xxxvi. Signature Scars

The night falls deep and gets colder as neither the moon nor the stars wants to spare their little bit of hopeful light. It's dark, so dark that the dancing shadows of the trees blend together with the black of the darkness of night itself.

But Kim Namjoo still can see the blood on the corner of his lips, the blue mark near his cheekbone and his cringing face every time she puts the ointment on his wound.

"If you keep doing this, it's getting more dangerous." She scowls, but still keeps her tone low.

"Then you know you should stay away from me." His voice comes out monotonously like a record that keeps being played multiple times. "I'm dangerous, remember?"

Namjoo lets out a frustrated sigh. This is obviously not the first time; gangs fight, getting hurt and she's always there to treat his usual wounded place. And they will always bicker about his choice like a routine.

"Or, you could stop those dangerous fights, remember?" She retorts through her gritted teeth, feeling already tired of what leads into the usual argument.
