Chapter 29

One day Jiro's Mom ask him to drive her to the mall.The driver is out and she does not feel like driving.Jiro happily obliged.
It is good to be out sometimes rather than cramped up in the room,full of memories of Rainie.Sometimes ,he thought maybe a new relationship will help him forget and move on.Rainie obviously have move on,he thought.

Her Mom went to the boutique and Jiro was just hanging out.Her mom saw a little boy playing .He was jumping and running and the the nanny is having a hard time controlling the little boy,trying to reach out for the little fountain.

"Look Jiro see that boy,he exactly look like you when you were little boy"His Mom said,as she enter the shop.

Jiro look at the boy,at first he does not believe her but staring at the boy ,he really looks like his old picture when he was young.Jiro stare at the little boy like he was mesmerized or something.he notice that the Nanny is losing control on the little boy and was about to fall flat on the water,when Jiro grabbed him from somewhere.

"Be careful"he said to the boy.but the boy just let out a giggle thinking it was all a game,as Jiro lifted him up and put him to down.

"Again,again please" the boy urges Jiro.

He shook his head."You should have not done that" Jiro said."Where is your Mom?" and looking at the nanny at the same time.

"Oh she went somewhere" the boy explained."She went to look for job so we will have money.She said I am growing up so fast and I am eating a lot."

Jiro laughed at the boys account.He look so sweet and innocent and he does not understand the feeling why he is so drawn to him.

"Where is your Dad?" Jiro ask.

"Oh I don't know,I have never seen him" the boy said.

Jiro's heart ache for the little boy.So that's why the Mom have to look for job because the father is nowhere.He wonder how it feels, what it was like growing up without a Dad.He can never imagine.The more he feels sorry for the little boy ,if he was my boy I make sure he'll get all the love he needs Jiro thought.

"You are not suppose to be touching those water,it is dirty and have lots of germs." Jiro said.

"Really I don't see it and it looks clean"the boy said."Am I gonna get sick touching it?"

"You can if you put it on your mouth"Jiro said.

"You sound like a doctor.Are you a doctor?My mom said that my dad is a doctor,she have a slip of tongue I guess."The boy continued.

"Jiro smiled at the child's understanding.This boy is smart he thought."Yes I'm trying to be"Jiro answered."So what is your name ?"

"Jared" he answered."I have to go ,I am not allowed talk to strangers.My mom will get mad."

"Then tell her I am not a stranger,my name is Jiro"

"Oh Doctor Jiro"Jared said."I like that name,it almost the same as me letter J right?"

"Right " as Jiro ruffled his hair,he did not stop there,he gave him a hug.Somehow talking to the boy gave him a certain kind of calmness.Somehow losing a girlfriend is not as bad as losing and not having a father especially at this age.How can a father ignore their child,he thought.

Rainie's interview turned out well.She got the teaching post in the primary school.It will be nice cause Jared will be attending school next year.So it will be pretty convenient for both of them.She have a job and she can watch Jared at the same time.

She drove to the mall to pick up Jared and the nanny.Jared is sure growing up so fast.He has been asking a lot of questions now.Questions about his Father,and she knows she have to tell him the truth soon.She does not know how to get around Jiro ,telling him about their son.He is mad as hell now ,what more if he learned about the baby.He will curse her to death if he finds out, and she shivers with the idea.

Tears started to fall down.Did she made a mistake of not telling Jiro about the baby?She thought that she was doing this for him,for his own good,but somehow along the way she forgot about what is good for the baby too,for Jared,I should have thought about him foremost.It is too late to change everything now,but I can still undo about his father.Jared needs his Father.

As she turned ,she thought she caught sight of Jiro and his Mom.But she eventually brushed it off.I hope not,I hope he never saw Jared there.I have to tell him first before he sees him.

Three days later,Jiro went back to the mall ,hoping to get sight of the little boy,who got his heart.He was there,with the nanny again sitting in the bench ,eating ice cream.

"Hello there Jared"Jiro greeted him with a smile as he sat beside him.

"Hello Dr Jiro" he answered back.

"You remembered me?" Jiro asked.

Jared nodded."You are really nice to me the last time,but I did not tell Mommy about you because she will get mad".

"Where is your mom now?" Jiro asked.

"She went to the store with my Aunt"Jared answered."I don't want to go inside,I'm bored.It is all clothes anyway,and I want to eat ice cream."

"What store do you like?" Jiro asked.

"Only toy store" he answered."But I can't buy anything now,cause I just bought something the last time.Do you know I am going to school soon."

"That's great ,I like school".Jiro said.

"Me I don't like" Jared answered."My Mom said that's the only thing I got from her ,for she does not really like school at first but now she likes it."

As Rainie and Hebe are coming out of store,Rainie saw Jiro talking to Jared and her knees start to buckle down.The moment that she is dreaded most,and she was rooted on the spot and can't do anything

As Jared saw her,he jumped and ran towards her"Mommy ,Mommy I have to tell you something"

Jiro's eyes followed Jared's figure until it reached Rainie's face who is as pale as a paper,as if all her blood have left her.She ran out of words....as the tears starts falling.......

Jiro look at her and Jared.....he didn't say a word either.All three of them suspended in time.They are just looking and staring....
