Foreword

I’ve crossed that bridge so many times. I’ve seen people ride their bicycles in the summer and I’ve seen the emptiness it brings in the winter. When I first came to Seoul, I spontaneously discovered the bridge. It was small and secluded from the rest of the city. There was a serenity there that calmed your worries and pushed your mind away from your troubles. You felt at ease there, like that place was only meant for you. And for the time being it was. You saw that while you were on that bridge there was peace, compassion, and serenity. Yet, as soon as you crossed to the other side the world was completely different. There was hatred, jealousy, and anger.

It was on the bridge when you met him. It was there where everything changed.
