Naeun

       APINK'S showtime was over and the girls were back to their dorm. On that day's episode of APINK's showtime, the girls went bungee jumping and Naeun couldn't go through the day without thinking about her bungee jumping date with Taemin. WGM has been over for a year now and she has succeeded in moving on or so she thought. thankfully she was going to see her family in the weekend there she can have fun and forget about him. As she laid on her bed for the night she thought about the bungee jumping date she had with him, how he squeezed her hands tightly and how she shivered  in response to his touch,"naeun-ah I will protect you",the promise he made before they jumped, his intense gaze...her thoughts ran wild. "Come to your senses  Son Naeun, it was just a show"  she thought as she snapped back to reality. They had not contacted each other since the show ended and taemin seemed fine. She had to get over him and the earlier the better for her 

      Throughout the week she looked forward to visiting her parents, she missed them so much. It was soon friday morning and she was the first to wake up. Sitting by the window and looking at the view while drinking her favourite tea, she smiled to herself " why are you so happy this morning?" Eunji said as she made her way to the kitchen to make herself a cup of tea as well. "good morning" naeun said, shifting to one side of the couch, making space to eunji to sit. "did you start packing yet or not"? Eunji said as she sat beside her. "no I will begin after breakfast" they sat in silence while drinking their tea "ah Naeun-ah is it true that the producers of WGM want you guys to get the letters you wrote to each other even though the show is over?" Eunji asked as she inched closer to Naeun. " I guess" Naeun replied pretending to be uninterested in the discussion. She didn't want to place so much importance on the topic anymore, she didn't want to raise any suspicion. It would be embarassing to do so as things have become awkward between then, he even avoids her on music shows, contradicting the promises he made to her in the final episode of the show. It was all a show afterall. 

      That evening after leaving the dorm, she headed for her parent's apartment. She was happy to be home but also nervous as she had secretly recieved taemin's letter without letting the girls know about it. She wanted to read it by herself, she was curious but at the same time scared. "I will read read it in the morning" she thought to herself as she got into bed. After tossing and turning for about 45 minutes, she couldn't take it anymore. She grabbed the envelope and tore it open and with a pounding heart she read the letter.

Naeun-ah how are you?

I know you're working hard on your upcoming album.

Hope everything is fine?

I look forward to your new album,

I wish you goodluck and good health as you go on in life

she closed the letter and stared at the ceiling, overwhelmed by its content. She tried to brush the feelings aside, and with a loud sigh she tossed the letter under her pillow,covered herself with her blanket and closed her eyes. Her eyes ached so much from holding back tears. "why am I crying?" she asked herself as tears of disappointment rolled down, soaking her pillow. She cried even more because out of embarrassment of the content of her own letter. How is she going to face him when they meet on music shows? why did she convey so much feelings in her letter? she felt stupid, She expected more, she was a fool, she missed him so much this past year it hurts. After crying for what seemed like an hour, she got out of bed and reached into her closet. In there was the teddy bear taemin had given her for christmas "merry christmas Naeun-ah, hug this bear before you go to bed, more, more, more" taemin's voice filled her room as she touched the bear. it was time to put all his gifts away, to dispose of anything that reminded her of him. She reached into her dresser and there was the rosary bracelet he gave her, his pictures were also in there. She reluctantly took all the items and put them in a separate box, with tears forming in her eyes again she put away the box. Now she has to really get over him and move on with her life.  it was the last time she was going to shed tears because of him, she promised herself as she got back in bed.

Taemin

         SHINee had just got back from Music core shooting that thursday, the boys headed to their rooms too exhausted to have dinner."Teamin-ah you got a mail" their manager called out to him just before he entered his room. He intentionally kept a straight face because he knew what mail their manager was talking about. He couldn't understand the reason why WGM producers wanted them to recieve their letters even though they've left the show, not even now that he has started to let go of Naeun. He had intentionally avoided her at music shows and awards to prevent any rumour, worst still to prevent his fans from getting at her afterall he promised to protect her. 

         Having laid down for the night,and making sure that the members are asleep he reluctantly opened the envelope. Tthe last thing he wanted was confirming minho hyung's suspicion of him having any feelings for naeun outside the show.

To Taemin Oppa;

Oppa, I don't know what to say, I'm short of words

If you're reading this one year later, I want to say thank you.

Thank you for being my first love, for making me laugh, for being there for me whenever I needed you.

It must have been frustrating for you because I wasn't good at expressing myself.

I'm hoping that with this letter I will expressmyself better.

Thanks for making my 20th year the best year of my life

I looked forward to meeting you everytime, and everytime I met you, it was like the first time

WGM might be over by the time you're reading this but I will forever remember the time we spent together on the show

these days I'm getting too flustered when I'm around you, I don't know whats happening to me...

Taemin's eyes were wide in amazement, "what could she mean by this detailed letter?" "is she really in love with me?"  questions filled his head but he doubted that Naeun was in love with him, "am I really her type?"  he disregareded the thought . Suddenly he felt extremely guilty for his shallow letter, he was only trying to play safe, he didn't want her to get wrong ideas. He worried, knowing her personality she would be upset at his letter. He wanted to speak with her, to apologize of just talk things over but its easier said than done. He was even more confused than before. what could her letter mean? He decided to call Kai. Kai would make fun of him but he was prepared, he needed answers and he needed them right away. The thought of Naeun actually having feelings for him made him a little excited and also  nervous. " yobuseyo!! ya Taemin-ah"  kai said while yawning, "dude, it's late" he continued angrily. "ya jongin-ah, mianhe, I just have a quick question"  taemin replied as he narrated his ordeal to his best friend. "why do you think she would go on and on about being flustered around you and about looking forward to meeting you?, I think she likes you for real"  said Kai, completely awake and excited after listening to taemin's story. "I want to talk to her in person, I don't want to assume things"  taemin replied sounding a little unsure  "totally! so how and when do you want to meet? this won't be easy you know. anyway we can meet up tomorrow and plan something or what do you think?"  said Kai " yes, let's meet tomorow. Goodnight" taemin replied. He knew he wouldn't be able to sleep, with Naeun's letter and face constantly flashing in his head when he closed his eyes, he knew he was going to be awake till the next morning.
