Lee Sungyeol

Through Their Eyes

"How much longer~~~~~?" I asked my sister, sighing heavily as I slumped into a chair in the fifth department store we had been to that day.

"Oh, Yeollie~ Calm down, you're not even doing anything. I've been trying on stuff all day. I'm exhausted." She replied while continuing to go through the racks fiercely. I just rolled my eyes and looked around. This wasn't my kind of store; there were frilly girly things and pink everywhere. I glanced toward the dressing rooms and saw a girl come out in a green knee-length dress. She stood in front of the mirrors before frowning, shaking her head and walking back inside. That dress was perfectly fine, what was wrong with it? I waited and next she came out in a purple dress that hugged more of her curves. She had the same reaction upon looking at herself in the mirror.

I don't know why I did it, but I stood up and slowly walked toward the dressing room. When she came out again, this time in a red, black, and white dress, I walked up behind her as she stood before the mirror. "I like this one best." I said, hoping not to sound like a creep.

She glanced up and smiled. "Yeah? I don't know..." She messed with the lace at the mid-thigh edge of the dress, uncertainty on her face.

"Oh yeah. What's the occasion?" I asked, smiling when she turned around and looked at me.

"I've got a date" my heart sank "with my dad tonight." My spirits lifted again as she finished her sentence. "He hasn't been home in six months, so I haven't been able to see him. I'm so excited and I want the perfect outfit."

"Wow, that's a long time... But I think this is the right dress out of the ones I've seen so far."

"Wh-which ones did you see?" She blushed lightly, looking away. Aw, that was cute.

"The green and the purple ones. Why? Do you have more??" How many dresses could a girl go through? Don't they know what they like?

"I have a few more. I hate to ask this of you, but I don't have anyone else with me... Would you mind staying for like fifteen more minutes to help me decide?" She bit her lip slightly and gave me the most convincing puppy eyes I had seen since Sungjong used his aegyo on me yesterday.

"I guess I can spare some time~" I said, glancing around to find my sister and her friend in the depths of the infinite supply of stuff this store had.

"You're amazing! What's your name? I'm ___" Her eyes sparkled and I couldn't help but keep smiling.

"It's Sungyeol. Go ahead and try the next one on, then! I'll wait right here." I sat on the chair next to the mirror expectantly. She laughed a bit before rushing into the changing room and putting on a different dress. It was a sparkly blue one that played up her eyes, but it wasn't right. The next one was grey-ish green but I didn't like it as much either. I lost count of how many dresses she went through before finally coming out in the red, black, and white one again.

"This one is the one!" I said. She started jumping up and down and I joined her enthusiastically.

"Yeolliebearrrrr!" I heard my sister's unmistakable shriek from the doors leading out of the store. I groaned and rolled my eyes before looking down at the girl in front of me.

"I have to go. But hey give me your phone for a sec." She handed it over with a puzzled expression. I gave her my number and smiled at her again. "Message me, okay?"

"I will. Especially if I have to go shopping again." We laughed a bit and said goodbye before I walked back to my sister, dragging my feet along the way.

That night I went to one of the smaller resturaunts that I liked in hopes of getting away from the insanity of my dorm mates. I ordered a drink and looked around while I waited. Suddenly I spotted ___ from earlier today. She was wearing the dress she'd gotten today and was sitting alone at a table for two. Maybe her dad was just running late. But she kept waiting, pulling out her phone from time to time to check if there were any messages. I frowned, wondering how long she'd been waiting.

I stood up and walked over to her table. "May I join you?"

She looked up, blinking a tear out of her eye. "S-Sungyeol? Of course! Please sit down. Why are you here? Are you stalking me?"

I grinned slightly, "It sure seems like that, I bet. But no, this is just one of my favorite places to go; their food is delicious."

"Mmm, I love it, too. Have you had their s'more gyeongdan?"

    "Their what?"

"S'more gyeongdan. It's a special dessert they have. You MUST have some with me! Otherwise I'll have dressed up for nothing tonight." I was about to ask her about that, but she quickly cut me off and ordered the dessert. "You'll love it." She smiled at me and I couldn't help but grin back.

We talked about everything except her dad as we ate dessert together. I was glad I could make her laugh after she had had such a rough night. But as we were leaving the restaurant, she seemed sad again.

I was feeling depressed about leaving her and randomly grabbed her hand. "I'll walk you home. It's getting dark out and with you looking so beautiful there could be tons of bad guys after you." I blushed, hoping the streetlamps wouldn't show it.

"O-oh, um... what? I don't look that great... A-and I can take care of myself, you don't have to-." I interrupted her with a laugh and squeezed her hand.

"Oh, shut up and let me walk you home." She laughed with me and agreed. I just hoped I'd be able to find my way back to her house tomorrow.

Author's Note: YEOLLIEEEE ♥ asjdfklsa; he's so freaking adorable. (Before you yell at me, I am aware he doesn't have a sister. The character type was necessary for the story, so there ;P )
Sorry this chapter is so short. :/  I'm feeling really swamped with everything going on in my life right now, so I haven't had much time to write. But that's whatever. I hoped you liked this one.
Please let me know what you think! ^^/

Chapter 2: Hoya is my ultimate bias, so your characterization of him made me happy. He's so bold, but with such a big heart. Normally I'd say the jump from just meeting someone to flat-out asking them if she wanted to be his girlfriend is too abrubt. But, that's what Hoya is in your story; abrubt and confident. It was a fun read! :3
