"Eomoni, I'm home!" Jongdae stomped his wet, muddy sneakers on the ground and entered the house. When he looked up, he saw a man only centimeters shorter than him leaning on the stairway, looking down at his phone. He wore a green t-shirt that had small little tree prints on it and fitted denim jeans. His hoodie was a darker shade of green, while his shoes were a dirty white color. The stranger stood casually and comfortably, not even noticing Jongdae's presence. The nerve of this guy, Jongdae thought. He scanned him up and down like a robot and analyzed every little move he made.    "Excuse me, who are you?" Jongdae finally asked. He needed to know if he had any business in the Chang household. The unfamiliar male looked up from his phone and into Jongdae's eyes. "Why is it any of your business?" Jongdae scoffed at the visitor's attitude. He was already getting on his nerves. "I'm living here right now, so I need to know who's coming into my house," he stated.    "I'm just like you then because I'm staying here too. Don't act like it's your house buddy, we're all guests here." The shorter man gave him a dirty, judgmental look. Right as Jongdae was about to make a snarkier reply, Jooeun ran down the stairs in a rush. "He's right Jongdae. Leave him alone."   "Do you know this guy, Jooeun?"   "Yeah, he's a guest at our house Jongdae. As in, do you not remember that this is also a bed and breakfast?"   That's right. He had forgotten all about their business. And now, this client was probably going to give them a horrendous review. All because of him. If he just stopped being so protective and defensive all the time, maybe this wouldn't have happened. And maybe he wouldn't have made Jooeun even more annoyed with him than she already was. She rolled her eyes at him and walked over to the visitor. "Sorry about that, Kyungsoo. I didn't think he would react that way. Anyway here it is," she handed him an expensive-looking watch, "I knew you'd come back for it."    "It's okay Jooeun. Thanks for keeping my watch." He shoved the watch in his left hoodie pocket and quickly turned to Jongdae. A hand shot out from him, a cue for a handshake. "My name is Do Kyungsoo. I work at the cafe near Jooeun's workplace, so we've known each other for a while now. I've heard a lot about you, Kim Jongdae."    "I see. I apologize for my attitude. Any friend of Jooeun's is a friend of mine." He took his hand and shook it.    "Well you're not my friend, Kim Jongdae-ssi." Kyungsoo pulled his hand away and peeked over at Jooeun. "I'm gonna go now, so see you tomorrow. Thanks again." And with that, Do Kyungsoo left the house, leaving Jongdae and Jooeun standing awkwardly, avoiding eye contact. Jooeun shook her head in frustration and went to the kitchen. The two were still affected from the soju incident to have an actual conversation.    ---   Jooeun sliced various vegetables for the guests' dinner and for her own family's dinner. During the weekends when she wasn't exhausted from educating small children, she usually helped around the family business doing little things. Whether it was preparing meals, doing laundry, scrubbing the floors, or calculating revenue, Jooeun did everything her body allowed her to do. And now she was glad that her chores could be used as an excuse to evade Jongdae. Confrontation wasn't something that bothered her yet she still felt upset with how he treated her last night. What he said was probably th

I really like the vibe this story gives off it remind me a lot of the island you envisioned. Although the chapters are quite short, the amount of detail is well-delivered.
