look only at me : jackbam

prompt: Everytime they are on dates Jackson tends to have a wandering eye, checking out girls! BamBam catching him yet again after Jackson said he wouldn't do it anymore gets offended and self-conscious and pretty much breaks up with Jackson. Jackson feeling awful and guilty does something reallyyy sweet for BamBam

"Bam…"

"Just one more. I promise. We’ll leave right after." Words interrupted and Jackson sighed in defeat. There was no use arguing against Bambam, the little Thai fellow just needed to bash a couple of eyelashes and most of Korea would probably nod to his wishes. "Fine, just one more." Jackson murmured in the neck of a distracted Bambam before snaking his arms around to capture the male’s waist. He paid no attention to the little carnival game the younger was trying to win at. There was no need when the fruity scent and the pale soft skin of his boyfriend’s were far more intriguing and as a childish whine rang through his ears, Jackson could only muffle a chuckle before pulling away.

Obviously the water-shooting game was not fond of Bambam and lacing fingers, he pulled the other away from the game before any more puppy eyes could be used.

"Ah, wait—" The younger suddenly called out and putting a halt on his steps, the male peered over his shoulders to meet the eyes of his lover. There was a sheepish smile that settled on Bambam’s lips and blinking in confusion, Jackson could only chuckle in light disbelief at the following words.

"Can I go to the washroom? I think that water gun had ice-cream dripping down the sides…" The Thai spoke with a puckered pout and glancing down to their intertwined fingers, Jackson nodded, unlacing their hold just after. "I’ll wait here," and once Bambam vanished behind a group of people, the older made his way towards an unoccupied bench. His hands dug in his pocket for his phone and lousily skimming through unread messages (that he was far too lazy to respond to), his eyes flickered across the crowds that decided to also enjoy their day at the amusement park.

His view scanned through unfamiliar faces and a light whistle was a distraction for his lone silence but as his gaze caught the eyes of another, Jackson couldn’t help but smirk. The crescent-shaped eyelids clearly indicating that he had caught a stranger’s interest and tilting his head, tauntingly, to the side, Jackson let his eyes run down the female just a few good feet away from him. She, whoever she was, was definitely gorgeous and the clothes that pressed against her curves were enough to keep him looking.

Well, curse him for his good looks because it surely wasn’t the first time he caught the attention of another. Nor, did he believe it would be his last.

However, his moment was ruined when a piece of paper was smacked against his chest and glancing upwards to notice the return of his boyfriend, Jackson arched a brow in confusion. “What’s this?” He mumbled, not putting the pieces together and as Bambam’s features scrunched in slight disbelief, the male knew he had done something wrong. “A number…” The Thai began, his arms crossing against his chest as he jerked his head towards the pink-coloured paper, “from one of the many girls you’ve been constantly checking out since our arrival.”

At that moment Jackson didn’t know whether he should have had a boost of confidence or feel apologetic to his boyfriend but the answer was figured out once a frown settled on the other’s lips. “You promised, Jackson.” Bambam’s voice softened and he couldn’t help but ignore the knot in his stomach.

It had been like that since the beginning. The older was simply not one that could easily be tied down and committed into a relationship. Yet, Bambam hoped it would be different. That the moment Jackson finally agreed into going out with him, his eyes would only be looking at him. He knew his hopes were high, the other was known to be a casanova— yet, he believed that the male would eventually come to understand.

"It’s just a number, Bam. I’m still your boyfriend."

And Bambam truly enjoyed how comforting that sentence was but he ignored it because he wasn’t an oblivious idiot. The amount of times Jackson’s eyes wandered to another, the amount of time those dark brown orbs flirted behind his back, Bambam honestly couldn’t count. His boyfriend knew how to attract the attention of males and females alike and the young Thai didn’t knew if he was okay with sharing his lover to another.

It made him self-conscious and alone. Jackson would grab the interest of many; of long-legged models, of natural beauties, of people that could be walking down a runway and yet the one that luckily had the title of being his ‘boyfriend’ was none of the above. He was just a immature, plain babyfaced blonde and, though, it was already self-conscious having a super attractive boyfriend, there was simply no more confidence in him to fend himself from those model-like people.

"Let’s just go eat dinner." Bambam then finally spoke up.

"—so, Yugyeom was wondering if we would join?" When silence became his answer, Bambam rested his cheek against his palm. He observed the attention-drifting boyfriend and eventually followed eyes to meet a waitress at a nearby table. The brunette was serving her customers but the bright smile that sketched her lips, Bambam knew wasn’t caused by the grandma that was too busy lost in her menu and sighed helplessly. "Jackson, did you hear what I just said?"

"Yeah, something about Youngjae—" And the younger had frowned for the nth time that day. People, despite what others may have said, don’t all change and Bambam lowered his view onto the fork that was tangled in his plate of spaghetti.

It was now or never and he sighed. “Jackson, let’s break up.”

"That’s what you said?! Jackson, let’s break up?!" Yugyeom exclaimed and Bambam groaned before rolling over the other’s mattress and stuffing his face in his friend’s pillows. It was a mistake telling the giant what happened; Yugyeom was an obvious Jackson fanboy. "You brat. Stop being biased and come comfort your heartbroken friend." The Thai then growled, though, it came out as a muffled whine and Yugyeom snorted, finally edging over to the side of his bed and patting the back of the older. "Fine. Fine. He, though, as awesome as he may be, was stupid and completely at fault and you go, girl." The younger informed with a sense of sincerity but more amusement and Bambam scoffed before reaching over to swat at the other in a blind attempt, not bothering to peer away from the pillows.

He didn’t know if he truly regretted the break up— in a sense, it would give Jackson an idea of his wrong-doings but at the same time, the separation … Bambam didn’t know if he could handle it. Yet, his pride kept him from reaching for his phone and calling his boy— his ex-boyfriend because it was a hopeless cause now. Someone like Jackson could easily get another lover with a snap of his fingers.

The break up probably meant little to nothing to the Wang and Bambam could only ignore the hurt in his chest for so long.

"Yah, Giant." Moving away from his comfortable sulking position, the older shuffled, cross-legged and stared at his friend. "Let’s go out. Let’s do something. I need to get my mind off of him." He suggested but it came out more as a demand and Yugyeom chuckled before reaching for his jacket. "Your wish is my command."

"So, that’s it? You’re single now?"

Jackson ignored the pestering questions; absolutely irritated with his prying friend. “I don’t know if you’re sad for me or not.” He then responded with little to no interest and Jinyoung’s laugh could be heard before the younger threw his arm around the other. “We’re here at a club. Loosen up and have some fun, homie.” He spoke, his view scanning the crowded floor, catching the attention of many and Jackson for once couldn’t disagree.

Breakups didn’t usually mean anything to him. Call him a jerk but what was done was done. Still, the amount of times he had checked his phone had said otherwise and adjusting his snapback, Jackson threw himself into the crowd. It took no real attempt to engage with the strangers around him, feminine bodies were already pressing against him and if it were any other day, the male wouldn’t have minded. He would have responded back, hands on the others hips and thoughts dedicated to only strangers. Yet, it wasn’t and the vivid image of a babyfaced blonde had strongly told him that. “God ing damn—” The curse escaped with a loud growl and Jackson stepped back, rejecting the flirtatious attempts from the couple of unknown females before finally turning his back.

"Yo, Junior, I think I’m getting sick." He then called out, all too seriously as he pulled away from the dance floor and retreated back to his friend, (who was also occupied with a female). Jinyoung had arched a brow at the strange comment. "What? Are you not feeling well?" He then questioned with a natural concern and Jackson nodded.

"Stomach ache?"

The older shook his head.

"Are you coming down with a cold?"

And another head shake.

"Then what is it?"

"It’s Bambam—."

Jinyoung tilted his head to the side, surprised with the response. “What about Bambam?”

I miss him.”

Yugyeom shook his head for the nth time that day. “God, you’re such a downer.” The youngest uttered and Bambam scowled, his eyes falling from the darkened sky to his own friend. “Shush, you stupid giant.” Was the only good comeback he had and both males soon fell into light laughter as they continued their adventure down the sidewalk. It was nice out. The air was refreshing and the darkness that hung above them was faintly illuminated by the glowing moon and the surrounding streetlights. Somehow, all was just perfect for Bambam and his current mood.

However, thoughts were destroyed the moment cold fingers clasped around his wrist and almost jumping, the blonde couldn’t be more than surprised to see Jackson.

"Jackson?" Was then his only word and glancing over at an exhausted Jinyoung that stood a couple of feet ahead of him, the older’s hands on his knees as if he was trying to catch his breath, Bambam stayed confused. However, there wasn’t much time to utter a single word and as Jackson began to drag him, the young Thai obediently followed. "Where are we go—" His words came to a halt as the other led them down an empty path, one that eventually brought them to an empty park. "Just listen." Jackson finally interrupted and once they were close enough to the bench and away from any possible lurking friends, the older heaved a heavy breath.

And there, Bambam could see how exhausted Jackson was. He was running. But why? Slight concern faltered on his expression and the fingers that released his wrist went unknown. “So, this is my first time doing something like this.” Jackson murmured, almost inaudible and taking a few steps back the boy reached into his pocket, pulling out his phone. He took a couple of seconds, skimming through certain apps till he finally found the note that he was looking for and letting out a cough, the older cleared his throat.

"If kisses were raindrops—" Jackson spoke all too sudden, "I’d send you showers. If hugs were seconds, I’d send you hours. If smiles were water, I’d send you the sea. If love was a person, I’d send you me." He continued, not taking his eyes off his phone— mostly because it was far too embarrassing.

Though, once everything clicked, Bambam felt the familiar cage of butterflies unleash in his stomach and though, that poem was far too cheesy for Jackson’s liking, Bambam couldn’t help the foolish ear-splitting smile that spread on his lips. —Because Jackson, Wang Jackson was reading him love poems.

There was a split second of silence until the other began to speak again. “Like the sun you—” Though, this time Jackson had to pause (because this poem was far more cheesy) and he glanced up at Bambam. Eyes running down the smile that he then couldn’t help but reflect on his own lips. It was obvious right then and there what he felt and a lousy chuckle followed. “What I’m trying to say is, I love you, Bambam.” He confessed and for the shortest moment ever, their eyes did all the talking.

"Despite everything I do, I realized it always has to be you at the end." He continued, the words now dripping into a whisper because suddenly they are too close and Jackson doesn’t feel the need to shout. "And I’m a jerk and an idiot and so much more — but I do love you." He explained, fingers resting on Bambam’s hips and the Thai stood baffled. The redness that flushed against his cheek pretty much his answer. "I— wow, that was cheesy." The younger whispered back with a chuckle and just like every other time Bambam laughed, Jackson found himself standing mesmerized.

"God. You’re beautiful…” The word escaped before the older could properly think and Bambam, flushing even deeper, wasn’t able to growl at the feminine compliment when suddenly soft lips pressed against his.

Meanwhile,

"Don’t tell me you gave Jackson your cheesy love poems?" Yugyeom questioned the older.

And as Jinyoung walked away with a mocking smile, the youngest cringed in disgust. “Those poor souls might need Jesus after that.”
