Kiss the Baby Sky

WWW
Disclaimer: So ... I used Kiss the Baby Sky. And i'm just going to use baby sky as a reference for the freedom to dream and fly. I know he had different meanings for the song. Anyways, this chapter will be from Eunhee's perspective!

Eunhee couldn’t sleep. The day after the party, Yoochun came over and they had a talk. He had suddenly asked if she wanted to continue with their engagement. Bewildered, she asked what happened but he wouldn’t say.

“That day when you were upset … was it because of hyung?” Eunhee looked away not able to answer. Yoochun took her by the hand and sat her down. “Eunhee-ah, did you ever have doubts about us?”

She was unable to look at him. She definitely cared for this man sitting in front of her. He was there for her through the ups and the downs. He was there when she needed to cry and needed support. She was used to being with him. They rarely fought and understood each other. Even so, she never understood why she could never fully give her heart to Yoochun. That was until she saw them hugging at the party. She felt her heart shatter into pieces.

And now, because of her conflicting feelings, she hurt the people she loved. Why did it her this long to understand her own heart? Yoochun rubbed her hands comfortingly.

“It’s okay. You don’t have to answer. I’ve always know hyung held a special place in your heart,” Eunhee looked up surprised. How was he sitting there so calm and accepting? Shouldn’t he be angry? Instead, he was sitting there gently wiping away the tears that escaped from her eyes. “You know the reason I fell for you in the first place?”

Eunhee shook her head. He never told her why he had chosen to ask her out.

“Your smile,” Eunhee didn’t understand him. “I’ve always loved seeing you smile and laughing. Your eyes would light up and it would remind of the sky. The vast blue sky. It would light up the whole room and I would feel like I could fly and do anything. But I haven’t seen you smile like that in awhile. ”

Yoochun held her face affectionately, looking at her one more time.

“You and I know that we can’t change how our hearts feel. I’d be lying if I said I never doubted. I’ve wondered whether getting engaged was the right thing to do … I didn’t think it through. I thought that if we got engaged, those lingering feelings we had would go away. I’m sorry, Eunhee. I was being selfish. I didn’t consider what was best for you,” he moved his hand away and stood up. Bending down, he kissed her on the forehead. “There’s nothing going on between them. He loves you and I broke her heart … So stop feeling guilty and go find your happiness. I’ll always be here for both of you. You’ll always be my baby sky.”

You’ve always amazed me
Your smiling face matches your inner self.
I won’t say ‘Goodbye’
Even though, previously, I pretended not to see yo.
You’ll be fine, you’ll still be in my mind

The last few weeks had been rough for her. She was overwhelmed. Work didn’t help. It kept her busy but that left her with little time to sort through her feelings. She had run into the guys a couple times at the company. Everyone knew they had broken up and they didn’t treat her any different. Yoochun still greeted and treated her well. But even so, she couldn’t shake that guilty feeling from her heart. So she avoided Jaejoong as much as possible even though she knew it was hurting him.

Coming home from her busy schedule, she found the house empty. All those thoughts she put on hold came rushing back to her. Unable to deal with the silence, she needed to let it all out. Not knowing who else to call, she dialed Sayuri’s number.

“Hello?” As soon as she picked up, Eunhee doubted whether she should’ve called her in the first place. “Eunhee?”

“Unnie …” Even though she had so much to say, she didn’t know where to start. She could hear some rustling in the background. “Are you busy? Can we meet?”

There was silence. Even Sayuri stopped doing whatever she was doing.

“Yea. Same place? I’ll meet you there in an hour?”

“Okay,” Eunhee hung up the phone and stared at the mirror. Getting up, she got ready to go. Bundling up in a thick jacket and scarf, she started the trek to the park next to the company. Getting there a little early, she sat down at the familiar bench. Sitting there, she reminisced of their friendship.

“Here,” Eunhee looked up to see Sayuri handing her a cup of hot chocolate. Sayuri sat down next to her and blew at her own cup.

“Thanks unnie,” she wrapped her cold hands against the cup, trying to warm up.

“You look like you lost some weight. Have you not been sleeping well?” Eunhee could hear the concern in her voice. “You want to talk about it?”

Eunhee nodded. She had so much to talk to her about. But even now, even with Sayuri sitting in front of her, she still didn’t know where to start.

“Unnie, what do I do now?”

“What does your heart tell you?”

“I don’t know … I just know I loved him … I really did,” Sayuri knew she was talking about Yoochun. “He was always there for me and I wanted to give him my best. But no matter how hard I tried, I can’t erase Jaejoong-oppa presence from my heart. And now, I’ve hurt both of them … and somehow, I’ve hurt you too.”

“Eunhee-ah,” Sayuri put her hands on top of Eunhee’s. “Love is a strange thing … it’s complicated. But you can’t keep your heart from doing what it wants.”

“Unnie … how did we end up here?” Eunhee couldn’t stop the tears. She didn’t know what to do with all these feelings.

“I don’t know. I wish I knew.” Sayuri looked blankly at the sun that was setting. “But it doesn’t really matter. What matters is you need to let go of this guilt. It’s eating you up. You’ve lost way too much weight and you look like you haven’t had a good night sleep in days. None of us were wrong. It’s not wrong to love someone. And when you love someone, there’s always a chance of getting hurt. But if we’re not willing to risk being hurt, is it love? Stop punishing yourself. It’s not your fault.”

Baby sky, all the dreams and hopes are made of your eyes.
Tomorrow, certainly the sky will clear up, just like you’re here with me.
Another day, on waking up, I suddenly became aware
In the photograph left behind, the two of us are always smiling.

Good day, good time, enveloped by your heart
I want to reach out to the sky
Kiss the blue sky, your sky

After talking with Sayuri, she felt slightly better. At least she was able to catch some sleep last night. Trudging along the halls, she was on the way to band practice.

“Eunhee!” Eunhee saw Jaejoong running down the hall to catch her. She wanted to run but she knew she had to face him sometime.

“Oppa,” she greeted him.

“I know you’re not ready to talk and I won’t stay too long … but stop hurting yourself. Please,” Jaejoong handed her a piece of paper. It was a new song. “Yoochun wrote this. He misses seeing you smile too. So … even if it hurts, please take care of yourself.”

Baby sky, all the dreams and hopes are made of your eyes.
Tomorrow, certainly the sky will clear up, just like you’re here with me.

Never cry, never ever hide yourself from me.
Please smile, always in the future, just the way you have with me.
Baby sky, all the dreams and hopes are made of your eyes.
Tomorrow, certainly the sky will clear up, just like you’re here with me.

Anyways, hopefully that clears up things on Eunhee's end. Isn't it a big mess? ^^ So next chapter will be happy ending for Jaejoong and Eunhee =D
