however, no matter how nice siah could be, she is not the type to take criticisms very well. she gets easily hurt and defensive when a bad word about her is said. ironically, to protect herself from these criticism, she'd counterback by being critical of the people who has said such things to her though in general she'd be more tolerable of people. she is also said to be very serious, the type of person who cannot take a joke or is 'no fun' as kids these days would say. especially since siah is inflexible. she doesn't like breaking rules or making changes so she tends to be traditional in a way.
 

Background.

on a cold winter night, choi siah was born in the 29th of december 1994. she was the first daughter, and her younger sister choi sira was born five years afterwards. she spent her childhood at her birthplace and often played by the beach due to the fact that her family house were near the beach. her family had a supportive, tight knit relationship. her father was a sport journalist for a local newspaper while her mother owns a beauty salon.

for as long as she could remember, siah had always loved performing. whether it was at a school performance or a local contest, she wouldn't shy away from joining one whether it was to sing or dance. winning or losing didn't matter to her either, it was just the joy of being on stage that she really enjoyed. because her intense desire to perform, it was no surprise that a young teenage siah expressed her desire to become an idol. her ever suporting parents were fine with it, with the condition of her finishing high school first.

at the height of the kpop industry with the likes of big bang, snsd and super junior, siah left her hometown of ulsan to audition and successfully entering cube entertainment in 2012 when she turned eighteen. at 2016, she was added to produce 101 as contestant with other cube traineses such future clc member kwon eunbin and future gi-idle member kwon eunbin. however after failing to debut with ioi, siah left cube in 2017 after five years. she then transferred to source mucic in late 2017 but just as soon as she was settling down, her training was suddenly interrupted after a big blow.

in fear of interfering with her training, the chois had not told siah about the disease her mother had. she was diagnosed with stage four cancer and by the time siah knew about it, it was already too late. she had known about it a week just before her mother's death. she was there on her deathbed, and she will forever remember spending the last moments of her mother. devastated, siah was unable to go back to source music, eventually quitting. she spends a few months with her family back in ulsan before audition and getting accepted in box entertainment in mid 2018.

Relationships. 

father / choi dongyeon / 56 / journalist / quiet & strict / growing up, siah had always had known her father was much stricter than his wife. though she had supportive parents, siah's father dongyeon was a bit sceptical of his daughter moving to the capital so imagine how surprised siah was when he had let her go. he was very much inspired by his wife whom he adored so much. after the death of his wife, dongyeon finally and fully accepted siah's dream, even to the point of sending her encouraging messages every once in a while.

younger sister / choi sira / 21 / university student / shy & private / while she did have a close relationship with her sister, the younger choi still tends to keep everything to herself. since it was their mother who used to keep the family in check, siah worries about both her father and especially sira but she tends to keep an eye with her sister by calling her every night whenever she finishes her schedules.

co-member / go eun / 23 / idol / empathetic & sensitive / despite the younger girl's difference from the other members, siah tries to make her feel included or at least tries to be close with her. siah thought that as the oldest member, this is the least that she could do but even her finds this challenging.

co-member / kwon duri / 21 / idol / gentle & private / even though they're not really blood related, siah tends to take care of duri very well as she reminds her of sira. siah tends to help her with her struggles especially about her weight though it doesn't always work out as siah wishes it to be (like during late 2019-2020)

ex-boyfriend / jo jinho / 28 / idol / hardworking & cheerful / as she was a trainee in cube, siah is close to some idols from the company. this includes jinho whom she briefly dated for a year prior to pentagon's debut and her appearance in produce 101. they were never really serious about the relationship and were apparently just bored so there were no hard feelings when they seperated. they still talk from time to time. siah even wished jinho well before going to military.

best friend / yang hongseok / 26 / idol / enthustiastic & passionate / another pentagon member siah is close with is hongseok. in fact she's probably the closest to him out of all idol friends she has. they used to hang out and eat out a lot as trainees that it became known to some fans that they were close friends. these days they still try to meet up as much as they can and are seen interacting a lot when they're in the same stage.

close sunbae / kim hyuna / 28 / idol / affectionate & gentle / contrary to her strong and y image, hyuna is actually very approachable. when she was a trainee in cube, it was siah herself who took the courage to her sunbae whom she admires the most. til this day they still communicate despite leaving cube and going on their own ways. fans are most shocked about this friendship.

Stage Name. CeCe - wanting to completely let go of her past image in p101, siah opted for a stage name and settled with the first sylable of her first name 'si'. however she decided to spell it in english instead of hangul to also appeal to foreign fans.

Trainee Life.
in all honestly, siah found trainee very hard. being away from her family, constant dieting, the criticisms from her mentors. it was taking a toll to her. but whenever she felt like quiting, she'd think about her family especially her mother. not all trainees were blessed with the support that she got from her family. some trainees even kept their training a secret from their parents. she kept on going with the intention of making her family proud. the only time she 'quit' was when she left cube, knowing that they had no plans on debuting her.

even on her deathbed. siah's mother consistently reminded her mother to follow her dreams, which she did. despite losing her inspiration and finding it hard at first, siah pulled herself together and auditioned for box ent. even after debuting she'd still think of her mother especially whenever she'd receive a negative comment about her talent or her age.

Pre-debut.

ironically it wasn't her actual (ex)boyfriend whom she got into a scandal with but her bestfriend. the pictures were taken by cube saesangs just before pentagon's debut and after she joined pd101 and were released just when pentagon had just debuted. it made both hongseok and siah anxious and nervous but these days they just laugh about it.
