don't leave me
"Gook, what's happening? Tell me right now."
"...I-It's Hyung Cheol. He's telling me to tell you t-to head to the warehouse...A-And if you don't...he'll kill Taeil." Gook informed his voice shaking as his gaze were fixated on the pair of males in front of him. One of them Taeil - whom was fearing for his life - and the Hyung Cheol - who was holding Taeil in a secure lock with an arm around his neck while the other was busy holding a gun under his chin.
"P-Please, Dae Gu. You need to get here quickly. We're at the warehouse...Y-Yes, that one..." Gook swallowed thickly and hung up, his hands shaking, before slipping his phone back into his pocket. "T-There. I called Dae Gu just as you asked. Now...let my friend go." Hyung Cheol chuckled and kept his grip on Taeil, who squirmed a bit as the other took the safety off of the gun.
"Nah. Let's wait until Dae Gu gets here, nae?"
Dae Gu swore he had never ran this fast in his life. Once again, Gook was caught in a life-and-death situation involving a hostage moment. But with Taeil being the hostage, it was completely different. Taeil was very calm but even Dae Gu could tell Taeil would have no idea what to do if he was a hostage. Dae Gu could often read Taeil like a book; the boy put up one hell of a facade. Not to mention knowing that he was in the hands of a killer, he bets Taeil is thinking that Hyung Cheol will not even hesitate to kill him. So it's not like Gook nor Taeil could convince him not to. Not to mention Taeil had been stabbed quite recently and merely a few days ago was he released from the hospital. Dae Gu's worries and concerns for his friend has tripled.
He continued to run as fast as he could, ignoring the rising pain in his right foot - for he had rushed out of the apartment complex so fast, he only had one slipper on. It's not like he had the thought to slip the other one, he didn't even give to s. He thought that even if he wasted a second, one of them could be injured or worse. He had to get there as quickly as he could - no time to waste.
Bursting through the warehouse doors, he took a few steps in before stopping as heavy breathes left his lips. The dull, vibrating pain in his foot was the least of his worries. His eyes locked with Hyung Cheol, who grinned at him and folds his arms across his chest.
"So the heroine actually did come." He snickered, amused. "I didn't think it would be this easy."
"Enough with your games." Dae Gu hissed. "Where are Gook and Taeil?" Hyung Cheol perked an eyebrow and pointed to the right. Dae Gu followed where he was pointing and gasped before running over to his friends.
"." Dae Gu cursed and quickly took off his jacket. Gook was on the ground, sobbing as hard as he could, was Taeil in his arms. Taeil has a gun shot wound to the right side of his ribcage, right where his lung was. His eyes were barely open. Dae Gu pressed his jacket to the injury and looked up at Gook before he suddenly remembered something.
"Button." He murmured. Gook looked up at him and blinked in confusion before he caught on and looked down at his button-up shirt. He nodded softly in agreement before Dae Gu got to his feet and faced Hyung Cheol. Gook looked down at one of the buttons and gently pressed down on it, hearing a small beep in response (a/n: spoiler alert for those who haven't watched the drama, but remember the last episode where Dae Gu and Soo Sun were held hostage and they used that button webcam thingy? DING DING), hoping that Panseok would get the feedback. He heard Taeil grunt softly and Gook looked down at him, shaking his head no frantically.
"H-Hajima! Don't t-try to talk, you fool!" He reached up and covered Taeil's mouth. "S-Shut up..." Gook whispered and held him tighter to his chest.
"You know, this war was between me you." Dae Gu growled softly. "I don't see why you needed to drag my friends along."
Hyung Cheol chuckled. "Well, I figured that you wouldn't exactly be easy to drag out so I decided to take some bait. Ironically, the bait was right in front of me. So I bit at the chance. Not my fault, but it's theirs for making the mistake." He merely shrugged. Gook looked up with a frown.
"Shut up!" He yelled. "Who the hell do you think you are, huh?!" Hyung Cheol shot him a death glare, making Gook immediately shut up. Dae Gu took a step forward to grab Hyung Cheol's attention.
"Hey, . Focus your attention back at me." Dae Gu taunted, bending a couple fingers at the other. Hyung Cheol watched him before a small smirk formed on his face.
"My, my. Looks like someone has gotten more daring." He unfolds his arms and rolled up his sleeves. "Sometimes, being bolder is a really bad choice, kid."
---
Panseok stretched his arms over his head and yawned before scratching his head. He frowned as he felt his hair, humming in disagreement when he discovered his hair was getting oily.
"Looks like I need to shower." He muttered reluctantly, deciding to take a small break from work and head into
