Description
From the moment he was born, Kim Jongin was told that he was different from other people, that he was a special boy destined to do great things. But Jongin could never see how his gift allowed him to accomplish anything, but pain and embarrassment.
Living in the beautiful and prosperous kingdom of Epsonia, Jongin only had two things to worry about: how to provide for his family that he loved dearly and how to keep his secret from being exposed. He was one of the few who possessed the Gift, as some people liked to refer to it, while many referred to it as a curse. A special gene in his DNA granted him the power of Sight, which allows Jongin to look into his future. But magic has been banned in the kingdom for over thirty years. Magic had been a part of what had almost led to the kingdom’s downfall; had almost led to the outbreak of what could have been a detrimental war. People feared what they didn’t understand and so citizens that were found with any ‘unnatural ability’ were to be reported and would have to pay a heavy price.
They’d pay with their lives.
For nineteen years, Jongin has done a pretty good job of keeping his secret safe. However in order to protect a friend from danger at all costs, Kim Jongin finds himself in situation where his secret is exposed and falls into the mercy of the Oh family, the rulers of Epsonia.
Encountering Oh Sehun hadn’t been a part of Jongin’s plans for the future. In fact, he didn’t want to be anywhere near the royal family. But can he escape his fate or will a bond other than hate form between the two?

Youngest son of the Oh family, otherwise known as the ruling family of Epsonia.
Unfamiliar with how to form strong friendships, Sehun lives a spoiled life where he developed a selfish attitude and a dependent attitude on the servants around him.
He dislikes the Gifted because he believes that one of them are responsible for the death of his mother.

“When you are different, people decide that they can label you as anything they want to. Monster. Curse. Weirdo. Freak. The idea of treating other people as equals is only a saying on everyone’s lips that doesn’t connect with their hearts. People are liars.”
Sehun sat inside his tent with his back turned to the canvas’s opening, away from Kai’s lingering shadow that rested outside. He never expected Kai to open up this much to him before.
“You’re pretty brazen for a commoner.”
“I’m not brazen. I’m just honest. “
“What makes you think that you’re so different? You don’t seem that special.” Sehun spoke in an even tone.
“I can’t tell you. That’s my secret to keep and it’s not for you to know. You wouldn’t even care anyway.” Jongin sighed as he fixed the blanket on the ground’s hard, wet, grassy surface. He had never slept directly on the ground before. But what type of special treatment did he expect to receive from the youngest prince of Epsonia. None whatsoever.
“What if I told you that I’m interested in what you have to say? What if there’s a chance we can become friends...” Sehun’s voice hitched.
To become friends? Sehun had never imagined those words coming from his own lips. But yet he didn’t imagine he would be in this position, either. Out alone in the woods with Kai. “Is Kai even your real name?”
“It wouldn’t make a difference.” Jongin yawned, ignoring Sehun’s second question. He could feel the pull of sleep tugging on his eyelids and he wanted to stop talking to Sehun at this point. The jerk didn’t even care and he never would. There was no reason for Kai to open himself up to someone like Oh Sehun. All he wanted to do right now is to retreat into his dreams, where he could meet his mother and fall into her embrace; where he could lie on his own bed and feel the comfort of home. “It wouldn’t make a difference because you and I are different. Different in every way possible.”
Sehun turned around and looked at the shadow of the boy lying outside of his tent.
“Am I different in the way I feel about you?”
