‘Are you being serious right now? Many new guys get some kind of creepy story attached to them, wasn’t Yonghwa a descendant of a werewolf and some boys therefore locked him up in a storage all night, waiting for the full moon and then let him out, seeing whether it was true?’

‘And was he a werewolf?’

‘See? Those stories are just made up because no one is expected to move into this village and therefore need a good reason to be here. But they’re not true, come on! It’s just to pick on someone for a while.’

‘If you say so, I would play it safe and ignore him if I were you.’

‘But you’re not me. He needs to be properly greeted and get a tour around the school at least, if no one is doing that, then we will.’

 ‘No freaking way we’re doing that. The headmaster will probably do it himself anyway, if he hasn’t already done that. Sit down and eat your lunch, he’ll be fine!’

► ‘Oh please! We can ask whether he had a tour already. If he says no, we’ve at least tried to do a good deed today! I’m sure it’ll be all right.’

 ‘Damn, of all the people, why do I have to be best friends with you? Okay, we’re going, but I swear, if he’s creepy, I’m out.’

► ‘Maybe you’re right, we should leave him alone. The headmaster will take care of it.’

‘That’s my girl, I don’t feel like giving up my lunch and be hungry for the rest of this afternoon for that boy. You got my word, he’ll be fine.’

Lee Hyeri

Lee Hyeri is a bubbly and friendly girl. She's 16 years old, very enthusiastic and is always there to help out when someone needs her. She scores high marks and is really one of the favourite students of many teachers. Many people would describe her as 'naturally cute'. Her favourite subject is music, she's a good singer with an unique voice. Although she doesn't like to admit, she currently has a little crush on Yonghwa, the boy that she sits next to in music class.

Jung Daehyun

Jung Daehyun moved into this village not long ago, he lives with his uncle. People say that he fled to this village because he is cursed. He's 17 years old and very kind, he's a great listener, but also able to talk to anyone. Hyeri would like to get a bit closer to him. He's quite mysterious and doesn't like to talk about his past. He is interested in the subjects physics and chemistry, but he has a big passion for biology. His hidden talent is definitely singing, he has written a song himself too.

Meng Jia

Meng Jia is the best friend of Hyeri. She's 16 years old, funny, honest and caring. Hyeri is convinced that she dares to do pretty much everything. She has a sharp tongue and always says what she thinks of someone directly, making her appear rather blunt. She does good on school, she's not able to score the kind of marks Hyeri is able to score, but her marks are not insufficient either (most of the times). Her favourite subject is dancing, she's very talented too.

 Amy Lee

Amy Lee is a girl from Daehyun's past. Hyeri doesn't know who she is, but the name sounds very familiar to her. It's a pity Hyeri doesn't remember where she has seen the name before, though.

Bang Yongguk

Bang Yongguk is the half-brother of Daehyun. They share the same mother and used to be really close when they were little.
