Chapter 2

High School Cinderella

Your POV

The next day when you pulled into your parking spot, you saw the boy waiting for someone at the front door with something in his hand. You decided to avoid him and used the other entrance to the school since you still didn't know who he was and wanted to avoid any awkward conversation or interactions like what had happened the day before.

While walking toward the entrance you couldn't help but dwell upon yesterday's events.

The way his gums would peek out from in between his perfect teeth when he smiled.

His hair slicked up and out of his beautiful porcelain face.

He could never like a girl like you.

An outcast. An unpopular.

Although yesterday was his first day all the girls lined up in the hallways gazing at his beauty.

And it wasn't only the girls. Some guys were glaring at him and others were trying to be his best friend.

Nonetheless it was always the same for you. Populars stuck with populars, nerds stuck with nerds, and you stuck with your book.

The bell rang and you were in your first class for the day. Your favorite class. And your most hated class. English.

Although you loved the writing aspect of the class you didn't really like reading. Thankfully luck was on your side and the teacher had nothing planned for the day and let you have a free period.

You used the period to work on your English project. Your teacher wanted you to write a story loosely based on your life. The only problem was your life was so boring that nothing really exciting ever happened.

'Well except for yesterday.' You quietly thought to yourself.

Just then the principal walked in with the boy from yesterday.

You opened up your textbook and hid your face making it look like you were studying.

"Hello class. I have brought with me a new student his name is Yifan but he prefers it when people call him Kris." The principal had Kris sit in the open seat (which just so happened to be the desk next to yours) and prepare for class.

Could my life get any weirder?

Kris POV

He noticed you hiding behind your book and couldn't help but chuckle. His laugh made you look up and then blush when he saw you.

'Look at her blush, God she's so cute.' Kris began to smile as he realized there was an open seat next to you.

The smile slowly turned into a smirk as he saw you begin to sink lower in your seat.

He couldn't believe you didn't remember him.

You were best friends since 4th grade but then he moved and they didn't really stay in touch. You stayed the same though. Nose always stuck in a book.

He however did realize that he looked pretty much nothing like he did when you and him did see each other everyday. He was much taller, his style had changed, voice deeper. But nonetheless you never changed and that made him happy.
