TAEYEON’S POV

I arrived at my apartment around late in the afternoon, It’s still early but I’ve got nothing else to do so I decided to eat at the Arcade& Diner across the street and kill time. I was having fun playing games for what seemed like a few hours after I stuffed myself when I noticed its getting dark outside, OMO! I didn’t notice the time! I went back to my place and got ready to sleep. I was lying in my bed in the middle of my sleep when I felt something strange. Something is dropping on my face, something wet, I bolted upright and looked above me, OMO! There’s water leaking! I immediately moved the bed away (even though it’s so heavy) from the leak and placed a bucket to catch the water.

“AISH JINJJA!!!! WHO COULD BE THAT IDIOT WHO FORGOT TO TURN OFF THEIR FAUCET?!!! AISH, CAUSING ME TROUBLE IN THE MIDDLE OF MY SLEEP! YOU ARE SO DEAD!”

I was almost running upstairs to the room that’s exactly above mine to rant at who ever that was, I banged their door loudly and shouted

“HEY!!!  SHUT YOUR FAUCET!! YOUR WATER IS LEAKING THROUGH MY CEILING!!! YOU’RE GOING TO FLOOD THE WHOLE APARTMENT YOU IDIOT!!”

The owner still haven’t opened the door after several minutes but I didn’t stop banging and yelling at the idiot on the other side of the door. Then I finally heard footsteps coming to the door and then  the doorknob turned and the door opened I directly stared at the guy’s eyes ready to rant but when I looked at him I was so shocked

“YOU?!!!”

“YOU?!!!”

It was the guy earlier! The one who suddenly grabbed me out of nowhere! How can it be that he’s the tenant here?!!!

Baekhyun couldn’t believe it either, it was the girl he met earlier, how can there be such coincidence?

“You’re the tenant here??” The girl asked him

“Yeah, I was here for about a month now” Baekhyun answered

“Your water is overflowing! It leaking through my ceiling and my bed is getting wet. Turn it off!”

“Yeah, I already turned it off, I’m really sorry about that. I accidentally fell asleep while waiting the water to fill the tub”

“Ugh! You are such a bother! I’m calling for the caretaker”

Taeyeon dialed the number of the caretaker downstairs and told the situation, a few minutes later the caretaker arrived at Baekhyun’s door.

“What the bloody hell happened here?!!” the caretaker exclaimed in shocked seeing Baekhyun’s room flooded with water

“I’m really sorry Ms. Wesley I accidentally fell asleep while filling water so… yeah, this happened” Baekhyun told the caretaker apologetically

“Oh god, it’s full of water in there, it’s late already so our repair man already went home we won’t be able to fix it until tomorrow” Ms. Wesley

“Oh I see but how can I sleep when my room is flooded??” Baekhyun asked

“ Is it okay for you to just sleep in other tenants room for the night? Do you know anyone?” Ms. Wesley continued

Baekhyun was thinking because he doesn’t really know anyone around here when his eyes fell on Taeyeon who was listening quietly at the corner . Taeyeon’s gaze also matched with Baekhyun and she already knew what he was going to say

“No no no no no. No way!” Taeyeon pleaded with her eyes

“Oh c’mon please! Just one night! One night and then never again. Just until my room gets fixed” Baekhyun pleaded the girl he met earlier who he doesn’t even know the name but she’s his only hope right now.

“WHAT?? Uh, FYI I don’t even know you and I just met you accidentally earlier! What do I know if you’re a or something?!”  Taeyeon said with exaggeration

“C’mon please I’m not a bad guy and if I was a or something, I would’ve done something bad to you earlier in that alley! If you want, I’ll even pay for my stay” Baekhyun is pleading the girl like a puppy now showing his puppy dog eyes and cutest pout

‘UGH! He does look kind of decent but still, I don’t know him! Ugh Kim Taeyeon you are just too nice’ Taeyeon thought.
 

“UGH! Fine! But just tonight okay!” Taeyeon finally gave in to that puppy dog eyes (hehe :3)

Baekhyun told the caretaker that he’s staying at the girls room for tonight then the caretaker left. Taeyeon led the boy she met earlier to her room which is exactly below his room.

“Well, this is it, welcome” Taeyeon said when they entered her room

“It looks exactly just like mine” Baekhyun said as he looked around

“You can sleep on the floor, but help me move my bed back to its place, this is all you fault”

“Sure no problem, and again, I’m sorry about that”

“Tsk”

While Baekhyun was moving her bed he remembered that he still doesn’t know her name yet. So he asked her.

“Hey since I’m going to sleep here in YOUR room, may I ask what your name is?”

Taeyeon froze, she really has no intention of giving her name to someone much less to a guy she just met. She wants no one to know that she even went here, because that’s the only way she can comeback, if people knew Girls’ Generation’s Kim Taeyeon is staying here she could never come back here. She’s actually planning to make this place her private escape place or a place she can rest once in a while, this area has the least people population in all of London so she is really comfortable that no one would know her here.

“I told you, it’s not important. You don’t have to know my name” she told the guy

“Yeah, but I will sleep HERE, at YOUR place. Don’t you think we should at least know each other’s name as a formality?” Baekhyun insisted

“No we don’t have to, this is just a onetime thing. After my trip I have to be somewhere else and you too have to be somewhere else and we won’t ever meet again so there’s really no need for that” Taeyeon was really strong about not giving her name to anyone

“Ok fine, fine. But at least give me some kind of a nickname, you know, so I don’t have to call you ‘hey’ or ‘YOU whoever you are’. Plus, I’d like to thank you for doing me this favor and I still haven’t thanked you for earlier. You don’t have to know mine if you won’t let me know yours so you can just call me ‘Oreo’!” Baekhyun smiled at her

“Ugh! You will not give up won’t you?!” Taeyeon was tired of the guy insisting

“Fine! Then just call me ‘Dukong’ then!” Taeyeon annoyed

“’Dukong’? as in ‘Peas’ in korean?” Baekhyun asked

“You know Korean?” Taeyeon wondered while looking at the guy

“Yeah I know Korean, because I AM Korean!”  Baekhyun said while chuckling

“Huh, so we’re the same. I’m Korean too“ Tae answered

After that the two got ready to sleep. The two were already lying down on their own bed, Taeyeon on her bed and Baekhyun on the floor using a bunch of blankets as a makeshift bed. They don’t know why but both of them can’t seem to fall as sleep, maybe because there’s someone else in the room or maybe something else. Baekhyun can’t keep up with the silence so he decided to speak up first

“Hey….Peas… still awake?” Baek started

“No, I’m asleep” Taeyeon replied sarcastically even thought her eyes are shut she can’t seem to fall asleep.

“Kojitmal (liar). How can you talk if you’re asleep” Baek chuckled a little

“Can you please be quiet I’m trying to sleep here”

“I know you can’t sleep too pabo(idiot)”

“Yah! Who you calling ‘idiot’?”

“Just joking, but seriously I can’t sleep too, why don’t we tell something about ourselves and kill time until we fall asleep?”

“Are you serious? Don’t you realize it’s already late?”

“I know, that’s why I’m doing this so that we’ll easily fall asleep. You don’t have to go much into details just the ones you want to tell... I’ll start, well… I’m here at London because of my work I’m supposed to be managing our company and doing something else but instead I made my older sister do it instead. I knew myself that I am more that capable at managing but I chose my work as an international photographer because it’s what I really love plus, it kinds of give me an excuse if I want to run away from my problems because I have to move around frequently being a photographer  you know, how about you? Why are you here?”

Taeyeon was hesitating to speak but she felt like she really needs someone to talk to these past few days and this can be the chance she’s been waiting for, she also felt like there’s nothing she should be worried about since she’ll just choose what she says.

“well… I’m kind of on the same road as you, but I’m not here for work, I AM here because I wanted to run away too though…” Taeyeon paused but she continued

“back in Korea everything was starting to get unbalanced and problematic. I was the leader in our group, everything was hanging on my shoulders, I have to show more effort than everyone else, I also have to take care of everyone, I have to be the most careful and when there’s a problem it’s me who gets more blame compared to others…”

 She paused and breathed, she felt like she’s about to cry but she felt like she should hold it in

“You can let it out you know, you can cry or whatever. I really don’t mind my sister always said to me to never keep you feeling inside because it’s dangerous and it’s natural and healthy for us humans to say what we want to say. Plus, we are strangers, so you really don’t have to care about my opinion just treat me like a stuffed toy in your room or something” Taeyeon heard Baekhyun say with a light laugh, it was like he read her mind

“You’re probably right…haha...so yeah…I felt like everything was too much for me so I decided to secretly go here and give myself a break from everyone….from everything….” Taeyeon continued with tears silently flowing from her eyes

Throughout the night both Taeyeon and Baekhyun were telling each other stories about themselves without revealing their identities. Only the only the ones they felt like sharing, both Taeyeon and Baekhyun fell asleep while talking to each other, both of them fell asleep relieved because they finally let out their inner thought to someone else other than themselves.

Taeyeon woke up to frying noises she rubbed her eyes trying while opening them

“Goodmoring Dukong”

Oh yeah, there was someone else in her room, it was Oreo the guy from upstairs.

“I made breakfast since I woke up first and as thanks for letting me stay” Oreo said with a smile

Taeyeon smiled, it was the first time in a long time that someone made breakfast for her. She and her members usually have their breakfast in the car or in the waiting room because of their early schedules. ‘I guess this guy isn’t that bad to have around after all.’

After they ate breakfast together Baekhyun bid goodbye and thanked Taeyeon for letting him stay and went back to his room, both of them actually felt closer to each other because of last night and they are much comfortable with each there is also a little familiarity between them now. Taeyeon wasn’t sure if it is a good idea befriending this guy but there is something about Oreo that she can’t explain, he was nice and comfortable to be around.

Taeyeon prepared for her day and was thinking about what she would do today since her tour package trip ended already ended last week where she was able to see some of the major tourist destinations in London. She was locking her door when she heard someone going down the stairs at the end of the hallway

“Dukong-ie!!” it was Oreo

“Hey! What are you doing today Dukong-ie? Where are you headed?”  Oreo asked her

“well.. I still don’t know, maybe just wander around? I don’t know much places around here so yeah, maybe I’ll just do that” Taeyeon sighed, she really is clueless about where are the good places around London to go to, it’s her second time here but she only went to the major tourist destinations because she doesn’t know anyone here that will tour her around.

“Jinjja?(really?) then let’s go together then! I’ve been here for a month but I always wander around and now I know some fun places nearby! Katchi-kaja!(let’s go together!)” Oreo offered her

Taeyeon looked at him while thinking if she should go or not, he was smiling brightly while looking at her and she can’t help to think about how he looked so cute with that smile ‘ He looks pretty harmless so why the hell no?, I’ve got nothing to do anyway’

“Sure why not?” Taeyeon also smiled brightly at him
