Suffocating Minds
Your life had never been the same since you met him, and you weren’t sure if that was a good or bad thing. All you knew is that, you think, you liked it. You had never experienced this kind of thrill and excitement before. The danger and recklessness was a part of him; it ran deeply through his veins and there was no escaping. It was displayed in the very way he dressed, in his tousled hair and heavy leather jacket. He made your breath catch when he smiled at you. And strangely, you felt at ease as you sat the abandoned apartment that he called his home. This wasn’t the glamorous life that everyone pictured him to have when they saw his perfect face.
You sat and watched the starless night through a broken window with Chen by your side. You sighed.
“What’s wrong?” he asked softly.
“Nothing, it’s just” you thought as you looked out into the dark empty sky “there are no stars”. Chen thought about your answer for a moment.
“We don’t need the stars” he told you “they only block the full picture”
And that is why you loved Chen. There was something so complex about his simpleness.
