“I have no appetite ajhuma” Seohyun said when their maid told her its dinner time.

But around nine o’clock though, she felt her hunger. She was not able to eat anything since lunch. She was inside her room that whole time.

“Ajhuma, where’s omma and appa?” she asked

“Aigoo… they went to Krystal aghassi’s house for dinner. the soon to be in-laws asked them to come. And they’re not home yet. Your Jonghyun oppa has no choice but to go with his friends coz they came here earlier.”

She was about to go to the kitchen when she heard noises outside their house, playing basketball, even though it’s quiet late.

She took a peek at their window and saw her Kwangsoo oppa, playing basketball alone. She decided to go out and talk to him for a while

He stopped when he saw her. “Looking for Yonghwa?”

“Why should I?” her right eyebrow raised as she replied

“To apologize for acting immature earlier” he was spinning the ball on his index finger as they talk

She frowned “All of you are taking his side! Have you not think of the possibility that he cheated on me? Or cheated on that sugar girl?” she said in an angry tone. Kryatal went inside her room when she heard what happened and lectured her to her annoyance

“And why would I think of that? when I knew too well that it’s not true"

“Because he’s your friend?” the sarcasm in her voice palpable

“No. because ten years ago, he told me he loves you but he wouldn’t take advantage of you. Instead, he left and told me he’ll come back for you” Kwangsoo said oh so casually.

And she couldn’t believe what she heard. Yonghwa told that to her oppa?

As if confessing, he continued “I even asked him, what if he came back and you have someone else. He said, ‘that was the risk he had to take’. He said that’s how much he loves you. And I believed him, because he won’t compromise our years of friendship if he’s not serious”

She swallowed hard. She felt her world is spinning fast and her breathing shallow

She was still in a daze when he walked towards her and planted a kiss on her forehead. “Do me a favor, he’s behind you. When you talk to him, try to be calm. We couldn’t very well have an injured guest in the house, okay?” he wink at her before he left

She slowly faced Yonghwa. He was only a few steps away. He looked so sheepish. It tugged her heart. She was about to say sorry when he stopped her by raising his hand

“Before you say something, let me explain. First, about Sugar. I call her that, because that’s her name, and not some term of endearment. Her name is Sugar Kwon, her Korean name is Kwon Yuri, daughter of my uncle’s business partner. They are also Koreans but she was born and raised in Europe and migrated to the States when she was in College. She’s a close friend and that’s it”

When she remembered Sugar, her sullen mood came back. “Friend? since when did it start that friends kiss each other on the lips?” even though her heartstrings were pulled because of what her Kwangsoo oppa has said she needed to clarify that

“I did not kiss her. she kissed me and it’s only a smack. She really is like that to all her friends. Very European. There’s nothing to that”

She raised an eyebrow “And why did she come here?” her hands now on her hips

“She’s our department head and we have some projects together. When she heard my request for transfer permanently, she opted to ask if I’m sure of it. Besides that, she’s really going here in Korea for a vacation, so she decided to talk to me too” he neared her and touched her face endearingly “Do you believe me?”

The moment her anger subsides, she realized that what she did has no basis and immature. She let out a sigh before nodding “Of course, I do. I was just…”

“Jealous?”

“Yes, I was just jealous.” She scooped him into a hug “Wait a minute, so where’s Sugar or should I call her Yuri unnie?”

“Back in her hotel”

“You’re just good friends?” she asked again to make sure of it

He nodded

“Well, next time, tell her to just greet you with a ‘Hi’. She can do that smack thing to her other friends. Those who are still available and has no jealous girlfriends”

That made him chuckle “I think I don’t need to say that to her. she pretty much got the picture earlier. But if I were you, I wouldn’t give her a cold shoulder. She might be your future sister-in-law.” His eyebrows went up and down in mischief

She looked at him with a confused look on her face “What do you mean?

“Well, after you walked out on us earlier, Kwangsoo and Su… Yuri clicked. I think it was love at first sight” he laughed
