Chapter 5
Temporary Pain (INDEFINITE HAITUS)“What? Are you sure?”
“I saw him myself. Absolutely positive.”
“Hyung?”
“What is it Baekhyun?”
“But I don’t understand— who is this guy then?”
“He’s probably telling the truth, whoever he is.”
“I—I just..”
“It’s okay Baekhyun. He is not there and you’re going to be fine.”
“I—“
“Just take of yourself for me okay?”
“Okay…Thank you, hyung. Thank you.”
A sharp snap of fingers brought back Baekhyun’s attention as he realised he was still holding the phone to his ears.
Saturday afternoons are the busiest every week.
Hung over college kids and exhausted office workers let off their built up steam and no cure is better than some low-priced quality chinese food.
The wind had picked up some velocity as Baekhyun loaded the store-room with the last of the shipment orders, labeling them and placing the lid over.
Who is this Park Chanyeol?
“You space out a lot you know that?” Jongdae was wiping the counter with a tattered blue rag in gliding motions. Wiping the corner sill Jongdae softly held Baekhyun’s arm.
“Baek, you sure you okay?”

Baekhyun looked up and disposed a slight nod before realising that it was rude gesture and gave him a loud ‘yes sir’.

Occupying the corner booth he asks Jongdae for the usual.

His hair was blonde, pushed back and he looked like someone who knew how to groom himself.
“Technically he is the owner’s son, Huang Zitao, but don’t be fooled by his friendly demeanor.” Jongdae gave the written order to the head chef and walked out towards the counter, busying himself with the coffee machine.
“He is merciless towards his employees. I don’t know how I’m still surviving here to be honest, I’ve seen atleast five people fired in the past month if not more.” Jongdae neatly poured in the espresso shot in a black mug and covered it with foaming milk.
“And since your first impression wasn’t all that good…” Shaking out the last of foamed milk Jongdae handed him the coffee mug on a platter “…you should go serve him this.”
Baekhyun widened his eyes staring at Jongdae with a look that screamed ‘no’.
“I’m sure I’ll spill it all over his expensive dress-shirt. I don’t want to be fired on my first week of work Jongdae!”
Baekhyun needed the money for college transfer but the phone-call he’d received earlier from Umin hyung had changed everyt
